Join Bella Eberz, Zoe surfer girl, Mana, Sam Schatz, and many more surfing Queens Surf Break in Waikiki in this 3 part Long Lens Series. Can we get this video in HDR please (and any others that you have HDR source footage for)! In my opinion, your channel has some of the highest quality HDR 60 FPS footage on UA-cam (of any genre) and looks absolutely gorgeous on HDR TVs and monitors. Thanks for your content!
Oh this is really good feedback thank you! The problem with HDR is when we push it to 1000 nits it looks good on HDR TV’s and monitors but it appears blown out on older computers and TV’s but yes we’ll edit the next video in HDR and see how that works out 👍🏽
@@oahuforjustice I understand the problem with older devices, but if you have the time, my suggestion would be to simply upload both a SDR and HDR version of each video (I see you did this for a few videos already, but months apart?) and link to both in each video description so people can easily compare. I do feel it is almost a crime to not release these video in HDR if you have a master in HDR given how great they look! Thanks again for your videos!
@@benteitler I see what you mean. It’s not that easy unfortunately, it’s a tedious color grading task for task for both versions. We’ll probably just do HDR going forward unless we start getting complains about it. Thanks again for the suggestion
@@oahuforjustice Makes sense. I think that's the way to go (HDR version), as the HDR to SDR tone mapping seems to work pretty well on UA-cam on most devices and also many PC video players out of the box, and will continue to improve over time on various software (VLC and PotPlayer worked out of the box for me on a Windows 11 machine with an NVIDIA 3080 on an SDR Monitor). Sadly, the built in Windows Media Player cannot seem to handle your videos (and others I've tested), and does wash out the colors (shame on Microsoft), so there will certainly be some pockets of incompatibility for a while.
@@benteitler Yes I have considered your advice, I will make the SDR version first and then the HDR version second 👍🏽 uploading HDR videos is a long process because either you have to upload h.265 or pro res 422 which can take up to a week to process on UA-cam

What camera and lens are being used on the beach to capture the footage please?
It’s got to be a prime lens because I don’t see any zooming and my guess is he’s using a Sony or Nikon flagship camera. This footage tack sharp! A little tight for my liking though
This first video was a test so you’re looking at a 600mm prime with a 2x extender. Nikon is King and that’s all I’m going to say about that, good luck to you. More long lens tests are coming once I have the time to edit
