Don't know if its a thing, but maybe problem with collision on race start is because players have a gap between being teleported to map start and removing their collision, so you collide with new racers?
Because 90% of MP client users are there for RP, and SAMP is full of RP servers. In Russia, there is literally server groups with 10+ servers with full 1000/1000 players on all of them. Of course there is RP in MTA too, but 10k+ people in one community? There isn’t
All you need is one unmodded installation of GTA:SA (should be automatically downgraded if needed) and the MTA installer which will take care of everything.
I hope JoshimuzFanGirl is in this too and lasts longer than you in the PVP* maps, no pun intended. *What's the actual name for those maps, the ones where you have to either have to destroy the other player's car or push them off a building. I know it's not PVP.
but actually on that path Josh was driving there's no resistance zones at all :D back at 2:22:10 the orange and pink path is not covered as a "air resistance zone" thats why mindreflex gained that much speed, or rather, he kept on accelerating where others (driving on a road) didn't. Edit: he later clarified the path on strip :P
Josh, netcode is always janky. In my experience, most users experience lag because their router, modem, internet upload/download speed, and/or computer is seriously outdated. Heck, sometimes it's because they're using WiFi instead of Ethernet.
Just on PC. It's very esay to pirate the game and install the MTA client. Most computers today should be able to run it with no problem, it's a 20 year old game.

Because samp was first and shows up on Google if you search "San Andreas multiplayer"
Some pirate versions of SA came with SAMP, and it was better "advertised" (every free software website had a page on SAMP)
Personally, I always wanted to try MTA but could never get it to work, unlike SAMP. But I was a dumb kid back then
