Thanks for the tips and tricks I've been struggling with keeping up with hunger and yeah the tools and clothing too! I'm on my second go around and doing better but now struggling again haha.
You got this! The game makes you feel like you are walking in a thin ice all the time - but at one point you will stand firmly and nothing will get in your way! Happy hunting ;)
I haven't played StAM since last October and heard about the shattered hope update. Started playing rebirth and after watching this video, I'm wishing I disabled shatter hope. 😢
I tried and suffered through first few hours of Shattered Hope and then furious dropped out and after checking the Steam reviews and comments for the DLC, turning it off was the best decision :D
@@MLMariss I restarted my game. Once I was getting hit with propaganda It was too much chaos. The blight was overwhelming at first. I never needed to build guard towers or keep scouting towers. Now it's kind of like tower defense
I've just used shanty's instead of tenements and I'm doing fine with shattered hope on all difficulty settings maxed, in fact it's more of a help than hinderance due to the moon rocks. I just overtime the moon rock gatherer 100% of the time, and alternate my workers on steel, plastic, concrete, and wood, and just overtime whatever I'm gathering at the moment, I only need 1\4th the workers since I gather one thing at a time and just stock up, it also means the deposits produce twice the resources since they aren't being gathered without overtime. The shanties ensure that I'm only losing happiness from catastrophies, but gain daily happiness instead of losing it every time the colonists sleep. Im even getting a net gain of moon rocks. That's the easiest way to turn shattered hope into a boon rather than hindrance. I don't even have a trauma center. Haven't needed one yet. I rushed happiness tech and use it as well, keeping my colonist consistently hopeful without the colony square, don't need moon rocks for anything but overtime. The rest make for good trade money.
Hmm..this sounds very good and heavy shift from original play mechanics 🤔 tried too hard to gather it all I guess! Thank you for the comment and knowledge sharing! 😉
FIRST thing you research is scrapper from resources tab to get metal to build outpost so you can go out and get more research or you will have to start over again. so no.1 to research with your first research points is that. it's something not told in game and many people find out the hard way and they have to start over again. i think it's very important to mention this in this video. because if you use your first starting research points to research anything else then you will not have research point to research the scrapper to be able to get metal to build an outpost. and guess what.. you can't go out gather more research now because no scrapper, no metal, no outpost = no more research = can't progress = restart....
sounds near impossible, to explore entire game map and not reasearch scrapping that is fairly early it would be pretty boring cause you can't build anything advanced, meanwhile you managed to explore entire map and scavange all the science? which will takes like dozen hours at least. Even if someone can be so clueless to soft lock themselves creature attacks and events sometimes reward science points.
@Cypeq true, events will reward you, but you are dependent on that, and it will slow you down. Why cripple yourself? Also wait.. can you explore more on the map besides starting area without outposts and send a specialist to gather science points?
@@BaronCell any of your 'heroes' can explore other zones and salvage any building, no need for outposts. They are only used for building that provide passive resource gains.
@Cypeq I quess i was misinformed then and i deleted my saved game for nothing. I found posts saying that it's like hitting a wall... if you don't use your first points on researching scrapper for metal after someone (and me) researched other things with my starting zone science points. I didn't know that you could go further with your specialists and find more research points.. good to know. Thanks for info
Scrapper for metal is essential in the whole game, there is no doubt that - but as @Cypeq said - you can still go out and fine more ;) But to be fair - this game has pretty linear progression in terms of efficiency and this is still true - if you misplace and take something that is not gicing immediate boost..that's like shooting in your own leg :D I remember I rushed for lumbermill where having it gave me nothing valuable, just later in the progress I become useful :D
I think this shows you how badly science is balanced in this game When you need like 20 science outposts. They should have made it also like Oxygen not Included where science is generated based on materials. So you give materials to a science building. Have a Scientist work at the science building. Then simply giving it materials will generate large chunks of science over time. This also allows you to have scientists at home town in case of emergency
Nope, none of that - just prioritizing the science outposts and building (almost) all of them - that generates a HUGE amount of tech. Plus, check the year - that is way longer playthrough than needed :D
21:42 the burner automatically start/stop before/after winter
Oh, do they now? Nice - this is amazing quality of life feature then! Thank you!

On Point 11, burners have been fixed (fortunately). You pushed science insanely hard.
Damn it - thanks for letting us know!
Oh, yes, I love science and I always push it in every game :D

Going medieval is great, almost the same game,I'm playing this one now 😂
I'm writing down - I believe I have seen it in early stages, so would be nice to get back to see how is it going now!
maybe make a video, enjoy the game mariss, love your English@@MLMariss

I like the fact you have provided already solution not only pointing out the problem! No argument here - thank you!
50K tech? Trainer? Cheat Engine?
