I don’t think we have a choice. Destiny is predestined I have seen powerful clairvoyant and predicted my future to the letter. How could they see into the future and happens. Because fate never changes and if you decide to do one thing with your WILL , it’s not the conscious you who made that decision, it’s YOU the soul compelling you to do it via your subconscious.
You are mostly correct but not fully. As Maharaj Ji said, our current destiny is the results of our past choices and our future destiny would be based on our current choices. For the current destiny - we only have choice to respond/react to the present situation (The is the only free will we have). Practically, the bigger events in our life (such as job, marriage, health etc) are for sure pre-destined (based on our past choices). But how we handle them presently is our choice. Hope that helps!
@HashiraofDark thx my dear, One thing though , religion beliefs are man made and THE only way to get to the truth is from within. I’m 73 and finally realized how much we get attached to religion. 🙏🏼✌️
If you were sent back in time to correct a bad choice you had made, but were unaware that you had been sent back, then you would make the same choice again, because lets say you were angry or drunk and it was that that made you make that choice. Then you would be still be drunk and angry no matter how many times you were sent back you would make the same mistake. Remember you are still in the same position when you go back, you are not aware of the future. This shows you that you only had one outcome. So no choice.
If someone is going on a vacation but that person met an accident and died on the spot than the death was not his/her choice. His /her choice was vacation but that person died because it was written.
Radha Nath Swami is going around this question of choice because there’s not clearcut answers whether we have choices or are they predetermined. My take is , there are no choices; everything is predetermined. Suppose someone smokes cigarettes until he gets lung cancer and dies. Death by lung cancer is predetermined and no forces can change that.
With due respects to you sir, I don’t entirely agree with your views. If everything is pre-determined then our life would be meaningless and a life of slavery controlled by an unknown entity ! I would say that our life can be controlled and moulded to a certain extent, though not entirely!
Not really sir, humans do have free will..just look at itihasas for that...let's take Mahabharata for example....all of lord Krishna's son's die becuase of the curse of a rishi so you can say that the death of lord Krishna's son is presdestined at that point...but the reason for which curse was given was because of the mischievous behavior of lord Krishna's sons(they actually put a pillow in their stomach and say that they are pregnant to the rishi so the rishi gets angry and curses them)so the reason for their death was ultimately becuase of their free will.....let's take another example the great king bharata mentioned in srimad bhagavatam.....he was a great king and renounced his kingdom during final stage of his life and was doing great tapasya..but he then gets attracted to a baby deer and at the time of death he remembers the baby deer and takes the birth of a baby deer in his next life...as lord Krishna says in Gita...whatever a person thinks of during his final breath, that state they shall attain in their next life...so humans have control over thier life by making Decisions and we do have free will...but we say our lives are mostly pre destined becuase marriage, carrier and health are granted by our past life karmas and as they make up most of the human life we say it's destined...but our decision making at moments in day to day life our completely in our control....like lord Krishna says in Gita...the spiritual insight of a person gets carried to the next lives so you could say you insight is destined but it's ultimately becuase you have developed it through out the life times...
What if it’s the perception of free will and not free will alone. How would we tell the difference. And what would be so bad about observing this life as the main character. This life is a blip in time so why the huge concern about free will. If we had true free will would we not do all the things we know we should do and not all the things we know we’re not supposed to do? Would enjoying the perception of free will (but not actually having it) free us to look within? Allow detachment?
