GeoServer is a Java-based software server that allows users to view and edit geospatial data. Using open standards set forth by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), GeoServer allows for great flexibility in map creation and data sharing.
GeoServer is free software. This significantly lowers the financial barrier to entry when compared to proprietary GIS products. In addition, not only is GeoServer available free of charge, it is also open source. Bug fixes and feature improvements in open source software occur in a transparent manner, often at an accelerated pace compared to closed software solutions. Leveraging GeoServer in your organization also prevents software lock-in, saving costly support contracts down the road.
GeoServer is a OGC compliant implementation of a number of open standards such as Web Feature Service (WFS), Web Map Service (WMS), and Web Coverage Service (WCS). Additional formats and publication options are available including Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) and extensions for Catalogue Service (CSW) and Web Processing Service (WPS).

Hey , from where i can change the port of geoserver because im using port 8080 for another software and trying to install 2.17 version and there is no windows installer for that

You can change at yourWebServerFolder/conf/httpd.conf

Right now it's not possible to find a windows installer. So, I did all the WAR of video 1 processes. But when I do Lolcalhost... etc it's 404 stautus. Can you help me?

Did you start geoserver ?

@@pattrawuth yes, I had some trouble with the tomcat version, now should be fixed. But now i got 2 errors when I run the shell commands:
1) 22-Apr-2021 11:33:18.218 GRAVE [main] org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.startInternal One or more listeners failed to start. Full details will be found in the appropriate container log file
2) 22-Apr-2021 11:33:18.340 GRAVE [main] org.apache.catalina.core.StandardContext.startInternal Context [/geoserver] startup failed due to previous errors

Error depend on your os environment. Your need to try on VM first.

@@pattrawuth I uninstalled Tomcato 10 and installed Tomcat 9. Now it's working perfectly. I will continue the tutorial now. Thanks a lot for ansering me!

Some version doesn’t have windows installer. You can look for another version or use WAR instead.
