    Hi James, the helium escape valve is only relevant to saturation divers. It is unnecessary for scuba diving. The 100m again make less difference to a saturation diver as the watch will be taken down to the same depth with the divers so it should be waterproof to them at whatever depth they are working at. The helium valve is only needed when they are brought back up to normal atmospheric pressure as the pressure slowly decreases the gas in the watch will expand so it needs to be open so the watch glass doesn't get pushed out. Not sure I have explained this too well, hopefully it makes sense! 😊

      A helium escape valve on a watch like this is like fitting a snorkel and off road tyres to a Ford Kuga that's only ever used for the school run. Its a nice touch though!

    I have both dated variants, and will start by saying, I do love them both. But I’m disappointed in the white face variant. I work in a pool, at a dive shop, and it only took a few weeks for 6 of the lume dots on the bezel to come out. I’ve been in contact with Watchdives and they say they are sending a replacement bezel. I’m honestly not sure I believe it. I also really don’t like the mesh band it comes on. The clasp is too bulky and when your skin is wet, it can irritate the skin. Ironically, I found that out when I put that strap on a different watch. My white dial variant is on a black tropical strap that looks great, and the NTTD is on a titanium mesh strap that matches the case perfectly.
    I’ve had the NTTD watch it the water almost the same amount with no issues. In fact, it’s just a better watch over all. The bezel feels nicer as does the crown. Both bezels have a bit of play, but it’s minimal.

    Nice review 👍. Of all the variants of the original, I like the white dial best. I don't like that style clasp, it is way too bulky and with 100m WR I think the watch could be thinner too, I have an nh34 San Martin that is only 12.5mm thick wïth the same depth rating, so 12mm should be achievable.

    I have the Watchdives NTTD version. $165 USD. I also have the $62 Pagani NTTD. The Pagani is much better made.
    What I like about the Watchdives NTTD: Titanium color and form factor wears lower and broader than the Pagani; dial is more faithful to the Omega in some ways (no date version) with crow feet and hands design; case has the helium escape.
    What I don't like about the Watchdives NTTD: Mesh bracelet is kind of cheapy, compared to Pagani, it doesn't fit the case well, and jiggles at the lug; the bezel scalping and the case are not machined smoothly, they both have pronounced sharp edges. The bracelet fits either a smidge to big, or smidge to small. The bezel is hard to rotate, but that is to be expected on the Titanium cheapies.
    Again, I do like the Titanium case and how it wears, the watch looks and wears very well; my fear is, it won't last because it's not built as well as the $62 Pagani. I'd say Watchdives skimped on build quality, to include the Titanium. One is going back to Aliexpress, can't decide which, lol. Man, Pagani kills it on their sub-$100 divers, lol. This is my first Watchdives. I bought and returned the Heimdallr Titanium NTTD, due to the AR coating distorting the indices significantly, lol.

      I actually have the Heimdallr as well, which I also like, but I'd say that this is even better than that one.
      ua-cam.com/video/S5H98IuSmzk/v-deo.html
      When it comes to the lume especially Pagani Design always falls short. But on that particular one, the build finishing and build quality was really bad too.
      It's odd that you have sharp edges on your Watchdives. I don't have that on mine. The titanium is holding up really well too, with that coating to prevent scratches.

    • @Subjective_JoshNelson
      @Subjective_JoshNelson 23 дні тому

      @@HonestWatchReviewsHWR Interesting...yeah the edges on the Titanium are very sharp, both the case and the scallops on the bezel - maybe I'll return it for a replacement? But you are not showing the NTTD 007 brown/orange piece, but the white dial model. Your dial's waves are much nicer than my black dial, too. This may be the difference? Interesting you didn't like the Pagani, now I'm talking only NTTD 007 Pagani vs. Watchdives NTTD 007 both with black dial and orange/yellow indices). The Pagani, bought last week, is clearly the better build, all the way around. But it's round, bulky and doesn't look/wear as nice as the Watchdives. However, it was $100 less, lol.

    • @HonestWatchReviewsHWR
      @HonestWatchReviewsHWR  23 дні тому +7

      @@jontpt It's not a fake...
      It varies depending on who you ask, but for me personally I class something as an homage, when it's not trying to pass itself off as the original. It has different branding, as well as subtle differences in design and movements etc.
      They are aimed at completely different markets. People who buy homages aren't likely to buy the real thing. As they can't/won't pay that kind of money for a watch. So they just want something with a similar look, but at a more reasonable price point.
      Another factor that comes into play with homages of certain brands (I'm looking at you Seiko) is that some of the homages can have better specs and build quality than the originals. For this exact reason, I have quite a few Seiko homages in my collection, but no actual Seiko's.
      Homages are bought by people who love the originals and the brands who make them... Whereas fakes are bought by people who want to try and make out that they are something they aren't. They don't care about the originals or the brands that make them at all. It's a status symbol to them nothing more.
      When it comes to watches with more original designs, I prefer to go for microbrands. As I feel they offer better value for money, more unique designs and also you're supporting small businesses rather than large companies who have massive markups on their watches.

    • @jontpt
      @jontpt 23 дні тому

      @@HonestWatchReviewsHWR I appreciate the detailed explication of the differences between fake and homage. I almost entirely disagree with you, but it's nice to have an honest discourse at least. I find these things to be blatant copies and ripoffs, and whether or not they're better than the original isn't really relevant. The fact is, they're cashing in on other companies' designs and efforts, and I think that's wrong, and probably illegal. The only reason the big brands don't go after these pretenders is that it's not worth their time and they don't really cut into their market, since the people who buy these things are way too broke to ever afford a real Omega or Rolex... Or, they just want a costume watch on their wrists for fear of theft, etc. regardless, they should be banned and removed from the market, IMHO.
