Whats there to remember Battlefield 2, 3, 4 is still playable to this day. I revisit 3 on occasion and still play ww1. Both 3 and 4 can still be played with full 64 games.
Jets fly overhead in dogfights, choppers providing air support while trying to avoid enemy stingers, you in cover trading shots with enemy infantry and protecting your advancing tank from c4s. Thats real battlefield
Yeah too bad they messed up with BFV. No iconic ww2 sounds and battles. They seriously messed the greatest war ever in history. Only an EA company could do that.
We need more of that BF3 feeling,it's just unforgettable My absolute favorite was you fighting with Iraq aginst Iran,my favorite mission and that earthquake at the end was amazing tbh
Yup. I'm sick of that trend in shooter games, especially ones that otherwise use real guns, somewhat realistic, then totally out of place skins. If they go that route... no buy
I don’t get how a seven year old game has so many great features that are left out of current titles. BF3 and BF4 are some of best times I ever had playing a FPS game but BFV is just awful. Nice video Westie. 👍🏽✌🏽
I was 15 when this game came out. The fact it’s still alive is amazing. The only other game that’s like its life span is Halo Reach that I have played. Ik CS and TF2 have lasted for like 999999 years.
I would like the Battlefield 3 base system back, where each team has a base outside of the map boundary that also includes a runway for takeoff and landing of aircraft for repairs.
@@kingucrimson5383 Sure that's a possibility, but it didn't happen that much in my experience and if a team has complete air superiority, they'll just get bored and eventually ditch the jet or get shot down by rockets/Helicopter/ or AA turret located at the base. I see it as part of the battle anyways. Conflict isn't pure offense. Defense is equally vital. An essential part of war is not having your base overrun and stopping sabotage attempts. I always saw it as another facet/aspect to the tactics available in Battlefield and that's why I liked it so much in the past because it wasn't as much of an arcade shooter as COD.
@@R4NJ3R It was an issue, its also an issue when the enemy spawn kills you by bombing your airfield. If you add a stationary AA you end up adding another issue of people who just destroy every vehicle to aggravate team mates.
@@miranda.cooper the gameplay is great, ppl just complain because the most well known battles aren't in it and the Russians aren't. Also they're afraid of females. The actually gameplay is very exciting and action packed, especially in the Pacific war
They need to reduce and get rid of many immersive animations to bring those back. They look great and a lot of work goes into making them but they hinder gameplay in a lot of areas. Without being locked into animations players were able to do neat and fun stuff such as bail out of a C4 jeep blowing up a tank and the craziest of players being able to pull off rendezooks (for anyone reading look that up if you haven’t already seen it). I know you can kind of still do them but they are easy and are practical non existent nowadays. And people will say it’s not realistic. Battlefield has never been a simulator. It’s never been a Milsim type game. It’s always been a arcady type game with realistic features and elements. There’s always been wacky stuff that has made the game fun.
Noss Njeppa Nice straw man argument, dude. When did I say I wanted the game to be casual? Every Battlefield game has been Arcady. Just because a shooter is arcady doesn’t automatically make it casual. Even competitive games like R6 are very arcady.
Battlefield 6 needs: Battlefield 3: Gunplay Battlefield 4: Vehicles, gun customization, and ranks Battlefield 1: UI, map design, sound and attention to detail Battlefield V: The short cinematic campaign, and nothing else Battlefield BC2: whatever that X-Factor was that made us love BF games
@@ninjafrozr8809 the introduction of the real world destruction is one aspect that players fell in love with, also it had an intangible sense of reality. Was it the fully directional audio that made gunfire sound eerily accurate and gave you the ability to triangulate enemy positions? Who knows.. There were so many new things introduced that became the gold standard for battle fps games. I loved the campaign too, it had a sense of urgency.
Josh Bortolotti facts also it’s crazy how they essentially switched and how they do their map design even down to COD even having a similar aesthetic as far as its atmosphere in game like you really can’t compare the game to each other but I’m not gonna lie sometimes on some of those ground war maps do bring a BF4 vibes I think personally between that and war zone it’s the closest we’ve had to essentially what a battlefield in modern times could look like
at these days, it was a battle between BF4 and COD as the two games were different. I remember playing BF4 after some COD games just to chill and enjoy the realism of BF4. still playing BF4 and COD ;o) By the way, COD has it's problems too now a days... we are far from BO2, MW2 MW3 and BO3 era...
