In 1967, a pregnant woman is attacked by a vampire, causing her to go into premature labor. Doctors are able to save her baby, but the woman dies of an unknown infection.
Thirty years later, the child has become the vampire hunter, Blade, who is a human-vampire hybrid that possesses the supernatural abilities of the vampires without any of their weaknesses; except for the requirement to consume human blood. Blade raids a Los Angeles rave club owned by the vampire Deacon Frost. Police take one of the vampires to the hospital, where he kills Dr. Curtis Webb and feeds on hematologist Karen Jenson, and escapes. Blade takes Karen to a safe house where she is treated by his old friend Abraham Whistler. Whistler explains that he and Blade have been waging a secret war against vampires using weapons based on their elemental weaknesses, such as sunlight, silver, and garlic. As Karen is now "marked" by the bite of a vampire, both he and Blade tell her to leave the city.
Meanwhile, at a meeting of the council of pure-blood vampire elders, Frost, the leader of a faction of younger vampires, is rebuked for trying to incite war between vampires and humans. As Frost and his kind are not natural-born vampires, they are considered socially inferior. In response, Frost has one of the elders executed and strips the others of their authority.
Returning to her apartment, Karen is attacked by police officer Krieger, who is a "Familiar", a human loyal to vampires. Blade subdues Krieger and uses information from him to locate an archive that contains pages from the "vampire bible". He comes upon Pearl, a morbidly obese vampire, and tortures him with a UV light into revealing that Deacon wants to command a ritual where he would use 12 pure-blood vampires to awaken the "blood god" La Magra; and Blade's blood is the key. Later, at the hideout, Blade injects himself with a special serum that suppresses his urge to drink blood. However, the serum is beginning to lose its effectiveness due to overuse. Krieger informs Frost of what happened, and Frost kills Krieger.
While experimenting with the anticoagulant EDTA as a possible replacement, Karen discovers that it explodes when combined with vampire blood. She manages to synthesize a vaccine that can cure the infected but learns that it will not work on Blade. Karen is confident that she can cure Blade's bloodthirst but it would take her years of treating it. Frost and his men attack the hideout, infect Whistler, and abduct Karen. When Blade returns, he helps Whistler commit suicide.
When Blade attempts to rescue Karen from Frost's penthouse, he is shocked to find his still-alive mother, who reveals that she came back the night she was attacked and was brought in by Frost, who appears and reveals himself as the vampire who bit her. Blade is then subdued and taken to the Temple of Eternal Night, where Frost plans to perform the summoning ritual for La Magra. Karen is thrown into a pit to be devoured by Webb, who has transformed into a decomposing zombie-like creature. Karen injures Webb and escapes. Blade is drained of his blood, but Karen allows him to drink from her, enabling him to recover. Frost completes the ritual and obtains the powers of La Magra. Blade confronts Frost after killing all of his minions, including his mother. During their fight, Blade injects Frost with all of the syringes, the overdose of EDTA causes his body to inflate and explode, killing him.

Blade is extremely strong. His human part of his blood constantly fuels his vampiric cells. Its like Superman constantly being in the sun but on a far far far lower level. This is why he has to feed on blood probably every 6 months aka his serum which is blade's blood mixed with something. He is far more powerful than Captain America being a vampire also but he is far weaker than Spider-Man who can lift over 50,000 Ibs

Snipes' Blade was among those that shaped my standard of physical condition. He IS Blade as far as I'm concerned.
That says akot as Bkade was , at best, a 3rd tier hero and not at all like Snipes Blade, but he did such a great job they retooled the comic Blade to be like the movie which was unheard of at the time, for obvious reasons.
But sadly, it was time to recast him and honestly Trinity was his weakest and you could see he wasn't as into it as he had been.
But no disrespect, Blade 2 is still in my top 5 marvel movie and top 10 action movie over all.. great cast, immersion story, and his best showing of the character, impo

Snipes is actually a multi level black belt in almost all the martial arts disciplines mentioned. He basically is “Blade” and it’s going to be hard for anyone too come close to him. Hopefully Marvel does the smart thing and at least cast Snipes as Jamal Jafari and have him train Ali on and off the screen. Even have him help with the fight choreography.
Mayweather can replace Snipes as Blade.
The only two people I would replace snipes blade with is mareese crump or Michael jai white but they don’t fool with Hollywood control can’t blame them!
I remember reading about Snipes being so absorbed in the character on the set of one if the movies (I think it was Trinity) that he literally wouldn't respond to anything other than Blade the entire time.

Seen and got all 3 in my collection. Wesley Snipes is a martial artist by heart. And has a great aptitude for it. People who doubt's his skills and acting ability are just playing themselves. Blade is this best movie that ever touch the big screen, MCU wouldn't be nothing without Blade whatsoever.

