Naoto and Seth, the shonen characters that looks easy at a glance but will absolutely break your fingers learning them let alone bring them into a match. Still love to style on my friends with the basics

After playing STRIVE, I really missed having a dash macro when I picked up BlazBlue. But I now understand that such power must be kept away from Naoto mains at all costs.

Dash macros don't make much sense. Dashing and microdashing in combos are a part of the execution requirements in fighting games. Why do you want to dumb down execution by adding a dash macro?

it took me 3 months to get the dash cancels down. Almost broke my fingers in the process but a necessary sacrifice to do amazing combos. To all naoto players I wish you luck :)

Rule one to playing Naoto: BUFFER YOUR FUCKING INPUTS
A lot of the timing windows are actually quite lenient so learn the earliest buffer timings and that makes everything much easier. Also, shortcuts for his specials exists and also lower the barrier. The execution is definitely not easy, but I found it more awkward than hard (I play execution heavy characters tho)
People always make Naoto out to be the hardest character on netplay despite dash buffer being very lenient when there are characters that have literally 1-2f links including buffer with similar execution requirement otherwise.
I already have permanent hand damage that's gatekeeping me from playing my favorite boy. Ain't going near him with a pole.
This character is the embodiment of hard work pays off, he really feels rewarding and once you've got it your hands still remember its crazy how I did the D cancel first try when redoing after a year without touching the game the missions for fun even though when I started off it was the hardest thing to me.
only a masochist plays naoto on netplay, you have to be a god in fighting games to use his full power
I picked him up as a pocket pick. Once you learn how to sway/drive cancel his combos become incredibly fun. If you play an instrument or do other handiwork, it makes learning him much easier I feel compared to the other hardest characters. I wish they gave him a way to not get bullied by Rachel/Nine etc. Still can't do Bang's hard bnb's though.

i had the pleasure of fighting Edgedark, and the dude was so crazy. geniunely kept me motivated to keep playing kurogane and try to do crazy shit

BBCF was one of the earliest fighting games i picked up, and I picked Naoto as my main because I loved his design and his gameplan, but his execution made me get a bit frustrated with both the character and the game, so I moved onto other games like Melty, 3S, GG.
Two years later, after playing and improving on many other games, the mere idea of BBCF getting rollback made me want to reinstall the game, and I realized that I was able to do Naoto combos much easier, and I have to agree with you, Naoto is absolutely one of the sickest characters in the game (I got a friend who mains Hibiki who gets tilted during Naoto blockstring and how much damage I can get off the conversions).
Didn't even know about the 2366 shortcut until now, I've been doing shift sway dash cancels with no shortcuts, so I'm gonna try that out, thank you for the video.
ah yes, I just came back to the game and I main naoto purely on his appearance and fighting style only to realize one hour into training mode my thumbs actually hurt from just trying to get into the “basic” parts of his advanced stuff 😰
I played Kurogane and truth be told, I freakin’ love this character.
One of the funniest matches I’ve ever witnessed was a 1am Kurogane mirror with my friends.
One of my friends mained Naoto for a while. It was hell.
As a Naoto main in CF i can confirm that yes microdash combos make me want to die and yes 1st frame shift sway into phantom pain are my bread and butter.

The trials accept 214A as a 5D input. You don't have to use 5d. it's much harder.

Naoto is so sick. If we ever get another main line BB and he’s in it, I’m gonna play him. BBTAG was my first real intro to the fgc so I’d like to say my tech has gotten much much better in the three years since
I am thinking about trying him. I was going to avoid playing rushdown characters but Naoto seems interesting.
I passed all the trials for Kurogane. It was a pain in the ass but enjoyed it.
fun fact if you look at the preview in the tirals, theres some that actually do the "shot cut" enhances(motion>dash>button), also ive always found 214A dash cancel always more useful then any D dash cancel
214A is actually 1 frame faster than drive cancels

I will gladly sacrifice my hands on the alter of carpel tunnel to get those sweet sweet combos in. To me, hes the character that I get the most "fighting feel" out of. Makes me want to buy a punching bag and just go nuts.

Most of it isn't that hard on hitbox/keyboard once you get into the rythm of the dash-cancels, but it is annoying. A dash macro would be nice for stick players.

Yes, those shenanigans in Chronophantasma Extend’s story that opened a big black hole in the sky accidentally brought him over from a parallel world. If you do his arcade mode he mentions Raquel, who is the Rachel from the parallel world that he is trying to return to.