I love how he tries to say all Battlefield games had a shity campaign meanwhile he has acknowledged his favourite Battlefield games are the Bad Company series that had an amazing single player story
@@herri.6996 Man i agree with you I enjoyed it more then Call of duty modern warfare 3's campaign But bad company 1 and 2 is always better then BF3 and CODMW3
I would love to see them go back to BF2 times. Like the Iraq and Iran times early 2000's time period. You could still have a lot of customization with a theater we haven't seen in a while.
My best BF experiences were BF2 experiences. It was such a great game but it was way ahead of it's time. Strike at Karkand and Warlord were classic urban maps.
i was hoping they were going to do a vietnam battlefield with the style of bf4 and bf3 but the community will never trust them to do a historic game again.
They could keep modern and still use those theaters of war. The problem holding BF back with certain time periods is its limiting the game on all the creativity they could be adding by trying to stay true to a certain time period.
@@theins0157 not really. RS2 vietnam did it and thats a phenomenal game. Its a lack of creativity on their end if they cant figure out how to make it work with most of these settings. I would love a modern bf next and then go back to vietnam and stay true
I'd love to see DICE focus on delivering a high quality multi player game that launches with minimal technical issues. If dropping single player and BR gives them the resources to deliver the core game in a working state then do it. Pick a lane and then deliver something amazing. Don't try to please everyone.
Which in some ways saddens me. I was Hong that we could get a new vietnam from them, or maybe a late Cold War, but vietnam isn't really an option now as that runs to many risks. The Cold War one could implement many of the same features like what was talked about in the video, but if Dice is smart they wouldn't be wanting to try something new after the disaster they just had
They could do a future war. There was a pole when BF1 came out . Over 80% wanted back the Bf3 and Bf4 time era, over 11% wanted a future and the rest was between WWII and vietnam time
I started playing BF4 again yesterday after 4 years... I was surprised to see soooooo many people still playing and servers packed like never before. Oh how much I missed this game. I refuse to jump on COD Warzone.. The new Battlefield coming out needs to stick to the core elements that made this game so great. Huge maps, better customisation, more vehicles ect..
i started playing bf4 too and it is surreal how it feels like not a day passed, the campaign is even more mind blowing how it fits todays world so close (bf4 is in 2020)
@@shivalah Mostly environment improvements. Little details like lighting/shading (not perfect but a step above battlefield 3's infamous sun glare), solder hitboxes being more solid without legs sticking out of walls. But not everything was perfect. Bf3/bf4, customization is superior to BF1 's variant system.
Agree😂When hit boxes ran in front of the soldiers, the AA killed you from the opposite corner of the map, dying behind cover, people sitting on ammo boxes for a whole game... It was unplayable in the early beginnings.
I think he means in the later development of the game when the community was listened to and our needs were met. The game wasn't perfect but once DICE LA took over the development it was a different vibe. It felt like us, the community, the fanbase who plays the game were actually cared about. We weren't just seen as dollar signs or consumers. They literally let us make the map which was in community operations. Now try to imagine that in bf 5. That's right you can't. This "if you don't like it, don't buy it" mentality is dumb.
To this day I love flying jets over infantry players, Because I know how epic it looks when your fighting an enemy and you hear the roar of the engine as a jet flies right over you
I love every installment of BF games, but I just wish that there'd be a positive culmination of all the games, BF3 had amazing maps, BF4 was an upgrade. BF1 was atmospheric and detailed. And BFV has this level of interaction such as throwing and shooting grenades and being able to do light parkour like movements (I sometimes go back and play BF4 and try to hop a wall and find myself disappointed that I can't). BF6 needs to take all the positive aspects of other BF games and just put it into one game along with longer development time and better marketing.
I would imagine it would be much easier to hop a wall in a ww1 or ww2 environment considering they aren't wearing heavy body armor and carrying a million mags of ammo.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. What makes BF 4 great is the loud immersive audio design and massive vehicles. In BF4 fire fights are louder in the distance compared to BFV which makes maps feel empty. Also, in siege of Shanghai you start off with 3 tanks, 1 lav, 1 attack helicopter and 1 transport helicopter. Rotterdam, 2 tanks. 👎
You wish there were more tanks in Rotterdam? I think you’re in the minority there man, most infantry players(who make up the majority of the team) don’t want that.
