I had the *_BEST PLEASURE MEETING DR. FUNKENSTEIN & PARLIAMENT-FUNKADELIC_* at a small Hotel I managed back in 2010. Bone tired & I was just about to end My overnight-shift at 7 AM on a Monday morning, but didin't. Phone rings, a lady asks to reserve 10 rooms, 7 days for George Clinton. I'm like _George Clinton??!!_ I contained My excitement not knowing for sure if she meant *THEE GEORGE **_"Dr. Funkenstein"_** CLINTON.* I reserved rooms & stayed past My shift just to be sure it was him & the Band. A large tour bus pulls up, I still held My excitement professionally ... then they walked in one by one. I recognized a couple of them, but I still almost wasn't satisfied until HE ... *Dr. Funkenstein* walked in. He had a golden-orange glow that surrounded him as he floated into the hotel doors ... *_!!!SKRRECH!!!_* ... Naah I'm lying, but he might as well have done that. But really when he walked in, next thing I knew several people were coming in from outside running up to hug him & the Band. I was praying not too many fans were coming to the hotel it was about 20-30 people. Dr. Funkenstein was happy taking pictures with fans. My thing is, how did people outside hotel know they were coming. I never said a word before they came to anyone, not being sure initially. Either way I had to be accommodating and courteous. They stayed in Buffalo, NY where My hotel is, but was performing in Toronto Canada. Toronto,Ontario is about an hour+ outside Buffalo,NY. One of the Guys told Me they stay in hotels outside of cities they perform in to cut down on being mobbed by too many fans. Makes sense. The week they stayed was great. I'm glad I booked an entire floor for them all. If not there would be complaints from other hotel guests for smoking & weed smoking _(non-smoking hotel)_ loud music, etc. They was chill, not wild, mostly good people I assume for their stay. That was the only time I had some fun at work. I chopped up game with them, smoked & drank on the job with them & got pictures of *_Me, Dr. Funkenstein & Parliament P-FUNK A DELIC._*
I saw the Mothership land back in 1979!! It tore the roof of the Mother ! I thought it was going to blow up! I was 16 yrs..my first UFO!! Zapp opened for P funk! Roger mooned the crowed!!
Still gives me goosebumps to this day, & I'm 63. A concert experience like no other.
