yikes that trailer. I remember seeing the reveal on stream while at work. Pulled out my phone and just jumped on the you tube live stream. Apparently it had been going for like 2 hours and the trailer just started to show when I logged on, very good timing. I am not trying to joke but I didn't know what era the game was in at the end. Had to close the phone right at the end and for rest of the day thought they where making a cross era crazy timeline game. I saw the horse cosmetic on the side of the car, and the first guy who died looked like a knight (looks like a he had armor shoulder pads). Next you see the viking guy with war paint and no shirt die, along with the post apocalyptic cyborg lady. No one had a WW2 uniform, they all looked like apocalyptic mechanics with the beanies and dirty clothes. Then the guy with the beret and katana sealed the deal that it was an unrealistic multi era battlefield...and I got excited. Maybe guns from all Bf's would be seen with new crazy maps. I thought man they are really putting themselves out there and making a new game. I was shocked to hear it was WW2. They had the ability to make a WW2 game like non other, just like BF1's take on WW1 a war not a lot of people knew about, not like WW2.
My buddy was in a meeting so I watched it. I told him I think it's some sort of post WW2 alternate timeline game. I thought it kind of looked cool but worried it might be too over the top. Turns out it was way over the top as it was supposed to be straight WW2.
I'm just off after a few hours on bf1, how much depth is in that game.. even post round historical narration, the sounds in game and the great maps, I'm not a developer but I am a long time battlefield fan and I wrongly assumed that there was nobody better to release a ww2 title.
yeah all the "depth" is so great but the gameplay and the maps are bad. gameplay and maps are way better in bf5 but it seems like the bf community only cares about "depth" and "atmosphere"
EA chases trends. Battle Royales, competitive game modes, and streamer-friendly games are what they want to produce now. Not big epic battles you can upload complications onto youtube.
mizo groov I can vouch for this. I tried “competitive” Battlefield 1, where we’d do 5v5 scrims. It was absolutely horrible. Hands down the worst experience I had with the game, reminded me of Call of Duty which was what I had been trying to get away from at the time. Battlefield is made and meant for large scale conflicts, but EA loves to push their games into nonsensical directions, often leading to something sort of an identity crisis.
dont see the problem there.I dont even have the origin launcher on my pc anymore,so nothing makes me remember it,just the youtube vids. Stopped playing after 3 months,since i already felt it back then that everything was missing from this game.

I dont know why they even attempted to make a 5v5 mode in the first place. Look a what happened to battlefield incursions, it flopped. Why couldn't they have just continued with the golden formula of conquest , rush etc. How could they go from BF1 to this shell of a game? Hopefully the next battlefield game is better and doesn't go all out and "hIsToRiCaL aCuRrAcY " and a crappy battle royale.
Well, they may try one more time, then in the one after (should it exist), they'll chase whatever other hot trend came and consumed a ton of game developers without showing a profit for any of them.
They can't because it's been confirmed that the team who made bf1 and bf4 are working on bf next which is aimed sometime next Year. The bf after bfnext most likely on concept stages and will most likely be made by the bf5 team so they will follow what bf do in success and fan praise and try to add upon instead of making another bf game that identical to bf5.

Dice deciding to stop support is making no sense to me along with a lot of other decisions. Next battlefield game is still long ways away. It's frustrating because I really enjoy this game and appreciated all the effort put in to make it better and was excited for it's future
Battlefield did really bad, I was so hyped since the Trailer of multi-player and of the single player, I pre ordered the game with 60€ and now they won't give us contenent. That's just outrageous, the game has only 1 year, they could do much better on this game, bf4 at the start was a peace of crap and with good updates and contenents they trasformed a bad bf in a magnific bf. I don't understand why DICE Hasn't do the same on Bfv, that's unfair, a shame. I'm just sad about all of this beacouse I love Battlefield.
Most of the brilliant minds already left DICE because of poor leadership & management, for those reasons I doubt the next BF will be any different than BFV.
after year 2 of BF1 they should've introduced more customization (similar to previous entries) & expand upon/ introduce the fortification tool to games (building bags, bunkers, trenches, etc.)

We got that assault rifle, of which I will not attempt to spell, I cannot remember how to spell anything in French. But yes, I get your point. I do believe at some point, there were going to be other factions in the game, but y'know, most ideas got scrapped for some reason. That's my take.
They should release any weapons that are working , not finished , working. This would provide some more fun for those that intend to stick it out and also to those who payed premium.