Also, for me, that you couldn't choose any vehicle. They were preset on the maps. This makes a huge balance and gameplay difference for me. I'd like to see that back.
Mahn I seriously miss flying attack choppers . . . Closest I can get to it now is in COD MW chopper gunner killstreak. But my heart is still Battlefield
The best solution for me: - Maps of Bad Company 2 - Campaign of BF3. - Gunplay, weapon customization and vehicle variety of BF4 - Music, graphics, audio and atmosphere of Battlefield 1 - Movement and squadplay of Battlefield 5 Some of these are edited to match what others want aswell
For me the ultimate new BF game would have: BF3’s maps, BF1’s atmosphere, BFV movement/fortifications COD MW’s gun customisation, also to be set in the present or very near future
I've been playing BF4 in PS3 and PS4 for the longest time and I've never EVER got sick of it. It is among the greatest first-person shooters of all time and my personal favourite. With the stunning graphics, design and detail that a games have nowadays, combined with the idea and storyline of BF4 itself, EA could make THE outstanding, record-breaking game of Battlefield 6.
:( this made me sad, I recently lost my Battlefield 4 disc. I miss playing that game, I used to pull all-nighters with my buddies😭 in all honesty BF6 should have most resemblance to BF4 in terms of how the games flows and mechanics and all that, however it would be a whole upgrade if bf6 does have environmentally relatable feelings like BF1. I wanna be able to stay at the sunset while I hear gunshots in the distance
That heli gameplay I'm just drawn to looking at the seat positions on instinct still, waiting for the pilot to unexpectedly jump ship so I can be ready to take over XD
Bf4 hit the best combo of that weapon sandbox and the feel of a big actual battle. Bf6 needs the weapon customization and map style of 4 with the movement of bf1/bfV
Iraqi Israelite I literally don’t mind playing the same areas again and again. Different map design sure, but the settings are fine for me. As long we get updated graphics and weapon customization back
The shame is that BFV could've possibly been a great WW2 game, but with all the pre-launch drama and DICE's negligence, it turned into what almost feels like satire of a WW2 game.
Thats because for some reason they chose to make Bfv in its ww2 setting a complete disaster, alienating their entire community, with a huge chunk of their playerbase leaving to effectively not play anything FPS wise until CoD MW stepped in. Of the fifteen people I play regularly with, only I did 200 hours in Bfv before I quit, some of the others cancelled their preorders and played other games until the latest CoD game along, now we are all back together like a happy gaming family.
The next Battlefield needs to set the gold standard for weapon customization. If it turns out to be a modern or futuristic setting I want to see options for muzzles, barrel length, hand guard, foregrips, grips, optics, stocks, and of course paints. I want to see something like Ghost Recon but on an even higher level.
@@miguelnascimento2847 Tarkov has a completely different playstyle and a different focus. While I do agree, that EFT's weapon customization system is amazing, it feels nothing like BF.
Westie, I wrote this on LevelCap Facebook page: This is where I will remind everyone: DICE of old is DEAD. Old members from teams making old BF games are GONE. EA is not even working on new Frostbite engine for new consoles and Frostbite became EA sole property now. Sad story is, Battlefield is gone as a franchise. Better find something new to play, than hope that Battlefield gonna rise again.
@Chris Goody where did I write something about historical games being wrong? O_O I only wrote that team which made BF BC2, BF3, BF4 is gone, so there is hardly any hope that we will get great BF game anytime soon.
@@info0 This remind me of old developer of infinity ward that made cod 1, 2, 4 and mw2 and then they leave then they became known as respawn entertainment
Panzerstorm is huge, yeah but a storm of panzers it certainly isn't. It's more like 6 tanks and 50 people running across a field. Scale doesn't translate into fun but overall you've got some good points here.
