I haven’t seen these shows in 60 years, but I’m binge watching them now. What strikes me is how good Paul O’Keefe is. Other than Billy Mumy, he might have been the best and most professional young actor on TV in the early sixties (and there were a lot of them!) I never truly appreciated his work till now
I feel the same way. He's a natural. Another one, who was only used in maybe one season, was Jimmy Garrett on The Lucy Show, the kid who played her son Jerry. He was rather good, and they often gave him wonderful lines that he delivered better than Jack Benny might have (like when he's about to go to bed after having enough of his mother and Aunt Viv's singing: "I don't know when I've spent such a boring evening.")
Watching The Patty Duke Show rinfsme when we had values, morals, and Dating was a mystery not like today everything and one is out and shown .No modesty!!!!

I also used to watch this show on Nick at Night in 1991 when I was 7 years old to 9 years old(and really as long as they aired it on Nick! I had to look at your comment again to see if I was the one who wrote it🤣 I wonder what the correlation between this show, 7 year olds, and the year 1991 is?🤔🤣😍
There is a brief Seinfeld reference in an episode of that sitcom, The Understudy, that gives a little wink to the theme song of this classic show. It's in the one that satires the whole Tonya Harding figure skating scandal; Jerry's actress girlfriend keeps crying at small things, like dropping a hot dog on the ground, and doesn't cry at big things. She gets a telegram about a grandmother's death and she's not bothered a bit, and Jerry says, "But a hot dog makes you lose control". I love little nods like that which only certain people will "get".
I seriously have no idea how this shit ended up on my feed, but Patty is wild! My kid said she looks like samwise gamgee lol without knowing the connection...
Wow. Whenever he spoke as Richard he almost gave the impression that the character was mildly retarded. So loud and doofy. Maybe it was an acting choice, trying to sound younger than his advanced years, lol.
I remember "slumber parties." That's what we called them in the 1960's and 1970's. When did they start calling them "sleepovers?" And why did the term slumber parties change to be called sleepovers?
Pajama Party is the best because of the fun alliteration. I don't even know why parents felt the need to start calling when a kid hangs out at another one's home a "Play Date". So dumb.
This episode was unusual. They actually showed more of the face of Patty Duke's acting double. Usually you only see the back of her head but At 2:03 you can see her face and at other times a side view of her face.
Juss Sayin , LOL, Man you new generation people are so BORING, you people have no imagination at all, why don’t you watch the garbage you can relate too; like GLEE, AND THE BIG BANG THEORY. Or stop acting like little STUCK UP SNOBS.

One bed = too racy for TV at the time, until certain shows were allowed to start showing it (Green Acres, The Brady Bunch, The Munsters, etc). Not sure why censors were such prigs at the time.

Did the dad just say orgy in a 60's sitcom?
I was shocked
*Orgy* used to mean any wild, noisy party. Later on it added the sexual connotations.
Well, it is an actual word. But nowadays we have dirty minds.
Was shocked too
I heard that the word used to mean more of a decadent gathering, especially when eating large amounts of food.
I can’t believe that Paul O’Keefe (Boston native) is wearing a Yankee’s cap. Ben Affleck would never have done that!
Ahhh... The memories.

I know I am asking in 2022, but...Why are the parents in two beds? That is weird as fuck
In the 1950s and the 1960s, married couples never slept in the same bed!
