The whole song he is asking why he never got his chance, in the end he asks God just to shine light on everything and everyone. Ironic that this is the song that got the world renown that he was asking about.
The SHABADABADIA part is the "scat" 😋 Great, aren't they? Guitar/vocals: Shinji Wajima - he dresses as a Meiji-era (1868-1912) literary master Bass/vocals: Ken-ichi Suzuki - in the style of a demonic monk Drums/vocals: Nobu Nakajima - yakuza style teddy boy Shinji is the main vocalist on this song, but they all take turns singing throughout their discography with Ken-ichi being the other main vocalist and Nobu sometimes getting a song too They've been going since the late 80's and are very prolific.. having released 24 albums with no quality drop in their output.. if anything they keep getting better They did their first mini overseas tour in Feb 2020 in Europe (Germany/UK) after this song took off on UA-cam.. and it was appropriate given the lyrics in this song. They were planning on playing the US that summer.. but we all know what happened next. Their songs often borrow heavily from literature.. like HP Lovecraft..and I see others have taught you about their band name meaning "Human Chair", a short horror story They have a very Black Sabbath style sound to their music and another big influence on them is KISS. I got to talk with them after their London gig on 2020-02-21 and they loved the Black Sabbath t-shirt I was wearing hehe Amazing band, I hope you listen to more of their songs! 🤘
Ningen Isu means Human Chair. It is the title of a horror book. A lot of their songs are about Japan horror stories, mythos, and culture type stuff. The Guitarist and Bassist met in school listening to a kiss album, and decided to form a band. Thus the bass players white face makeup and black lipstick. Plus it fits their horror theme. The Guitarist really liked black sabbath, thus uses the Gibson SG style body type guitars.
Hi Abs, I see you have been introduced to one of my all-time favourite Japanese bands. I was first introduced to the delights of Ningen Isu (you don't pronounce the 'u' in Isu, it's really hard to explain how to pronounce it, but kind of a fast and hard breathy lead into the 'I' as if from the 'i' in the word 'his'. It's a tricky one for people who haven't heard it pronounced correctly) back in 1992 by a Thai friend who loved Japanese music. Back then I would have described Ningen Isu as maybe Post-Punk (ish) but they are now Japanese Doom Metal royalty. In 2024, Ningen Isu released their 24th studio album, so they have been prolific writers and performers. Whilst being well known in Japan in their genre, international success was limited until their 2019 album Shin Seinan (New Youth) where the banger you reacted to ('Mujou no Scat' or 'Heartless Scat') was a gem buried deep in the album at track 13 out of 14. This song really opened the doors internationally for Ningen Isu and they are finally enjoying the attention and respect they deserve. Abs, I hope your Patreon members are able to tease a couple more reactions to these master musicians out of you. Keep the good stuff coming.
May I suggest another Japanese metal band if that's okay? They are called Dir en Grey and the song you should react to is a song named Vinushka. A sub channel named Kaya has a English dub of possibly the best Live version of the song. 😁

It was amazing to hear! 👏
