How He Has Been Reusing Coco Coir With Synthetic Nutrients For The Past 6 Years…
great talk
Do you generally follow a schedule of feeding with nutrient added, followed by plain ph'd water etc?
Hes wrong about arsenic in kelp too doesnt hurt a thin natural occurring isn't like its been added by man its NATURE LOL who is this idgit
ive just transplanted a plant with similar product to stash blend .great white. and literally a day later the plants where larger and looks very healthy... its crazy
When it comes to foliager feeding them with Epsom salts does it matter what the ppms are or because it’s just magnesium it won’t burn the plants
✌️😎🔥🔥🔥
And I think drying should not be that long. And I think curing is a part of the drying process. I also think that drying should be done in a closed container and the moisture expelled at a Certain volume until dry. Those grove bags have it almost right
First keep the room at temperature. Second keep the air moving. Third the room should be kept at or around the same humidity. If you can keep those environmental stats the same then you should be fine
I'm using / Rootwise microbe complete-VEG / Rootwise bio phos-Flower / Rootwise Soil Dynamics Bio-Catalyst Enzyme.>@ 1ml per gallon of H20- each time I use microbe! They are working great for me, BEST in class I ever used now growing 35 years I'm in Living Soil
id would be curious to see if anyone has tried pushing a fully flowered plant for more than a couple days of light, like a week or two, and then chop off a nugget ever couple days to dry and then test
i have no idea where i heard it but i heard this too, if you turn the lights out a lot of the nutrients or starch or something will go to the roots and the flower uses up the energy, i thought the idea was this, so the flower has less nutrients left over at the end? but i guess pushing the plant hard would do a better job at that then letting the plant die off in the dark? i dunno i trust this guy so im going to try running my lights for 24 hours before harvest. tbh i highly doubt any change for 24 hours will impact much unless its excessive heat or wind
How does the Hydroxide present in Stash Blend affect it's ability to do what it's supposed to do?
It's really not in there anymore, but from a regulatory standpoint (fertilizer laws), it needs to be on the label since it was used when creating. It's used in seaweed extraction to concentrate it down. It allows you to form a soluble compound vs milling which breaks it down to a powder. Milling leaves the cell walls and other fibrous materials, lignin, things we don’t really want. Some potassium is left over. KOH -> OH reacts to hydrogen from the acids and forms water. Results in potassium K+ that has already reacted with an acidic compound in that seaweed extract.
Plants could take 2000 umol from the sun .. before they were selectively bred indoors. It’s a cop out to think the old school land races have the same traits as the newer varieties.
With time and effort comes the knowledge of your failures. Learn from what you are doing basically
Using Wollastonite w-10 @1g per liter of soil for years, thanks to Bugbee. It's about 55% silica and 45% calcium. It's available right away and releases over a long period. It's was a game changer for training. The branches have been easier to bend and less brittle.
Right! We’ve been following Dr Bugbee’s advice and have used Wollastonite for the last 3 grows. Ridiculously inexpensive and our plants couldn’t be happier.
I use power SI and Power SI bloom. I rarely need a trellis. Branches get so strong
This discussion is like petrol cars vs EVs or HPS vs LED. Many organic growers remind me of vegans
Cool content. Much appreciated 👍 Smoke test please 😁
I do something similar to that
Love the content dump!!! Nothing like current advice
Keeping an eye out for chill out seeds 🙏
You have to work with what’s available to you, and within your financial means. Keep doing you man. We all grow in our own way. 🌱
I have only ever grown here in the Caribbean. Rich natural living soil, cut with a good quality potting soil with worm casting. We have the richest natural soil in the world here Exclusively watered with rain water. We put them to sleep in black out boxes. No additional external nutes. Just consistent hot and bright sunlight. Massive frosty stinky and sticky colas. Huge yields. No need to flush at all. The process is uncomplicated and natural. An endless summer helps massively with that being said, because the season never ends. Year round planting.
Im using stash blend. Has a soy sauce smell when mixed ...AND I LOVE IT🔥
Living soil/ organic clean rice hulls & little & diatomaceous earth is 80-90% silica too
i use silica in my garden , ive noticed stronger plants since i started using it .
I’m using rice hulls as a mulch. They provide aeration and also silica as it breaks down in the soil. It was something like $4-5 bucks at the brew shop for a 5 gallon bucket.
What's wild is every time I search random things that can harm/benefit my garden, mr.grow it ,cltv ,or pigeon has the right advice or podcast! Big thanks to all the stash guys that put out amazingly informative content from trusted sources!
It’s all about sharing the info and helping people out! Cheers!
Is it the same as silicate? I have Terra Aquatica natural silicate powder
i'm using stash blend rn and i got the best roots of my life. whole pot is filled up w no room for soil almost. always love mr grow it videos and talks 👌
That’s great to hear! 👍
An owner of a local grow facility told me he uses UVC and HEPA filters on incoming air, and keeps his building under a positive pressure. His workers have specific work areas to avoid cross contamination. Also, he says he uses Kangen water to spray the leaves. The high pH water and low pH water are used to change the pH of the leave surface to discourage PM. That's how baking soda works, but it leaves residue. The Kangen water is much cleaner to use- but EXPENSIVE to produce. The low pH water has hypochlorous acid in it, which quickly degrades after production. The water must be used fairly fresh. The time to learn about powdery mildew is before you get it, not after.