Me personally, I'd add on to what Snipes brought to the character's fighting style, giving Shotokan Karate, Hapkido, BJJ, Boxing, Capoeira, Escrima, Silat, Iaido, Kenjutsu, Aikido, Wushu, Shaolin Kung-Fu, Kobudo, Shurikenjutsu and Ninjutsu. Fits perfectly. Fast, agile, practical with a teaspoon effective and deadly 😎⚔️🗡️

There's a vast difference among the vampires too. Some of the lower mooks almost same like they're barely more than humans with fangs. Probably having none of the vampire weaknesses allows Blade to reach the height of vampire potential more easily.

Also, he does age like a human.
Might be an issue of snipes body not being able to handle the workout regime required for playing blade. He is 6 years older than jackman, even Stallone had to call it quits after the latest rambo movie. Is jackman doing another full on wolverine movie or just a cameo bit.
Either have him do a cameo as another hunter like whistler and recast blade as someone else or have a passing of the torch to the next gen.

I took my wife to see this when it first came out. The theater was so packed I had to ask a guy to switch seats so me and my lady could seat next to each other. When Blade first appears at the vampire club he stood there silently, all you heard in the theater were whistles and cheers. I felt the hairs on my neck stand as he let loose on the undead. The crowd was so hyped the ENTIRE film. He is easily the most badass character in the Marvel universe rivaling Wolverine. His rage can be felt in every scene. Marvel owes Wesley Snipes like he owed his taxes.
Preach! I took my Mom n Nem to Blade II in the theater myself and she LOVED it. I left practicing kung fu moves at the bus stop afterwards!! 😄 Hahahaha! Wesley embodied the 'superhero mantras' flawlessly imo and I echo your closing sentiment--pay this man to even be an MCU consultant cause he saved the superhero genre in that era.

I assume the ultraviolet grenades release a cloud of phosphorescent gas that emits in the UV range, which explains how the light blast travels along curved tunnels and why there is a visible shockwave, so ducking that is still largely a supersonic-level feat.

What if they're not dodging the bullet but preemptively dodging the bullet by reacting to the trigger pull or micro movements? Kind of like how boxers can read punches by watching their opponent's shoulders

Personally I think, characters without super powers dodge bullets by predicting the angle of fire, trigger timing, and pure training and experience! For ex: Batman, hawkeye etc...
Superpowered heroes can do it with their heightened senses, and speed alone! And if they train well enough they can dodge lasers or multiple lasers or they must have exceptional speed and agility like flash and spiderman ( spideysense) or any other speedsters that matter!

Why blade is stronger than all the other vampires is because his body adrenal glands are still fully functional and his body ability to produce and use adrenaline enhances his human and vampire strengths and it also accelerates his body regenerative abilities faster than the other vampires because his heart never stopped beating and because of this his speed will also be faster as well he could easily destroy and defeat every single vampire and shapeshifter wolf in the Twilight Saga without even breaking a sweat if those two stories ever did a crossover.
I saw them all in the theater back in the day. Was a fan of Snipes way before Blade, so I was pleasantly surprised when these came out. Still the standard for dark superhero films to this day. Wish there was a way to weave these into the MCU, maybe as an older Eric, training his son or anything, just to have him back.
I always felt him (Blade character) and Spawn's incredible powerful Marvel character should have done a movie crossover and could have set the stage for the MCU on the strength of incredibly strong black characters.

I think its fair to say he is a stronger version of Black Panther and Captain America with MUCH better regenerative powers. Hes essentially the ultimate super soldier.
Hes like a hybrid of Deadpool and Captrain America/ Black Panther. Hes stronger than all of them physically as well as faster, but idk if his regeneration is as good as Deadpools, unless he goes full bloodlust form.

Just letting you know that the movies CLEARLY show you how powerful Blade is inside the movie (non-MCU) cannon. I was honestly hoping for a Blade Marvel Comics power level comparison. This would have been far more interesting as again, the movie give a clear and present view of Blades level of Power in that cannon. I will say that I do enjoy the way that you do your readings, and I am guessing that you write a script and edit, then deliver after a few takes. It feels as if narrated by a professional, so kudos to you for having a talent. I would love to request a power level review and comparison for the Marvel Comics (616 Main Universe) though? Perhaps in the future, you could also present a compare & Review of Power Level for the new MCU Cannon Blade, once that releases of course. I am going to check out some more of your videos now. Ive heard lots of things about how Wesley was near impossible to work with after blade 1, so maybe they're not all that keen on giving him another shot when all he did was give a bad attitude and got extremely stoned before and in between takes.

Blade is one of thee greatest marvel characters that should be followed. But i must admit that Wesley Snipes made this character even though it came out possibly a few years after he was born. I think Stan Lee stated that after Wesley Snipes played Blade that he had to change the character's style and persona to fit blade.
Just like how there could only be one Wolverine, it is hard to think of anyone else playing blade. I will still give my support to the new actor who took up the role though.

I saw the first and the second Blade films when they came out; however, Blade three was not good. Wesley Snipes is Blade and the best at it. They would have to cast another actor, which is fine. I'll pass judgment when it's out, only because the new guy playing blade is a good actor.

