I've done that exact thing with my last grow. Just getting ready to harvest drop the temperature around 65°F For the last 4 to 5 weeks of flower. and the Bud production is massive.
Agree- it's almost worth not running indoors during the summer quarter and using the free grow light in the sky instead. Or just do both and be vigilant
Great information. I dont like to go above 72F in flower after the buds start forming. Then ramp it down slowly to 65F, then back up slowly to 72F. Less stress and better smelling flowers. To get some nice color, I cold-water shock every other flush for 1 week.
I run LEDs and keep temps around 78-82F for veg then work my way to about 74F by the end of flower. Night time temps usually get to about 64-66F. These temps seem to get me a good balance of quality, yield, density and terpene content 💚👨🏽🌾💨💨✌🏽
23-24C in day time and 17-18C at night time I keep temps at. I get frosted up buds within 3 weeks from flip. cold temps at night helps a lot while keeping a perfect balance in day time is hard but is possible. If done correctly you'll see some great results🎉
Wow, wow and just another wow. Let's see how the growing community both home and commercial accept this revelation. The evidence is there, great work guys on your vids, both parties ❤❤❤😊
Ive got a/c on 24/7 here in Hawaii and a dehumidifier running 24/7 . I run my Temps in flower at 68° to 70° at night and stay around 75° with lights on. Humidity varies with rain outside, so i try to keep it around 60 to 65rh.vpd takes priority with the triggers I've set. I try to emulate fall conditions in my tent.
Important question: When they did the temperature test, did they maintain the high (or low) flowering temperature 24/7? Or more realistically with 12 hours at 70f (average ac'd home temp) and the other 12 hours at the higher temp? That is a huge difference that needs to be clarified please.
I would love to see you do a video on aeroponics I can’t find much information on irrigation times how long to spray and how long between spraying does air need to be introduced to the root chamber and do these values change when increasing co2 I would love to hear the opinion of experts in the field
why isnt anyone talking about shifting vpd Raising and lowering your humidity in 12/12 cycle with 60/80% during flower can greatly increase trichome production
Genetics are the main factor keeping the AC in the room on energy efficient around 73 to 74. I’ve noticed a big increase in growth and health of my plants.
I would love to know whether or not surface leaf temperature is the same temperature as what he was talking about. Like do I Go off of ambient temperature or do I use my laser gun and Check the temperature of the buds themselves.....
We've always known that lowering the temperature towards the end of harvest increases potency.. it's the way of nature. It wasn't until recent years / LED lights, that higher temperatures were promoted. I've always kept my room 75 day and 65 night. That's hard for most in a tent with an LED light that is not vented.. in my opinion that's where "80° is optimal"came from.
Its alll about STRESS! IM NEW AND I FIGURED IT OUR? Just like studies show hydroponic growing actually promotes healthy stress which creates more potency or at least higher levels of terps and oils but that goes hand in hand with potency which comes down to genetics and environmental conditions. I think that the cold is just another stressing technique but who knows.
I would not go 68° daytime temperature unless You're growing short dense indicas or you're really trying to push anthocyanins.. only during the last two weeks of flower
The 68 is for last month of flower during lights on. If you struggle with high temps, run lights at night. If you have low temps, only a heater can help you.
Very interested to see this study. Especially since I was of the understanding that lower temps caused the plant to produce anthocyanins which reduces their production of cannabinoids/ terpenes/flavonoids. 🤔 Either way I'm sick of fighting this desert. Looking into a mini split. ✌️💙🌱🌵
I don't mean to sound sarcastic but that's how they grow in the wild LOL, it's nothing new they Veg in summer and flower towards winter, bit of a NO Brainer Really
Make it make sense. We run leds and they say optimal temps should be on the high scale. Run co2 and they say you need temps high. So wheres the happy spot? Just throw everything away that youve learned and slam the temps as low as you can get. The science hasnt been consistent over the years frfr.
no your conflating two things; higher temps and CO2 are better for GROWTH lower temps are better for the last weeks, the "ripening"/development of the buds after the growth is done
I mean even during the last week's it's still optimal within reason to keep normal temps during lights on. It's when lights off the temps should drop during the last week's. Your daytime temps can just remain normal
I'm struggling to maintain around 80F. I'd have to keep my lung room at 60-65F to get those temps. Unless you're talking about a sealed system all that cool air would get vented, my boomer dad would have a heart attack LOL

cool news 😎 best thing would be to start growing in a fall and harvest in winter
these are my best grows
That is the best way that what I do

Thats what we do in the canary islands.best quality harvested in feb..over 30% on alot of strains but less yield..💯💥
Glad I grow in cellar. Was afraid my temps can go to low next weeks. But its sittin prfect at 20-21 instead of 23 like during spring/fall.

I run 29-30c at day and 26-27 at night and have frost from week 1-2. Drop Temps at week 6. My last harvest tested 28.9 thc 32% total cannabinoids
Cooler temps less light 11on 13 off Is my sweet spot. 24c in the day and 19c at night and my buds are happy.
@@ThegreenJ helllzzz yea! Perfect temps 😁

I've been growing a plant that's about five weeks old now. The temperature has been between 40s and 50s. L o l she's doing great
Omyyy
Another reason to run your lights at night is reduced rates for electricity , off peak is half of peak rate in many municipalities.

I keep my whole house around high 60sF to low 70sF pretty much all year round. In MI.
Timely video, thanks guys.

Hello Shane, it works , im guessing the cold keeps the terps in the plant instead of venting off gas. Less nitrogen when budding makes more thc.
👍🏽Have had issue flowering in Summer foxtails never. During winter harvests. Cooler temps

Great Information. This underscore Dr. B. Bugbee's research about cooler temps during the second half of flower!
why isnt anyone talking about shifting vpd Raising and lowering your humidity in 12/12 cycle with 60/80% during flower can greatly increase trichome production
at 68f you'd be running 60+% humidity going by vpd chart, the video should have made reference to this

thanks again Chris

I got at least 10 days left on a tent, just shut off my heater 😂 lights on is gonna be tricky.

I just found out right now
But I thought terps burn off at or around 80. I try for 78 but end up at 79🤷
Can/should i run the lower temps from flip or only during the second half of flower?

my man
68 degree with lights on or at night with lights off? If with lights on any recommendation for temp at night?

I trust you but when I hear “What I gathered from what I was told.” I’ll wait for definitive answers or do my own research,as should we all.

Do you have a link to where you read this information? I'd like to read up on it if possible?
Anthocyanins are water-soluble flavonoids I thought.
AC Infinity LED lights have IR which helps great for a little bit of heat
ir is useless
@@timsmyth7942 Not for a little heat in winter man

currently at 100F inside the flower tent. lmfao 🥲
Lol check for herms because that just happened to me last month.
Praying for your terps bud 🙏
I've grown dank in those temps. The yield suffered a bit though.
this cant be the full story. stuff shouldnt volatize at 68 degrees idk
