    Hi Hugo. Another great video with you and your sister Gabriella showing off your photography skills together. After watching all of your videos, I bought an M8 to go along with my M9. But all of my lenses are Zeiss. I mostly keep my Biogon 25mm f2.8 on the M8 and my C-Biogon 35mm f2.8 on the M9. With the crop factor on the M8, the 25mm has a 33mm FOV. Looking forward to your next video.

    Hi Hugo, thank you for sharing this video, I’ve just purchase a used M8 and was thinking about the Ultron 28mm f2 Voigtlander, but now with your test on the 35mm I might change my decision and go with the 35 Nokton Classic f1.4. Was yours a Multi Coated MC or Single Coated SC? Thank you

    Indeed, fantastic lenses. Nice review. You are right about the tiny Voigtlander being a great lens if you could only have one. I feel same about the 40, which is identical except focal length. I finally got the ZM50/1.5 and it’s as good as anticipated but even better bc image circle fits medium format Fuji. Amazing! Great to see nice images in a review. Not very common. :)

    Love your videos! Leica M8 colours are so good. I'm curious to know if you've used any IR Cur filter or post edit or images to correct for the IR?

    • @myleicam8546
      @myleicam8546  2 роки тому

      Thanks André!, I have a IR filter attached to all my lens, but I found that colors without filter are sometimes warmer and more special, in a good way. But is risky with blacks...you know. In the "color editing department" I only adjust the WB when is necessary.

    I like both, with a slight preference to the Zeiss for the pop. Anyway, both lenses do about 85 % of a Summilux APO at a fraction of the cost and with character. Something I can very well enjoy. Also astonishing, how the M8 image quality still keeps up after all these years. Might have to get one for as second body for BW.

    Nice comparison! I’ve owned the Nokton 35mm and the Zeiss ZM 35mm (not the 50mm). Both are great alternatives to LEICA glass. I sold both to purchase a much needed 2nd camera to shoot a wedding. Now I’m trying out the inexpensive 7artisans 35mm and it is holding up so far, sharp, but without that voigtlander character. But hear that the 7artisans 28mm is amazing.

    Hugo. Very cool photos. Love the Hat. where do you get it? haha. Also I noticed your happy to shoot the M8 above base ISO something I never do! Maybe I should do it a little more often! Would make it more versatile. What is your thoughts on ISO on the M8 and above 640 would you think black and white is better? Hugo have you a web site or blog also?

    • @myleicam8546
      @myleicam8546  4 роки тому +1

      Thanks Colin! The hat is from a brand call Broswell, safari model. ...in the south of Spain, when you don't have any hair, a hat is required ;-)
      At high iso (and with light enough) the m8 produce images with a very pleasant texture, and unique look, film like but without adding filters. Authentic one. I like it. Thats why sometimes I shoot at 1250 in the m8 with not other reason that get this texture and color. Not web site jet, just the Yt channel.

    Great comparison, with signature style and elan. I have the Sonnar 1.5 50mm and CV 1.4 40, the sonnar has a delicacy in the rendering, the Voigtländer doesn't quite equal. The Sonnar is better at a childs blush, or capturing the faint half remembered tears...the Voigtländer I prefer for B&W.

    Congratulations on a great video comparing these two lenses, very enjoyable and informative. Some great images from both M’s and lenses, it also seems like your sister is enjoying using a Leica camera and has a good eye for photography. Please keep these videos coming 👍. I noticed on the Leica Forum that you made it to the Leica One Meet-up in Seville, hopefully you got some good images if Pete didn’t keep you talking too much, he’s very knowledgable about all things Leica and always willing to explain anything you are not sure about.

The best thing of having two cameras is that you can borrow one and go out to take photos. I went to the Leica One Meet-up, and it was great, I meet nice people with the same passion. ...Unfortunately my photos didn't came very good ;-)

      The voight is closest to Leica 50 summilux asph in terms of rendition, but nothing beats the summilux i guess, it’s just a matter of taste imo, i have tried the voight 50mm 1.2 asph, 50 sum asph and zeiss 50mm 1.5 zm, i kept the leica even it’s the most expensive, but i said it’s all a matter of taste again
