When you asked what he's smelling, a van carrying supplies for his shop had a crash outside of the school and the kids (and as it turns out one of the teachers) stole the candys, chips, gum, and other snacks and he's sniffing their breath to tell what they've stolen and collect the payment for what they stole.
Navid is just one of the boys and all of the boys in Still Game are funny...Mina reminds me of my mother the way she talked to my dad and vice versa actually, then again that is just the way Glaswegians talk to each other.
I knew Mina was speaking to him in a very offhand and abusive way even though I couldn’t understand her language … and it was hilarious , this is a universal comedy and could’ve been set in a thousand different locations throughout the world but I’m proud it was set in my own country of Scotland 🏴 👍🏴
I think they were never clear about Navid’s heritage on purpose so that he could have come from either India or Pakistan. Sometimes things are said throughout the series that make you think he’s Indian and other times, Pakistan. Fun fact, the actor who plays Navid only speaks English so he and the actress who played Mina would get together and he’d get her to translate the required parts from English and then teach home how to say it. I love seeing people from different countries react to one of the most popular TV series from my home country. This show is a very good example of working class people in Scotland but more than that, it really shows the Scottish humour that we have, down to the words and way we say things. It’s a fantastic show. It is universal though as this series could have been set in any city in the world. That’s part of the genius. ✌🏻 from Scotland 🏴

Hello Neha I've just come across your posts. I've subscribed.
I love Navid, i believe he would be a true British patriot.
Still game one of my favourite comedy programs .
My local shop is owned by a couple called Navid (although spelt Naveed) and Meena! Great reaction and I absolutely love your accent Neha.

I found that if you have the subtitles on, it actually translates what she says and it's incredibly hilarious
Glasgow loves you xxx