The key is early detection. Overcrowding is said to create an environment for it to take hold. I think overcrowding is also a way for it to go undetected for longer. In the world of 'regular' agriculture, new fungicides are constantly being developed. It's almost impossible to stay ahead of the new variants that keep coming out. Apparently, powdery mildew evolves faster than any other organism. I've fought with it for years (ever since I moved here), yet some folks say they sprayed once with baking soda and soapy water and it was gone. Why the disparity? I think it's because ALMOST getting rid of it in a perpetual grow situation helps the PM adapt and become stronger. My 'folly' is to keep holding onto mother plants of strains I like. Growing from seed is the way I'm going now. I don't see any of it anywhere in my house but I know if I turn my back it will return.
Mr. Growit, I hope you don't mind me clogging up this comment section. PM is my dearest enemy. We have had a long-standing adversarial relationship. Some people say it's systemic. I think it's locally systemic. It does burrow into the leaf tissue to feed and anchor itself. If the leaves are sprayed enough times, it can be killed off. I have completely eradicated it with a sulfur burner, but that comes with its own issues. NOT recommended. Dr. Doom 420 at 12ml./litre was very helpful in keeping it away while plants were just going into 12/12. It kept it away for 10 days with one application. I use Lost Coast Plant Therapy at 14ml./litre prophylactically in my veg room once a week. The logic is this: Powdery mildew takes 10-14 days to become visible to the naked eye. By that time, it's already reproducing. Spraying the plants 'just because' Is good preventative maintenance. I will even spray in the first 2-3 weeks in flower. Recently, I was talking with a grower that really 'gets around'. As I said elsewhere, my area is a hotbed of powdery mildew. I live in an agricultural area. He said people that are selling infected clones are spraying them with the Lost Coast to hide the fact that they have PM. He's right that it hides it. I've had customers say they sprayed once and it was GONE! If only that were true.
I got a great recipe for Orthosilicic acid using Armor Si and few other cheap ingredients that makes a stable Orthosilicic acid. You get 2 gallons of Power Si basically for the price of 1 quart of Armor Si and some boric acid a magnetic stirrer .
so hermed plants make feminized seeds if bred with a female?? thats good to know if I understand this correctly
Oh damn. That's unfortunate info. Haha.
Unfortunate but fascinating
People spouting pgr comments need to fix up. Growing organic with seaweed - pgrs in the seaweed naturally develop. Theres many many organic naturally produced pgrs that plants and us use every day. If youre talking about synthetic pgrs than say that. Anyone just pushing pgrs bad who doesnt understand the difference needs to calm down and read a bit instead of just following the sheep and parroting poorly formed 'wisdom' they heard from someone else that also doesnt understand what theyre talking about.
He’s missing the point about Brix.
I don't Ph anything anymore. I love it! Started with Ocean forest and Down to earth amendments. Once the grow is done I clean up the soil a bit reamend and go again with no issues so far. I'm sure being on well water helps me as well.
Did my comment step on toes too hard to be allowed to be shown? That seems the only reason for it to be hidden.
? No idea what comment you’re talking about. But yeah if people report your comment then UA-cam removes it. Or if it breaks UA-cam TOS then a MOD would remove it.
What can you do for plants that are a little yellow in the flowering stage? Instead of spraying the plant with the epsom salt could you add it to the soil?
A home grower might be concerned about how to prevent infected seeds from entering the home environment
alter der kollege ist ja mal mega high :D
Sunrise Sunset helps to control humidity and temperature spikes / drops when the lights drastically turn on / off.
lost me with the lack of data or any actual evidence of anything. opinions are cool but not even being confident in those opinions ... na im good. i wanna see data. so much for science ......
I have to say it’s works for me. Though I don’t just wash , I’ll plunge it in and out of 3 bucks 1st hot water 1/3 cup of lemon juice and baking soda , 2nd 1/2 peroxide warm water , 3rd ice water for rinsing, hang in front of a fan until no longer dripping hang for drying. I separate the effective areas to a different drying location and monitor the dry session. I’ve had great success.
I mostly see purple stems on some pants during flower.. up the phosphorous?
If PM was really this pervasive half the weed grown in the world would end up in the trash.
It IS that pervasive where I live. It's the most common cannabis problem here at home and at the grow store where I work. It also ruins gardens here. I live a stone's throw from Lake Erie. BIG problem here! A guy I spoke to that owns a grow facility told me he spent 400,000 dollars on UVC lighting alone to combat PM. The lights are in the air intakes, so they don't kill the plants and the people, just the PM spores that try to come in. As a home grower for 4 decades, I can honestly say that this is a relatively new crisis. And it IS a crisis for many of us. I grew for over 25 years without ever seeing PM. A lot of folks don't know that PM is not just one thing. There are as many strains as there are marijuana strains. OK, maybe not NOW ;) I have read thousands of pages about this, and used many products and practices to combat it, with varying levels of success. I respect Jorge Cervantes, but hydrogen peroxide does not work to kill it, or to wash it off. What's being washed off is only the loose fruiting bodies that help it spread.
Generally spread through the air is a far more accurate statement. It can be spread by clones but also just walking in the garden center at home depot or your back yard. PM is just something that exists almost everywhere where the humidity and temperatures allow. That’s why cleanliness is key to keep indoor gardens healthy and happy. Will this post ? Or remain hidden like the others.
I bought an Air-o-Clean air cleaner that uses UVC and 'photocatalytic oxidation' to destroy spores in the air. I guess the problem with that is that some of the spores land on a neighboring plant and take hold before they can get to the air cleaner. It cost me 1700 dollars and needs 200 bucks in filters and bulbs/year. The mildew didn't seem to notice. Thinking of viruses recently, I thought maybe it would be a good idea for climate control systems to have air travelling in an upward direction. If somebody breathed out a virus or bacteria, it would rise and be neutralized, rather than travelling sideways to the next person. Exchange people and viruses with plants and spores, and it seems (to me) that it could be effective.
If you know mildew and mold, the answer is NO