Personally I can’t go back to bf5 haven’t played it in months, it just doesn’t have that battlefield feel I’m looking for. As of late modern warfare feels more battlefield than battlefield🤷🏼♀️
I've not yet played the latest COD but I do agree that BFV doesn't feel like BF at all. I've played BFV since launch but I stopped playing back in January and switched back to BF3 and BF4
OG former Battlefield player here with some thoughts I will go down into how i see the BF franchise are currently doing. And there will be some harsh but constuctive Critisisms of how i view currently see the series. Some of these views may be unpopular with some of the current fandom since these views are build from someone that mostly played the Refrator Era Battlefield titles though i have over 1000 hours in BFBC2 and little under 1000 hours in BF3. Anyways i go though why BF5 never won me over then i will go into how the series may be able to win me back with BF6! After Battlefield 5 what i can not just describe as a disaster for the series as a whole. But a giant missed opportunity. I can clearly see how the game made some great if not amazing concepts in terms of Monetization, Updates and the Road Map that Dice talked about Prerelease. Which all were terribly implemented. And something that allways made stay away from the game is there is constant negativity and contraversy around the game which i will talk about in numbers below. 1. Road Map and Updates. The reason why the Road Map seems from my opinion to have failed. Is that EA/Dice was making all these promises in what content people could expect from BF5 after the release of the game. Like Battle Royale, Coop, and Constant new Multplayer content. Which were giving the assumption that it would be in high Quality like in BF1. One of the places that the Quality issue can clearly be seen to be an issue is in the Battle Royale community's demands for how the game mode should work. even though i don't know much about the game mode. I know that the Royale community demands at least 100 player matches. while the map still feels engaging. And when it was released people on Forums constantly said the mode lagged alot of features. But the major problem from me is that an old Battlefield player like myself don't really care about Battle Royale. And since it was one of the early development features after the games launch. I could not see why i should play the game at the time. since it looked like the game was hunting for another playerbase and trend than me at the time. The biggest chance EA/Dice had to make me reconsider my harsh opinion about BF5 and it's other updates was with the Pacific update. With this update i was actully even reconsidering my negative opinion about the game and maybe even getting it. The Pacific update was from the looks of it a great content update with a new faction being added. However with the new update came new problems like a complete workaround of the gun balance. And the community basicly returned to saying nothing was working in the game again and i was scared off instantly. 2. Monetization and Artstyle This could also be called how i would have implement Microtransactions and a diversity of characters in a WW2 game. I think the Microtransactions system in BF5 from what i can see looks decent. Since it focus on the concept of skins for guns, vehicles and the players charecter. However it is very clear that the part of the Battlefield community that cares about historical accuracy ( or whats left of it ) Made themselves clear that they wanted the game to be authentic like BF1 but not necessarily a history lesson. One of the ways the diversity of characters could have been implemented as a Monetization feature. Is that every player starts out with a generic WW2 soldier that players can relate to for a specific faction ingame. And by either progression or Purchase with money. Players can get acces to a special charecters for a specific faction. Lets say French Female ressistance fighters, General Douglas Macarthur for the US, Michael Wittmann German tank Ace or The many Russian Female fighters. Not only can you customize them ( as long as you can tell their class ) But you can also add gear too their models. The issue with BF5 current Character Artstyle is basically they don't feel authentic or that they don't belong in a game that claims to be a WW2 game. However the UA-camr Act Man made a great video on why people Are/Were upset with this issue so many of the highly controversial issues im gonna let his video gonna tell people interrested below. ua-cam.com/video/m4bf1bxKRIs/v-deo.html 3. How Battlefield 6 may be able to get me back. It would firstly require much much better transparency and honesty from EA and Dice. And least of all care for their customer base. If an Artstyle that is considered controversial by the gaming community is ever to return. It would require that EA/Dice instead would at least rather say "We thought that this type of Artstyle was something the gaming cummunity was going to like, However we still hope you want to be part of our game and play our amazing gunplay and explore the world we created in BF6" Please EA/Dice no more *iF yOu DoN't lIkE iT dOn'T bUy iT*. The Road Map need to be alot more solid and honest. No more Broken promises and Cancelled project within a Games promised updates. People at EA/Dice need to have a more Active Official Battlefield forums where the "Individual Battlefield Community Member can more easily bring sugguestions to the High tier Moderators that can make them Pass them for Consideration by the Battlefield Dev team. Just like how Gajin with their War Thunder forums handles their community. and the Battlefield team needs to be able to handle Harsh/Provocative critisism alot better on both official forums and other forums like Reddit. Endnote. I may make a more clear post on a Forum like Reddit to flesh out my thought a bit better but if you Agree/Disagree with my opinions you are welcome to let me know! And since there is again a romour that BF6 is using Battlefield 2 and BF3 as game Concept i am hopefull Dice are trying their best putting the Battlefield franchise back on track since i do care about the Battlefield series. I just don't accept everything that is thrown at me! Anyways thank you for reading my big post response and see you on the battlefield! :)
Its a game it does not have to be historically accurate except for respect for actual soldiers, but in general it could be bananas attacking the beach, it is a game and you dont need to and should not be historically accurate if you don't want to
@@jeremyshiner7341 Yes and it was what i tried to respond to in my 2. Monitization and Artstyle. There is not anything wrong in going for a more free form of Artstyle like in BF5. However what caused the anger among a large part of the more pro Authentic part of the Battlefield community is the Response they gave. Im sure most Battlefield players would look the other way if made a more possitive response like the way i discribe in my number 3 post. Where i more or less said that Dice should say "We think this Artstyle is going to be great for the game but we believe that you are going to love our gunplay and sandbox we created". The way the Dev's interact with the overall Gaming community is so important. Especially Prerelease where you need to convince people to buy you're game.
