Canned beef, I scoop out the fat layer and throw it away. Use canned beef in chili and soups. I found I could make a decent chicken salad for sandwiches with the cans of chicken. White chicken chili too, mixed a can in alfredo sauce for dinner tonite. Beans will keep for along time if stored in a bucket with a fitted lid.
Think about stretching the stuff by using it as ingredients in things. Cook the beans part of a bag at a time then add them to things. The same is true with the beef. Open the beef, put it in a container that you can freeze and use it in small amounts. That way you can season it up. It will add ingredients and flavor, without taking over the dish. Just a thought!
First time seeing you videos . I find this informative. Please keep them coming . Your presentation style is wonderfully natural , like talking to a neighbor .
i love cooking with that beef..i skim of the fat..it makes great sloppy joes, beef soup, add some brown gravy and onion and serve on rice or mashed potatoes..i can get around 3 meals out of 1 can...i use the cans of chicken and add it to stuffing or a flavored noodle packet such as knorrrs side like Alfredo...yummy
Let's be honest. The canned beef looks like "dog food" but the best thing I've found to do with it is make BBQ sandwiches by just mixing it with a bottle of Kraft or Baby Ray's Barbecue sauce. I've been getting these each month for about a year & 1/2. It definitely helps stretch your budget. You have to be 60 yrs old and I requested an application for my Significant Other since he'll be 60 in Nov. They told me there is a waiting list right now of about 20 people ahead Soviet could take a couple of months. The timing will probably work out perfect by Nov anyway. Around the holidays we got extra stuff like 5 lbs of sugar & flour. I've received a whole frozen chicken on 2 different occasions. Even bags of USDA Walnuts & Raisins for Holiday baking. 😊❤
is it normal for your area to have a wait list ? I know some of our food pantry's are really running low so not sure if something is going on . I hope we get some flour and sugar that would sure help out a lot . Have a wonderful day
I volunteer unloading pallets food for a pantry...there are odd brand products and there are really good brand items. They let me take food for seniors around me. I pick very carefully 😊 I only take what they would use. They get Fresh milk, the box cheese you got, lots of fresh fruit, celery, grapes, frozen fruit, etc...then I pick a chicken or fish or pork item. They like the can chicken too! On my own though I gather food from donations to help supplement them throughout the year.
I haven't used the canned beef yet, but I found a few tips about that -- one person in particular said to open the can and pour the entire contents into a colander and rinse with warm water to get off most of the fat. Then you can use the meat in things like beef and noodles or a pot of homemade beef vegetable soup. If nothing else, store it in your pantry for emergency food use, should it ever come to that.
I love these videos keep making them. Heat the can heat up in the nuke box and drain the fat off. Nice haul. Keto diet damn near killed me, no joke . Nice food box
Thank you , yes Keto can be really bad , But had I knew better and just went low carb with out all the fats etc ,I would been fine . Have a great weekend .
I take the canned chicken and break it up in a large bowl. Add a couple eggs, dry bread crumbs, seasonings, and form into patties. Then I put some more crumbs in another bowl and press the patties in, to coat both sides. I put them on a large plate and let them sit uncovered in the fridge to firm up, for about an hour. Small amount of oil in pan and fry until crispy. Throw it on a bun with cheese, lettuce, tomato, or what have you and some mayo. Yum! I've taken the pears and cut them finely and made a quick bread. Just do a Google search and look for a recipe that suits your needs. The beef, I've scraped out most of the fat and made BBQ sandwiches. You can take some of the tomato sauce and doctor it up with vinegar, brown sugar, mustard, catsup, red pepper flakes, or whatever strikes your fancy and add it to the beef for BBQ's. The canned chicken - drain the water into a small kettle, add some chicken stock, make some dumpling dough with an egg, flour, salt, and baking powder, make it into a lump in your hands, and cut it in pieces into the boiling broth. Add your chicken broken up and mixed veggies or cook fresh and you've got chicken and dumplings. Have a good one Sheri! 😁
You could learn to pressure can your beans. Also, you can use those beans to make bean and ham soup or vegetable bean soup. I have hundreds of jars of soups, vegetables etc. canned. I wish I could afford the beef you're grousing about. People in The Great Depression would have been very grateful for any bit of food they got.
Oh The beef is fine not grossing about it lol , its just high in sodium is all I am saying . I have ate it but my son loves it very much . Im thankful for every bit of it
Why you are complaining about it all being unhealthy. This focus hope box each month is better than starving. You don't like something in the box share it with someone else. This is exactly what I do I'm grateful for the focus hope box each month. I love my beans. Especially in the winter ❄️.
sorry I was not complaining , just being honest .I am very thankful I do share what I cannot have . I do love the beans also and canned chicken , love making the white chicken chili with it Thanks for watching

The canned beef is awful , I wouldn’t feed it to the cat 🐈⬛ LOL….
My dog barely eat it!😂😂
You are lucky you don't have to eat it. Some people don't have that luxury.
I used to hate canned chicken until I came across good ways to use it. Canned beef is probably the same.
Me to .I love making white chicken chilli and nuggets with the chicken
