Have you done an air intake? If not, check out the rade garage storage kit. Adds storage and a small air box. Makes it even easier to work on the bike. I put one on my 690 SMC R. I have a video on my channel.
Totally agree on your comments. Speed is way less important to me then fun a speeds you can actually do on the road. Have had my SMC R for a month and it’s the best bike I have ever had. I have had standards, sport bikes, dirt bikes and ridden a few cruisers. SM is my favourite!
I have a K&N air filter but I’m planning on upgrading to a Rottweiler intake at some point ;)
I’ve got some things that need paying off and a huge mods list that I’m working on too, nowhere near done with this bike, going to be fully modded out at some point.

Would you recommend a 501 at 19 ?
If you're just taking your cbt I wouldn't recommend going for a Husqvarna 501 until you've gained more experience but then again, you might be perfectly fine on a bike.
At the end of the day you control your wrist and the throttle, as long as you're smart and don't push your limits, be extra cautious and are comfortable on that bike you should be completely fine.

Thinking of swapping my big and heavy 1290 Superduke R for a supermoto. I prefer the look of the 701 but the KTM EXC F 500 is way lighter at 113kg (vs 156kg for the 701). The only thing I'm concerned about is the KTM needs an oil change and valve clearance check every 15 hours or roughly 750km (vs every 10,000km on the 701).
Just wondering if you ever swapped the super duke for a super Moto?

Reevy, for an A2 bike, would you choose an MT-03 or Husqvarna Vitpilin 401?... If you were to choose between those bikes... (as they are good bikes on a budget)
I wouldn’t choose either personally but the 401 would be my go to , I’m on an A2 and riding a 701 or go for an MT-07 unless you’re a new rider then go for something with less power, but in my opinion going for the bigger bike is the way to go if you’re careful :)

Why do you need to change the clutch slave cylinder?
Common problem with these bikes, it's one of those things that's going to fail eventually and leave you stranded, best to replace it with an Oberon then you'll never have to worry about it again :)

@@Enduro262 I heard the 2018 models had some issues with engine failure and had to be recalled, the 2020 model has clutch slave problems (example: ua-cam.com/video/gWRdtUk86NY/v-deo.html) but this is also a problem on pretty much every 701, some people are lucky and go 30k miles with no problems, others go 2k miles and it fails.
Replaced my clutch slave cylinder with an Oberon for peace of mind, other than that I have a 2016 with no problems :) (also 2016 doesn't have an SAS so that saves you one mod that most people do)
