Mini dachshund enjoys the Christmas season in NYC

- Our miniature dachshund Mac visited the Christmas sites in New York City this past week, including the Christmas tree at Rockefeller, the ice skating at Bryant Park and Santaland at Macy's on 34th street. There is no place quite like New York City at Christmas time :)
Mac is a miniature sausage dog (doxie, teckel, dackel) who lives in Montreal. Follow his adventures here!

My first dachshund was from NYC. The Big Apple suits darling Mac. Did you know that in J.D. Salinger's famous Glass family stories, the family has a dachshund? This comes to mind as Salinger's characters are quintessentially Manhattanites and, as far as I am concerned, the daxie is the perfect dog for this setting.
That’s so interesting - we didn’t know that! We stopped by The Strand bookstore and were searching for some classic New York-based literature. I’ll definitely search for that at the MTL libraries. That sounds like a perfect winter read. Thanks for sharing, Kim 🙂