One magic word: Management In various games you see decisions being made from a manager who thinks his ideas are a great addition to whatever audience ( 5 v 5 for competitive play mostly) without having in mind that the extra effort spend for such things can have any negative impact on the core audience. Yes dice messed up. Must be fun to be able to drop everything and walk away from your mess ups. I feel going live service with a ww2 was wrong as ppl wanted authenticity not cosmetics. I have been a long time Battlefield fan (I've been around since Battlefield 2) and it's a shame of what's been happening to Battlefield V. I really do enjoy the game, but a lot of the mechanics of the game have been so buggy over the course of the game's lifespan. Battlefield V had so much potential to be a good game. I still believe Battlefield Hardline has been one of the most underrated games of the Battlefield series. I hope DICE can learn a few things with the way they advertised Battlefield V. It honestly all went to hell when neckbeards saw a woman with a robotic arm jumping off a 3 story building. The thing that throws me off so much are these kids who don't see D-Day or any Western front theater immediately start calling the game unrealistic. There were so much more theaters than the Western front and D-Day.
I’m still secretly hoping that BF6 will be futuristic. So much creative freedom for DICE, literally limitless content ideas. They can even intoduce new mechanics to keep that sandbox feeling that has always been battlefield’s strongest point. The only time we got a futuristic bf game was 2143 and that game was awesome. Battlefield has already made a modern shooter so many times, not to mention COD doing the same. A modern bf6 would kinda just be adding to a saturated market imo.

i feel like the panzerschrek could have been a really cool addition to the assault rocket launcher line up, providing a launcher with a quite large face shield but with the draw back being a rather long reload which would be quite useful on wide open breakthrough maps

Nobody wants to keep this garbage around. Except for you and a tiny minority of players. BFV is horrible, there are other greats in the Battlefield franchise like BF4, BF3, BF: Hardline, BF1, BF:BC2, BF2, BF:BC, BF1943. Battlefield 5 was the worst game ever made. The entire game needs to be overhauled, not just slap a few more trinkets into it and hope people are distracted enough by "new" content to ignore how terrible the game is.
I would have a hard time buying a new live service Battlefield game. To be fair, I got BFV on sale and definitely got my money's worth, but the only reason I got it was I'm a huge WW1 and WW2 buff. The next game being set in modern times won't appeal to me, so I'm so disappointed this game was cut short. I was hoping for the Eastern Front and a D Day landing and it's so frustrating to see signs in the code that it might have be planned. Its funny with this game. My main thing for battlefield games since Battlefield 3 (Unfortunately I skipped Hardline, looking back I regret that), has been to unlock all of the weapons, then from there just use what I want to use. Sometimes I’d play a game where I only use weapons that the team I’m playing as used. Or mu friends and I made a game where one person one choose a primary, the next would choose the secondary and so on until we has a whole class. The first person to get 25 kills could then choose what they wanted from the next round (if they wanted a certain primary they could choose that etc.) it lead to some wacky classes you wouldn’t normally use in normal play, and you may pick a gun that may be considered “not as good” to sabotage your friends. But with BFV I no longer have a drive the even unlock all of the weapon (which truthfully was the only reason I played). Ever since the Dice announced they were stopping content I literally have no incentive to play anymore. Either way in my opinion the weapon unlocks were extremely unsatisfying. Either play the game and unlock them from event or ranking up, or just buy them. While yes you could buy weapons in bf1, a good chunk of them you also unlocked from challenges (I still don’t like that at mine challenge haha).
it's true that the game files show that they had plans to keep going with content, however it shows that they would've stopped at pacific war updates anyways, since there are no russians weapons.
Can DICE, EA or whoever please give the game to a smaller developer company/team, it could be a great game if it would get the love and care the game actually deserves. Why just throw away all this. Small developer team could take all the unreleased stuff and add more of their stuff. Maybe then people would start praising the game and sales would go up, along with the playerbase. Someone make a petition for them to give the game away to people who care about history and the consumer.

I would have 2 features to battlefield 1: Counter Melee A way to counter different melees were the specific weapon beats the other like knives, shovels, etc (There could be a category like rock,paper,scissors. fast hitting melees beat slow melees, slow melees beat medium melees, and medium melees beat fast melees.) 2: Tank grenade It's like In the 4th war stories to get on top a tank and throw a grenade. (There could be a balance to it, only when there's a top gunner on it, or if there is no gunner on top of it)

They can't because it's been confirmed that the team who made bf1 and bf4 are working on bf next which is aimed sometime next Year. The bf after bfnext most likely on concept stages and will most likely be made by the bf5 team so they will follow what bf do in success and fan praise and try to add upon instead of making another bf game that identical to bf5.

Dice deciding to stop support is making no sense to me along with a lot of other decisions. Next battlefield game is still long ways away. It's frustrating because I really enjoy this game and appreciated all the effort put in to make it better and was excited for it's future

Battlefield did really bad, I was so hyped since the Trailer of multi-player and of the single player, I pre ordered the game with 60€ and now they won't give us contenent.
That's just outrageous, the game has only 1 year, they could do much better on this game, bf4 at the start was a peace of crap and with good updates and contenents they trasformed a bad bf in a magnific bf.

