- A true artist of classic longboarding, Laure Mayer has found her rhythm and her lifestyle in Byron Bay, Australia. A life of surfing, travelling and encounters that has allowed this entrepreneur to build friendships all over the world. Back in Europe, she decided to go on a road trip along France, Spain and Portugal, in which Laure met Estelle, Paula, Andrea, Inés and Ria. Just like Laure, these surfers have chosen a lifestyle that allows them to enjoy the priceless freedom of surfing as often as possible.
Directed by Romain and Laura Decomble, OBSEASSION is a 30-minute documentary that offers a portrait of six proud women of this generation of longboarders that claim their spot in the line-up to simply enjoy and glide from the nose of their boards.

What a beautiful movie with incredible women's voices. So many phrases echo my experience as a woman surfer. Love this and will watch over and over again. Puts a huge smile on my face and stoke in my heart.
15:37 is one of the most incredible images I've seen in a long time. She looks like she's moving through time, her eyes on the future, her body and board navigating the now, the spray and wake are already in the past. Love this one, and the photographer's statement, "not perfect, but imperfect is good as well..." is so at peace and Zen-like that I think I'll be repeating it soon (thank you! : )

Thanks for sharing this special video to express a female perspective on surfing. I like the way a couple of the ladies talk about being more about gliding and moving with the wave instead of attacking the wave with radical cutbacks, tricks and so on. I think there's room for some aggressive surfing, too, but I appreciate the woman's point of view on harmonizing with the wave. It's also fun to see long board surfing as the emphasis here. Laure is an excellent surfer and a beauty as well.

1991 at 29’ in France
I started longboard
2018 at 56’ I stoped surfing
But « AimeOcean » still give « EmOcean » at 62’… when I watch you ladies and that remind me Rell Sunn

amazing to see passionate women on the waves. it inspires me. but i wish it was less gender about beauty, esthetics, longboard... i'm not sure there is a feminine way to surf.. some women prefer short boards, some men prefer to chill out on long boards. but still a good film thanks for that !