@@eleks12 I dont know how much would look the other way, people were pushing back hard at the focus on a female with a bionic arm in the trailer, even if a dev was super nice i don't know how much people would not rage at the artstyle and it was around where it seemed games are forcing gender and other things in places and a lot of the Battlefield community did not want that in Battlefield
The gun load out needs to be deeper, attachements need to have some limitations to the gun as well. In COD a grip makes your M13 more accurate but also slows down your movement (for example). Same thing to vehicles, nothing major, but just something to give the vehicle players a little bit to think about.
It´s funny how they limit customization in BFV because of "historical reasons" but they unrealistically add women as soldiers with no regards of "historical reasons". Nice dick move
I would love a battlefield game story to be just like “Storm of Steel” from Bf1. Every time you die, you hop to another soldier and so on and so forth.
@@tylerbmiranda i got excited cause i thought the whole game would be like that. Have your squads of soldiers and when you die you take over someone else in the fire team. lots of other games have done that and you get attached to your soldiers like xcom.
Winnie The Flu I think that would’ve made BF1 one of the best games I’ve ever played if the story was like that. The war stories were cool and all but they felt a little too over the top. Storm of Steel had a fantastic atmosphere and you felt true loss when you died and saw the name of who you played as. It was brilliant
Everyone saying environmental details doesn’t realize the game is 5 years newer then BF4, obviously a new game will look better. We’re not asking for 2013 graphics
Would still like to see some features return from V: -Squad revives and reinforcements -Fortifications -Being able to take ammo/health off players -Fluid movement and gunplay -Character customisation
And people are saying everything is bad about battlefieldV, these little things make a big difference. I agree with all just maybe tone the Customisation down a notch so not as many gas masks
One thing they’re going to have to do which is important in imo is limit immersive animations and get rid of animations for some things to make the gameplay feel a lot better. I know a lot of people are going to disagree with this but back in the day not having to be locked into an animation for getting in and out of vehicles made gameplay better in a lot of aspects such as people being able to instantly get out of a tank and repair it in the heat of combat or people being able to fluently bail out of a Jeep rigged with C4 and blow a tank up. Or the craziest of players being able to jump out of a jet, blow up another jet with a RPG and get back into their own jet. Those sure made for some interesting views in the top plays! I do love how animations look and I know a lot goes into them but they need to be limited in the end of the day. Maybe reduce them for most things so that it doesn’t feel like you’re locked into them.
For sure. In BFV, there are so many times where you get killed because you have go through the whole animation process of getting into and out of vehicles. Kinda makes attempting to bail out of something that's about to blow up completely pointless
For the most part, I agree. Keep a few, like the revive, reload, and maybe the stationary emplacements, but most of the others can go. It hurts me to say that, because I do like to be immersed, which so few game even do anymore, but for gameplay, and my sanity's sake in a game that's basically Multiplayer only? (Yes there's Single Player, but it's barely even that). Please do that...
I'm from Australia and have been playing battlefield 4 for the past 3 years often I love it. There's a lot of servers and full. Though there are a lot of guys who play with cheats it's fun and esteeming taking them out.