Something always bothered me: if Blade just needs blood to survive, does it _have_ to be _human blood?_ Wouldn't animal blood serve to satiate him just as well, so he could do his job without hinderance?
If animal blood was enough there wouldn't be any issue for Blade and other vampires.
In other vampire movies, animal works but doesn’t fill them up like human blood. So they need to drink more animal blood to satisfy that hunger frequently.

True, the percentage of certain cell types in human and other animals are different between each other, but that doesn't effect Nutrional value. Now comparatively speaking, the _efficiency_ of human blood function is extremely high when put against other animals, but in active, larger animals with equal or higher metabolic activities, more muscle mass, and less artificial diets, the quality of blood they have could be argued to be *better* than ours, not worse. I mean think about it; your average chimpanzee, for instance, is way smaller than a human, but has _greater_ muscle mass, less fat (so fewer free floating fatty acids in the blood), would be equally calorically dense, and less effected by sugar, cholesterol, or other toxins we use, eat and absorb daily. To a vampire, it would be the equivalent of eating organic fruit, vs GMO.
We can't even say there's a big difference in terms of composition in other species. Hemoglobin is found in all vertebrates except a few fishes; it's held in the red blood cells which are generated from bone marrow, just like in man; in invertebrates, it's dissolved in blood plasma. Plasma _volume_ might be different, but that has more to do with size and activity rate than anything else. There _is_ a great variability among blood of animals that belong to different species...fish vs avian vs mammal vs reptile, for example. The greatest would probably be reptiles, given that they are poikilothermic (cold blooded). However, many animals, especially primates and mammals, have more _similarities_ with humans in blood components than they do differences, natural diseases notwithstanding, of course.
So if the point of Vampire society is to live long and keep it secret, why do they choose to feed on the _one creature_ that it would *draw attention to* if they go missing? You'd _think_ every smart vampire would just invest in sheep and pig farms, raise them organically, slaughter them mercifully, sell the meat to human stores and use the blood to sustain vampires who then no longer _have_ to kill humans...BAM! Food chain issue fixed, and a BUILT IN cliental *guaranteed* to keep returning for more.
And here I thought most vampires were capitalist, or at least smart.....

She didn’t dodge the blast she got burned by it. They don’t die from light hitting them automatically. There’s a bunch of scenes of them getting nipped by sun and getting burned but getting away into the shadows. They don’t die by sunlight touching them. They have to get direct sunlight hitting them in its full capacity to instantly burn.

In my opinion the only person who can do well as wesley snipes as blade would be Michael Jai White cuz he's played a super hero before, is proficient in martial arts a and can choreograph a fight scene (snipes choreographed every fight seen himself) he even has respect for snipes and would do the character justice anybody else agree with me or am I alone in this opinion

but blades healing is great, i remember seeing an image of wolverine stabbing him in the head. im assuming he lived, he also stabbed loki the same way. both alive so blades vampire healing is his biggest strength
cap and black panther can be killed by bullets to the body if they get hit enough times. heck kilmonger died with a blade to the chest. bullets or getting impaled wont kill blade. vampires regen from anything that isnt decapitation or vampire killing weapons
So to conclude... In other words Blade is a complete and utter Badasss, with a capital 'B' and ranks as one of MARVEL's top total "kickass" characters lol

IMO i believe that most vampires, and this is a very crude analogy, initially begin on equal footing, so to speak.. Most can easily take down the vast majority of humans with ease. Being much stronger and faster than humans they simply have not need to do any special training.. BUT if they train in various fighting styles and work to enhance their abilities, then they become more powerful.. Similar to bodybuilders, athletes, etc.. Blade, the Bloodpack, etc. all trained fanatically so they simply overmatch just about any other vampire.. Some are naturally more gifted, Dracula, Nomak, the Reapers etc. while normal vampires have to train MANIACALLY to get even close..
BLADE hated other vampires .. Hatred and anger can be powerful motivators.. Couple that with the fact that he hadn't fed on humans since puberty via his serum... His body had adjusted to the serum to a certain extent.. BUT when he consumed Karen's blood and when he fell in that vat of blood in Blade 2, it probably supercharged him even moreso than most vamps.. He seemed to be even more deadly and powerful.. Another Crude analogy would be drugs.. A person consumes cocaine regular they can get high, BUT a person who endulges once every few years gets amped up MUCH MORE SO..

Blades senses are well above Deadpool, you mean his senses are not on Wolverine's level. Blade senses are beyond Deadpool's. Deadpool breaking The Fourth Wall is different.

Being a hybrid should make him weaker than a full vampire... Otherwise everyone would just hybrid with everything and will be 100% + 100% = 200% instead of 100% + 100% = 50%/50%
Blade has the advantage of improving himself through training like a human but with vampiric recovery and supernatural evolvement, vampires are only as strong as there bloodline allows them to be, there are vampires much stronger than Blade but those vampires that exceed pureblood are very rare.
@@johnbishop2536 anyone can train too. Bloodlines are just genetic traits. Physicality can always be improved.
