    Basketball is obviously a team game, but, regardless, mono E mono, if your goat can't Beat D Wade, in one on one how could LeBron be the goat?? statistically, he came out of high school and has had great longevity. That doesn't make him the greatest.

    The best player of all time to me personally, coming from someone who witnessed MJ’s era in real life, is Lebron James. MJ had a better career, yes. But Lebron is the best individual player and this is just reality. His longevity, him being top 10 in literally every stat minus rebounds lol. The people who like to exclude Bron from their top 5 are bitter, jealous, and mad that he is compared to MJ. But as an “oldhead” myself, I’d like to say that Lebron is the 🐐. Sorry, I don’t make the rules.

    The only three players imo that can not be left off of a top five list is Jordan, LeBron, and Kareem. The last two players can be debated. Wilt, Bill Russell, Magic, Bird, Shaq, Hakeem, Kobe, Tim Duncan, and Stephen Curry. If we're making a top ten list, all nine of these goes first before Giannis, Joker, Kawhi, and Luka.

    • @emilymesch7537

      I'll add a caveat of "so far" for those last four, but that's basically where I stand, too. If your GOAT is Jordan, LeBron, or Kareem, you're not wrong. Each one is valid based on different criteria. After them, there's an open field of folks who have good arguments for being in the top-10.

    MJ still over Lebron for me but Im cool if people say its Lebron. Lebron is EASILY the greatest in terms of longevity but besides longevity records (points, assists, etc) he hasnt accomplished more than MJ. Jordan was leading scorer 10x and 9x All NBA 1st Team Defense. Bron was leading scorer once and Defensive 1st Team 5x. Bron was assists leader once while MJ was steals leader 3x. I wont count MVPs (Bron =4/MJ= 5) because MVP selections can be grossly inaccurate. But 6 Finals MVP for MJ while going 6-0 with double 3 peats is what does it for me. Plus the fact that people love to bring up Pippen but they forget or dont know that MJ had a lot to do with molding Pippen into a superstar. Playing 1 on 1 after practice, MJ requesting Pippen guard him in scrimmages, MJ inviting Pippen to train at his house in the off season....MJ took an active role as a leader to help develop Pippen. You think its a coincidence Pippen became a great defender after guarding MJ in practice all the time?

      Their team was fine without MJ lol. Without MJ the Bulls won 55 games and with him they won 57. Without Lebron the Cavs would’ve been the bottom seed. I think that it’s kind of ridiculous how we keep having this conversation. LeBron is clearly the best individual player of all time. Nostalgia is the thing that keeps you guys from admitting the truth.

    • @KH-no7ph
      @KH-no7ph 6 місяців тому +4

      @@Forever1mthatg1rl Finally someone gets it. Look at LeBron at the same ages as Michael was when he was with the Bulls (21-35). Play by play data shows us that Bron's teams during those years were equivalent to 28-win teams (in 82 game seasons). We only have play by play data for MJ's last two Bulls seasons, but a reasonable estimate is that they were equivalent to 38-win teams without him. MJ in those years averaged 56 wins out of every 82 games he played in; Bron averaged 57. Both players went to the post season 14 times in those years. MJ on average took his teams 9.9 wins deep (and that's counting first round advances as 4 wins); Bron on average took his teams 12.7 wins deep. So the guy who won more both in the regular and post-seasons, playing for worse teams, is surely the better of the two, and that's Bron. And that's not even getting into the longevity achievements.

    • @Forever1mthatg1rl
      @Forever1mthatg1rl 6 місяців тому +1

      @@KH-no7ph Exactly! But when I say it they just say “you’re a Bronsexual and don’t know ball”. The funny thing is about the whole longevity discussion too, is that Lebron passed MJ in points in 2018 with less shots taken and more efficiency. Bron is top ten in basically every stat besides rebounds. They say “if MJ played 21 seasons he’d have 40k too”. Okay…well then why didn’t he keep playing then? Is it because he couldn’t? It’s a double standard too because when Kareem became the all time leading scorer, he was in the goat debate and mentioned as one of the greatest. But now that Lebron passed Kareem, with more efficiency might I add, it’s just a “longevity stat”. I’ve come to terms that people who believe MJ is the goat are deliberately ignoring facts and are coping 😂.

    I’m with Teague that championships don’t matter if we’re just talking about who is better at basketball, not who had a more prosperous career.
    I don’t hold the lack of championships or the fact they only have one or two against guys like Jerry West or Charles Barkley. They did their damnedest to lead their teams to those championships but things just didn’t work out for them. They ran into Russell’s Celtics, MJ’s Bulls, etc.
    But those guys, even in losing efforts, played phenomenally throughout the playoffs and in the biggest games. That’s the issue with the James Harden take.
    Regular season Harden? Yea, strong case he’s better than regular season Wade. But we all know what playoff Harden means. It’s not just that he doesn’t have a championship, it’s how he plays in those playoffs games.

    No one on the panel was old enough to know when Larry Bird - Magic Johnson were going at it. The teams in the 80s were mostly all loaded because until Miami and Charlotte came into the league, there were 24 teams and so teams like the Sixers had Moses Malone, Dr J, Charles Barkley at the same time. Go look at these rosters. The Rockets had Hakeem and Ralph Sampson at the same time. Luka is not a top 5 player. Stop it. He doesn’t play a lick of defense. Larry Bird was an all nba defensive player. Luka never plays a second of defense. Luka won’t be in the league at 34. He doesn’t take care of his body. Larry Bird is flat better than Luka. It’s not championships. Larry Bird is way better than Luka without championships.

    MJ is an HOF's ahead of Lebron. Stop reaching and praising longevity and durability stats. How many years was considered better than his peers besides a couple years in Miami? The other years there was always a Kobe, Tim, Steph, KD, Giannis, Kawhi, Jokic... He was never clearly above the others. MJ was considered the best before he even won a ring and then the best until 98. No debate. We're talking about the GOAT, not someone who's constantly top 5 amongst peers.

      Just because MJ didn't win in the 80s doesn't mean them 80s players were better than MJ. Anything related to Bron, the goal post always been moved lol. You acting like Tim and Kobe didn't had better teams in the 2000s to win chips. Bron won 2 MVPs in 2000s but never had a team and coach like Kobe and Tim. After Shaq, what did Kobe accomplished until Pau came and Phil cameback. MJ took a break after 3 peats. He doesn't even wanna comeback after 98 because they will fire Phil. What happened before Phil and Pippen? What happened when he cameback in 2000s? Kobe and MJ were old but we didn't expect them to do anything anymore. While LeBron breaking records and putting up 25 a game as 39 yrs old and yet we expect him to carry them to the Finals like what 😂
