  • We have a lot of tree debris around the property. Rather than leave it around we need to put it to use. Our new Woodland Mills WC88 will solve that problem! With the new wood chip source we can apply lots of organic matter and keep weeds under control and beautify our Homestead!

Future video IF you have a backhoe attachment: Basic operation and techniques! Many new "hobby homesteaders" purchase a backhoe with their tractor even if they don't know what they'll do with it - and they certainly don't know HOW to use it effectively. We are going to do one soon with the TYM 574 and the BY85 backhoe but the more the merrier!

Great idea! …but I do not have a backhoe. If I need one I rent a 5 ton excavator once in a while. We have so many big rocks in our ground I don’t think a backhoe on our tractor would be able to handle it!

We just purchased the WC68 for our hobby homestead. I was having so much fun cleaning up around our small place with the Mini-Clip that I have a ton of trees and limbs to mulch. New sub so keep up the good work!

Hi Scott from Terry in Boulter! That machine works pretty good! looks like we’re headed back into winter for a couple of weeks. Oh well! Take care!

You should shorten the rod for the in and out feed. That way the branches arent hitting it so easy.

Thanks for the comment and watching. I think the red handle is designed to be in the way. If you were somehow caught on a branch and being pulled in to the machine you would likely hit the handle causing the feeder to stop or reverse. That’s a feature I would like to keep!

You should go up another notch, that will also help you when you are feeding the beast. It will be easier on the shaft, straighter and on your back.

Yes, I agree with everything you say…it will be done!

Excellent video! I'm eyeing a WC68 for myself. Question to make sure I understand what you did correctly: did you cut 2 5/8" off both sides of the PTO cover and just one side of the shaft? Enjoying your channel!

I cut both covers and both shafts to make it work. Thanks for watching and the nice comment! I considered the WC68 but since I have 80hp on the tractor I figured I’d go bigger. The UA-cam channel Sawing with Sandy has a good review of the WC68.

would you say it's worth getting woodchips for the price of the machine instead of burning the wood itself?
Where I live, woodchips get loaded for free. It's just that I don't know what in the chips. Termites? Plastics? Either way, I'm on the fence. I'm fine burning all yard debris that I won't use for compost, but at the same time it looks like such a convenience to have such a chipper.

We bought a load last year. $600 for the chips and $200 delivery. We will go through enough to pay for the chipper alone easily. And maybe I can sell a few scoops too!

you should have cut both ends of the shaft like you did the sheild now when you pick it all the way its going to bind

I did cut each piece of the shift. It does not bind. Thanks!
