GeoServer (Web GIS): Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) Publishing with PostGIS [EN]

[GeoServer Tutorial] In this video, I will show you and explain step by step, How to publish Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) in Geoserver using PostGIS.
GeoServer is a Java-based software server that allows users to view and edit geospatial data. Using open standards set forth by the Open Geospatial Consortium (OGC), GeoServer allows for great flexibility in map creation and data sharing.
GeoServer is free software. This significantly lowers the financial barrier to entry when compared to proprietary GIS products. In addition, not only is GeoServer available free of charge, it is also open source. Bug fixes and feature improvements in open source software occur in a transparent manner, often at an accelerated pace compared to closed software solutions. Leveraging GeoServer in your organization also prevents software lock-in, saving costly support contracts down the road.
GeoServer is a OGC compliant implementation of a number of open standards such as Web Feature Service (WFS), Web Map Service (WMS), and Web Coverage Service (WCS). Additional formats and publication options are available including Web Map Tile Service (WMTS) and extensions for Catalogue Service (CSW) and Web Processing Service (WPS).

hello, i got an error saying like this "Error creating data store, check the parameters. Error message: Unable to obtain connection: Cannot create PoolableConnectionFactory (Connection to localhost:5432 refused. Check that the hostname and port are correct and that the postmaster is accepting TCP/IP connections.)

Just talk with you database admin. If your ip/user/port/dbname are corrected, You need to check firewall or hba.conf

Thank you for amazing tutorial. Is it possible to create WMTS Layer from GeoTiff (Raster Date Source)? As far as I checked, there are only for vector data sources.

@@pattrawuth Currently I am the process of developing Web GIS website. I have raster layers (let's say NDVI layer per month, user will generate new NDVI layer monthly) and my web gis website will need to show latest generated NDVI layer on its main web map. My GIS website needs to store old NDVI layers to allow user to download and see if they want and also needs to update the NDVI layer on the main web page as user updated. Can Geo Server handles this type of process? And how can I do to handle like that? I am confused and kindly help me out. Thank you.

You need to add "PostGIS" extension in postgreSQL then try again.
