I fully agree with you. I sold my 997 and kept the 996. I have a couple 986s. The. Sound is actually better but I do prefer the 911 drive. 991s and 992s are too big and complex. I would never get one unless it was a GT car.

The 718 base model is more car than anyone can use on the streets. Irrespective of the 4 cylinders. If you want to track the car, sure, there are better cars. As a daily, however, unbeatable.
A base 718 could run circles around my old 911. They are good cars and one thing I forgot to point out is that they are more tunable being turbocharged. The main complaint some have is note liking the exhaust note. I think they can still sound good, but some don’t like to, so just depends on who you talk to.

I would love to “settle” for a Cayman but in order for me to daily drive it I need back seats for the off chance I need to take the family somewhere. As for the Boxster, my design ego will never accept a convertible as attractive. 😔
I get what you saying about the back seats. I know that I use them when I take my kids places in my old 911.
