- WE have a dead 90' Hemlock that needs to be brought down. It is leaning the wrong way and we want to control how it falls. Follow along as we guide this ancient tree back to the forest floor.
Love it and the little aside of reishi mushrooms. Cheers!
I'm not sure if you can tell that it is me in New Hamburg...loving it. Glad to see your skills shining.
The sound of the tree falling brought back a lot of memories of me, Dad and Grandpa cutting fire wood on the farm for enough heat for 2 homes.
As long as the trees were not on the homes all the better!
*- Wonderful wood to mill.*
That was a perfect drop and 135 years is impressive!
I had never seen anyone use ropes to guide the fall of a tree like that.... Thank you sir!!!
Fun to watch that big boy come down! Nice job!
Wow..that was a very old tree! Nice job planning, executing, and sticking the landing!!
Thank you very much!
Strong fishin line an good sinker works. An if not yer ladder
Yer sorry if use line then tie to rope. Always has to come round the back of the tree. Not just a branch'
I have to admit, I would have dropped it into the open space, even with all of the cleanup. Would save all of the issues pulling it against lean and then trying to pull your saw logs out ;) It's a choice of where you want to put your effort.
Turns out most of the tree is punky…so it can stay in the forest.
🇳🇴👍👍👌
NICE VIDEO THAT WENT WELL
Like it but to throw a waited line over. Just gets ya rope up there. An not to hard to do. Ladders seem dangerous if dont need em. Thanks tho'
Yes, I have a buddy that is an arborist and he does that frequently. I have many more tall giants to come down and I may look into how I can do that on my own. Thanks!
hello my friend
Could you use a come a long to add tension to the tree if no tractor is available?
That's a good idea!
A come along will do the job. Just be sure you're using adequate strength rope in the system
