Straight and British but can confirm the Mediterranean Europeans are different even than the Brits. They are more passionate people about everything in life and in matters of intimacy it is far more authentic and from the heart than any British experience. My personal experience is mostly with a Maltese man, slightly more similar to the reserved nature of the Portuguese but in their own homes very affectionate. Side note, I love how 'blah blah blah' is such a European thing at the end of sentences. A little quirk I've noticed my own European friends do as well.
American here from San Francisco and i will say the culture is so diff on the west coast. I go to uni in New York and im not used to being around so many people everywhere. It’s def hard for me to hookup (altho I am a slut lol) because I grew up hiking instead of clubbing/more populated events so I’m more inclined on intimate gatherings in nature than crowded rooms (altho I am trying to change this). I think internalized homophobia rly just depends on where u grew up. I was fortunate enough to live in a super socially liberal place where I never got bullied in school for my identity (altho I wasn’t femme presenting which usually would get ppl’s attention). The intelligence thing can be tough bc our public schools are so shit, but I’ve noticed that Americans are intelligent in ways that Europeans aren’t (and Vice versa). At the end of the day Americans and Europeans are so diverse that idk if I could ever make a single generalization that would encompass one of the groups. However I think it would be cool if y’all dissected Americans living in Europe bc that is a very specific type of character.

Honestly for me I get totally irked out by Italian men. It’s weird but I find the Americans I’ve been with to be very stringent about consent while the Italian men my friends and I have encountered have been very sexually agressive and touchy