I'm mostly in favor of this but I will say. I feel BF1 did a great job utilizing the different classes, I routinely would switch classes depending on the scenario and never felt like I was out of my element. Whereas in BF4 I feel like I only ever played assault. I also feel there was some benefit to limited customization as it was easier to determine the right tool for the job and was certainly more friendly to new players, but I can definitely understand the majority's preference for increased modularity.
I feel the opposite. BF4 I could play as Engineer, Support, or Recon knowing I could defend myself against vehicles but I couldn't play all three the same. BFV The assault class is overpowered, you have anti-vehicle capabilities as well as having automatic and semi-automatic weapons with ammo depots at almost every obj to fully replenish everything.
@@Rwalk8 I think it was a mistake to follow suit with BFV. It worked for BF1's limited pool of guns but I definitely expected customization in BFV. And you are right I definitely get the arcade feel in BFV with the unlock tree.
Totally agree on the BFV assault class. In terms of BF4 I guess I find the ability to self heal just such an advantage. I also favor midrange engagements so assault is a natural fit.
do you remember how much tears have been shed in BF4 forums since the release up to the release of BF1? now you praise this game this is all you need to know about the community PS. But to be fair, when I think of BF4 the 1st thing that comes to my mind is that feeling when you see something epic, i.e. the fall of the skyscraper for the first time, or the battleship colliding with the island. When I think of BF4 I can remember only great moments, not just the gameplay ones, that bring me warmth.
Tawahachee i think it was a bad launch that made people angry at the time, netcode issues from what i can recall, i can't remember a game launching as BF4 did, it was unplayable at times. When all that was sorted out, the game become more positively received.
I wish we could get a Battlefield imagining of the Soviet Seven Days to the River Rhine invasion plans. Late 1970s-1980s warfare would be cool to see and pretty unique.
Weapons Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket Musket That would be the weapons Gamepasses Machine gun RPG SHOTGUN a map that isn't the woods
I’d be fine with just a remastered BF3/BF4 or something tbh. Better graphics, add a few more maps and call it a day. Edit: also updated vehicles, I’d like to see the Humvee come back or maybe the Oshkosh JLTV. A few more weapons would be nice too.
Dennis Baillargeon if they're going to do a remaster they should remaster both and combine them, taking the best maps and features from both rather than just doing one or the other. They're set at essentially the same time so it'd work
I like Singleplayer. And coop, if it is done properly, not like Cod 2019 coop with no re-play value. Coop is just greate for having a fun relaxing and engaging evening after work with ur Friends. Maybe with some nice chellanges or trophys or harder waves like cod Zombies and easter eggs u can explore or mini Storys like Uncharted 3 (Uncharted 3 best coop game ever, as an Fanboy)
KAMIKAZE What? It was generally hated for being absolute dogshit. I tried it a week ago with a friend, and the mode is really boring.Worse: it was forced unto you, if you wanted the G3 assault rifle.
Imagine if people remembered what made Battlefield 2 Great and then built a better game, based on those core ideas and mechanics, team play, squad play, commanders, classes that made sense, vehicles etc. Not to mention, massive open maps.
I been playing bf4 since 2014 and i love it even with all the little bugs it has. The weapons and mods you can do to them are just great. my favorite is bf4 and then bf1.
I firmly believe BF4 is the last true Battlefield game, so I fully agree here. Also, conquest 64 is the only mode I've ever cared about in Battlefield... Been playing it for almost 20 years and have never wanted anything else from a Battlefield game. If BF6 were a true Battlefield game that only focused on conquest multiplayer and maybe a few other popular multiplayer modes, I'd love it.