I have been a long time Battlefield fan (I've been around since Battlefield 2) and it's a shame of what's been happening to Battlefield V. I really do enjoy the game, but a lot of the mechanics of the game have been so buggy over the course of the game's lifespan. Battlefield V had so much potential to be a good game. I still believe Battlefield Hardline has been one of the most underrated games of the Battlefield series.
I hope DICE can learn a few things with the way they advertised Battlefield V. It honestly all went to hell when neckbeards saw a woman with a robotic arm jumping off a 3 story building. The thing that throws me off so much are these kids who don't see D-Day or any Western front theater immediately start calling the game unrealistic. There were so much more theaters than the Western front and D-Day.
The only thing they can do is make a really big patch wich includes all datamined weapons and gadgets even though some of them have similar stats🤷🏼♂️

I’m still secretly hoping that BF6 will be futuristic. So much creative freedom for DICE, literally limitless content ideas. They can even intoduce new mechanics to keep that sandbox feeling that has always been battlefield’s strongest point. The only time we got a futuristic bf game was 2143 and that game was awesome. Battlefield has already made a modern shooter so many times, not to mention COD doing the same. A modern bf6 would kinda just be adding to a saturated market imo.
Just hearing Westie’s tone in every video about BF5 sums it up. We’re all just disappointed in the mess that was this game. That’s what happens when you push a political agenda over basic video game logic.

Nobody wants to keep this garbage around. Except for you and a tiny minority of players. BFV is horrible, there are other greats in the Battlefield franchise like BF4, BF3, BF: Hardline, BF1, BF:BC2, BF2, BF:BC, BF1943. Battlefield 5 was the worst game ever made. The entire game needs to be overhauled, not just slap a few more trinkets into it and hope people are distracted enough by "new" content to ignore how terrible the game is.
I prefer playing BF4 and BF1 rather than BFV
We should all go back to battlefield 4 and fill up the servers again. See what Dice will think about that :D

I would have a hard time buying a new live service Battlefield game.
To be fair, I got BFV on sale and definitely got my money's worth, but the only reason I got it was I'm a huge WW1 and WW2 buff. The next game being set in modern times won't appeal to me, so I'm so disappointed this game was cut short. I was hoping for the Eastern Front and a D Day landing and it's so frustrating to see signs in the code that it might have be planned.
It makes me sad to see the massive potential this game had wasted.

Its funny with this game. My main thing for battlefield games since Battlefield 3 (Unfortunately I skipped Hardline, looking back I regret that), has been to unlock all of the weapons, then from there just use what I want to use. Sometimes I’d play a game where I only use weapons that the team I’m playing as used. Or mu friends and I made a game where one person one choose a primary, the next would choose the secondary and so on until we has a whole class. The first person to get 25 kills could then choose what they wanted from the next round (if they wanted a certain primary they could choose that etc.) it lead to some wacky classes you wouldn’t normally use in normal play, and you may pick a gun that may be considered “not as good” to sabotage your friends. But with BFV I no longer have a drive the even unlock all of the weapon (which truthfully was the only reason I played). Ever since the Dice announced they were stopping content I literally have no incentive to play anymore. Either way in my opinion the weapon unlocks were extremely unsatisfying. Either play the game and unlock them from event or ranking up, or just buy them. While yes you could buy weapons in bf1, a good chunk of them you also unlocked from challenges (I still don’t like that at mine challenge haha).

Can DICE, EA or whoever please give the game to a smaller developer company/team, it could be a great game if it would get the love and care the game actually deserves. Why just throw away all this. Remember in bf1942 and bf Vietnam. You had mods that completely changed the game, they were everywhere. So many good full conversion mods.

Even appearing in one form on the original colt manufactured m1921 Thompson machine guns. I kinda thought it was more a representation of a commonly available muzzle device of the era

A way to counter different melees were the specific weapon beats the other like knives, shovels, etc
(There could be a category like rock,paper,scissors. fast hitting melees beat slow melees, slow melees beat medium melees, and medium melees beat fast melees.)
2: Tank grenade
It's like In the 4th war stories to get on top a tank and throw a grenade.
(There could be a balance to it, only when there's a top gunner on it, or if there is no gunner on top of it)
I hope next battlefield would be WW2 with every front, map, theater where everything is more accurate with BF 4 tank mechanics

What an idiotic idea. Release a game in the same era of the previous game that got canned early. So let's charge people for a whole new game with the content that should have been in the last game. It's already a marketing disaster and it doesn't even exist.

- You don't want 30 vs 30 tank engagements at El Alamein
- And you don't want battle of Philippines with drivable aircraft carriers and Battleships
- You don't want proper battle of Crete with 100 paratrooper planes in Operations gamemode with proper planes and uniforms