What I really really really want is a revamped commander mode, one where the commander is in the seat of an RTS where they can give orders and squads get bonuses for sticking together and following orders, "squad Bravo flank c with echo squad and their tank" squads can request artillery, UAVs, reinforcements, etc and the commanders are rewarded for giving tactical orders and providing player requested air strikes and other support. Imagine instead of just the squad leaders giving capture/defend orders the commander does and to multiple squads make teamwork ESSENTIAL and turn that communication wheel into a REAL game mechanic like In apex legends. Imagine commanders requesting players to take certain roles because they need snipers or medics or just a bunch of riflemen. Tanks squads where one sqad is in the tank and secondary guns and another squad is supporting the tank with infintry around it. Helis that bring squads where they are needed! The emergent gamplay would be INCREDIBLE. and like with apex mics are useful but NOT nessisary, just follow the HUD icons Imagine something similar to "return to the battlefield" but it says "return to your squad" (assuming your not recon or something) How freaking amazing would that be, an RTS style match where the units are players, sure some won't follow orders but make it easy and FUN to do so and coupled with the destruction and improvement on the build mechanics of bfv build things like bunkers just to have them destroyed in an air strike. With cross play and on next Gen consoles? It would be the game of decade
I really hope that DICE keeps the fortification system, being able to actually build cover when everything around me had been blown up, building fortifications almost ceirtanly saved me multiple times in bfv.
I want an increased scale to something we've never seen before. I'm thinking something at least the size of the Firestorm map, essentially divided into multiple traditional conquest games that drain from the same two ticket pools for two teams, each team with 80+ players. Blow our minds like nobody has yet!
@@munks4548 That would be a great next step for the franchise! But I really think that Dice isn't able to deliver such a game in a optimized and bug-free state, especially in the short development time. And with EA in command and prioritizing everything for profit we won't see a huge revolution of gameplay but a safe cash grab.
Unfortunatley Dice has already covered the ww2 meaning we probably wont get another ww2 game from Bf in a long time. Before Dice returns to the original modern setting I would like them to cover the Vietnam War and Korean War.
The next Battlefield title should be almost exclusively multiplayer. I'd like to see BF4 with Operations/Breakthrough and Frontlines. Dump the single player campaign and add bots in multiple lightly scripted scenarios for tutorial and 'story'. We need less one man armies. Add bots back to the game in a offline practice mode or an online warmup on emptier servers, like in the pre-frostbite games. Otherwise, keep the focus on multiplayer. Also the next Battlefield should be like 4 with improvements in atmosphere like BF1 and improved movement like BF1/5 with high vaulting and crouch sprinting. BFV's fortifications was a neat idea and could be refined and the free spotting system can be expanded to reduce dorito chasing. While I do miss the commander mode I'm thinking the squad reinforcement function was super neat and cuts out the middle man if you need some artillery.
I think the Battlefield series can definitely handle BOTH historical and modern warfare. However I think the series should maintain a balance between the two types of games, alternating regularly. By not releasing too many back-to-back historical or modern titles you can focus on what makes that time and setting unique, and avoid boredom of the player base. DICE should also be careful of calling a game "historical" if it isn't intended to be. I don't think they all have to be realistically historical (do an alternate of the Cold War that goes hot, or an alternate version of WW2 where the Axis powers are doing well and the war is raging into 1948, etc.), but if they are called "historical" they need to be more so than BF5 (or even BF1). Customization, attachments, perks, etc. are DEFINITELY important to a Battlefield game. We want control, and I 100% agree with Westie about using things from BF3/4 and CoD:MW 2019 to achieve that goal. Additionally, scrap single-player and coop if necessary to hit the multiplayer performance that we want.
What if they did an Battlefield game without a static setting. Like if the different maps/gamemodes were from different time periods. Like, if we have one(or more) map/gamemode with the time from the modern era and one from ww1, ww2, cold war or even some wars like the winter war.
@@ChenV Interesting idea. I personally wouldn't really like that because I prefer more homogeneous settings and weaponry, and the juxtaposition of maps or equipment from radically different time periods and technology levels would be jarring for me.

Absolutely. I miss the "Only in Battlefield " moments

I think bf3 was the pinnacle.
Yeah...an improved but blatant cocky doodie reskin of bf3. That's what bf4 is. A cocky doodie reskin that was somewhat improved.
Also, for me, that you couldn't choose any vehicle. They were preset on the maps. This makes a huge balance and gameplay difference for me. I'd like to see that back.

OG former Battlefield player here with some thoughts
I will go down into how i see the BF franchise are currently doing.
2. Monetization and Artstyle
This could also be called how i would have implement Microtransactions and a diversity of characters in a WW2 game.
However the UA-camr Act Man made a great video on why people Are/Were upset with this issue so many of the highly controversial issues im gonna let his video gonna tell people interrested below.
ua-cam.com/video/m4bf1bxKRIs/v-deo.html
3. How Battlefield 6 may be able to get me back.
It would firstly require much much better transparency and honesty from EA and Dice. And least of all care for their customer base.
If an Artstyle that is considered controversial by the gaming community is ever to return. It would require that EA/Dice instead would at least rather say "We thought that this type of Artstyle was something the gaming cummunity was going to like, However we still hope you want to be part of our game and play our amazing gunplay and explore the world we created in BF6"
Please EA/Dice no more *iF yOu DoN't lIkE iT dOn'T bUy iT*.

@@pendleton123 quarantine is a beach y'know
Its a game it does not have to be historically accurate except for respect for actual soldiers, but in general it could be bananas attacking the beach, it is a game and you dont need to and should not be historically accurate if you don't want to
@@jeremyshiner7341 Yes and it was what i tried to respond to in my 2.

That was only at the beginning od the game
Kamil Jaromin I know. I said I would like a game like that mission, except it would be an entire campaign.

We’re not asking for 2013 graphics

mogz modern just means “new” so i guess it’s just how the devs see “new” combat
That's it for me too! Whilst silly and totally unrealistic it was awesome fun gameplay!
For sure. In BFV, there are so many times where you get killed because you have go through the whole animation process of getting into and out of vehicles. Kinda makes attempting to bail out of something that's about to blow up completely pointless
100% right.
yup, maybe keep a few like executions and reload on stationnary weapons, but overall they should get rid of most, especially for the vehicles
I think the accessibility factor has hurt the franchise a lot. It has made the game feel arcadey. As a player of BF3 and 4 those changes hurt inside
I also favor midrange engagements so assault is a natural fit.
do you remember how much tears have been shed in BF4 forums since the release up to the release of BF1?
now you praise this game
this is all you need to know about the community
PS.
When I think of BF4 I remember all the times i had to unplug my PS3 from the freezes. I went back to COD and haven’t looked back since.
A Vietnam or gulf war battlefield would be amazing, provided they didn’t make a bollocks of it
Just make it Cold War with Korea, Afghanistan, and Six Day war added in

@alex alamangos I think because in 7 years they failed to deliver something more decent than the last title...
Wouldn't be surprised if the next battlefield game is a remaster for either of those two
Dennis Baillargeon if they're going to do a remaster they should remaster both and combine them, taking the best maps and features from both rather than just doing one or the other. They're set at essentially the same time so it'd work
A bf3 remake in the style cod 2019?

The emergent gamplay would be INCREDIBLE. and like with apex mics are useful but NOT nessisary, just follow the HUD icons
Imagine something similar to "return to the battlefield" but it says "return to your squad" (assuming your not recon or something)
How freaking amazing would that be, an RTS style match where the units are players, sure some won't follow orders but make it easy and FUN to do so and coupled with the destruction and improvement on the build mechanics of bfv build things like bunkers just to have them destroyed in an air strike.
With cross play and on next Gen consoles? It would be the game of decade
I really hope that DICE keeps the fortification system, being able to actually build cover when everything around me had been blown up, building fortifications almost ceirtanly saved me multiple times in bfv.

But I really think that Dice isn't able to deliver such a game in a optimized and bug-free state, especially in the short development time. And with EA in command and prioritizing everything for profit we won't see a huge revolution of gameplay but a safe cash grab.
I personally like the WW2 setting, It 100% could have been done better though. The problem i have with bf5 is the immersion
It had so much potential
Imagine a ww2 bf with bf3s type of gameplay and bf1s cinematography, It would be perfect

Unfortunatley Dice has already covered the ww2 meaning we probably wont get another ww2 game from Bf in a long time. Before Dice returns to the original modern setting I would like them to cover the Vietnam War and Korean War.
Yeah I was expecting more. Even a BF1942 remake would have been great. CoD tried to be BF and BF tried to be CoD, what a year is this.
When I hear dawnbreaker It just gives me goosebumps. I love this game hands down my fav battlefield.
There shouldn’t be ww2 weapons in a modern game with the exception of the HCAR
@@ChenV Interesting idea. I personally wouldn't really like that because I prefer more homogeneous settings and weaponry, and the juxtaposition of maps or equipment from radically different time periods and technology levels would be jarring for me.
