Lyrics: Silent Screams
Look at me I'm chasing
After dreams left in the storm
What I am is all
That really matters now
That lies are gone -
That lies are gone,
All the lies are gone,
The lies are gone.
Tempting fate and losing
Friends along the way I loved
No regrets
I'm standing
With a needle in my heart -
Needle in my heart,
Needle in my heart,
Needle in my heart.
You'll never know
My life means everything
Still I scream because
There's nothing left to do until the end.
The world goes on
With all that I've become
And still I scream inside
For all the pain I've taken hasn't changed.
Nothing's changed at all
The truth is like a chain
Heaven's calling me
The place that I belong
Killing pain -
Killing pain.
Close my eyes a million faces
Get inside my mind.
Take a breath and fill my troubled
Soul with all mankind.
Killing pain -
Killing pain,
I'm killing pain,
Killing pain.
The world goes on
With all that I've become.
And still I scream inside
For all the pain I've taken hasn't changed...
The man in black
I'm coming back to spew my evil hate.
My crown of horns and bloody thorns
I'll dig up what you fear.
I am the shape that's in your room that watches over you.
I am the needle in your heart - your disillusioned God.
I am God, I am fate, I am all the sins you make, yeah - hate.
I am black, I am white, I am the blood upon the knife, yeah - hate.
Since time began I made a vow to drag you underground;
To steal your soul of purity and watch you waste away.
I am pure, I am right, I'm the God that makes you fight, yeah - hate.
I am life, I am death, I will steal your final breath, yeah - hate.
I prey upon your broken dreams your weakness gives me strength.
I'm laughing at your silent screams I'll crush you with my hate.
You take it all
And face the fear that's here
Until the Silence Screams
it leaves you with no choice to carry on.
You'll never fall
When all is said and done
The only Scream is here
The journey never ends - it's just begun...
The lies that never learned
The needles in my heart
And things will never change
So everytime I scream I'm killing pain.

This album has a song where both Rob and Bruce Dickinson share vocals entitled "The One You Love To Hate." It's a beast!
Epic ! This song fully demonstrates all of Halford's range. Cheers guys, have an awesome Friday.
Halford's best Solo record!!!
Re-issued on Vinyl end of November!!!
You really should have heard the live performance. You missed one of the most epic screams in metal history.
The only video I've found with good sound was on vevo, so I've went with the studio version instead. But yeah, it would have been better.
The Dual Vocals was KILLER!!!! This song covers a lot of areas, Rob is the Best Frontman of all time!
This is a very powerful song. The lyrics are a very personal story about Rob lying to the world about his sexuality for most of his life and the drugs and alcohol that he used to kill his pain and shame. The guy IS the metal legend. 🎸 🎸 🎶 ❤️ Great video guys! 😅
Best song he ever did solo
One of The Best albums ever released. 🔥
My favorite song of all time.
THIS SONG IS AWESOME
this whole album is badass
I remember when this album came out and i bought it iimediatly. I´ve been listening this album hundreds of times and it was propapbly one of the tightest metal albums at the year. At that time i was listening alot of Helloween, Megadeth, At The Gates and Dimmu Borgir. I should take this cd out of the shelf and put it in the player and turn the volume all away to eleven 😂.
His solo stuff is amazing. loved Fight, liked Two and Halford band solo stuff, all amazing. Was lucky enough to see him return with Priest in Hannover, Germany in 2004...a memory I will cherish forever...missed a Fight concert by weeks...when I bough War of Words, hes just been to Hamburg....thanks for the video.
One of my favorite songs from Bruce Dickinson's solo catalog is "The Book Of Thel." An awesome track worth checking out.
You really need to watch him do for all eternity and life in black live in his solo band Fight!
Halford's solo projects, FIGHT and HALFORD, came at a time in Metal history where the future of Metal itself was in doubt. So it was the only thing going that was similar to our old favorite 80s stuff. Fight's albums were released in 1993 and 1995. And then in 1996, Rob did an Industrial Metal album under the name of Two (as in the 2nd solo project), and then in 1999 he formed Halford and then released albums in 2000, 2002, 2009, and 2010. I guess he did a couple Priest albums between 02 and 09, right?
You really need to listen to the title track on this album, Resurrection if you haven't already. Oh and "The One you love to hate" featuring Bruce Dickinson. It doesn't get much more epic than that!
I remember the first time I heard this song I was on vacation in Portugal , bought Metal Hammer and this song was in the cd sampler good times
I believe Rob left Priest because he was wanting to go in a more Thrash Metal direction after Painkiller, but the rest of the band didn't. So he formed Fight in 1993, and he released two albums under that name. War of Words and A Small Deadly Space. Words was slightly better as it fit in with the Painkiller sound, but Deadly Space had a slower pace and may have had a bit of a Grunge sound, but it wasn't bad, just different. Fight had Scott Travis on drums, and a young Russ Parrish (Satchel from Steel Panter) on lead guitar. Watch the live Headbanger's Ball performance from 1993 for the song "Into the Pit" for an example of that. Then in 2000 Rob formed Halford and released four albums under that name till 2010. Resurrection, Crucible, Halford 3: Winter Songs, Halford IV: Made of Metal. Resurrection and Crucible were excellent albums. Halford 3 was a Christmas album for the most part, and Halford IV was back to Metal, but wasn't quite as good as the original two.
Now then, as for your review of this particular song off of Resurrection, it appears you listened to the original mix. Halford's own record company released Remixed and Remastered versions of these first two albums and they sound a bit different. Clearer, deeper bass, but the mix is different too. Kinda like the 2004 Megadeth remixes. The songs have a bit of a different emphasis on certain instruments at times that kinda throw off people who knew the original mixes well.
Check out this one of him ua-cam.com/video/7RMggIaAhiI/v-deo.html with 'Fight' - 'in to the Pit' you won't be disappointed.
or this one ua-cam.com/video/vfGn5ajV_VQ/v-deo.html ;-) Silent Screams
Live version is awesome
Listen to it live
His performance at rock in Rio of this song is probably one of the best live songs ever
This song is *awesome*.
Now the question is... was it enough to make you check his solo stuff??
By the way, now that you have said that you also don't know Bruce Dickinson solo stuff that well I got to include it in my future requests :D
I honestly never got into their solo stuff, so this was a pleasant surprise.
@@APREACTS Nice, I wasn't a big fan of Fight, his first pos-Priest band, but when he got this band under his name things got much better, although, to be honest, there's a few songs that don't do much for me but in general is pretty good.
When it comes to Bruce's solo stuff, Accident of birth and the Chemical wedding were pretty good. That last one (so far) too but I don't have that one yet.
@@ericbronkhorst2566 "The Chemical Wedding" is my favourite", "Accident of Birth" is also a pretty good album, I would rank it has my 3rd BD favourite solo album with "Tyranny of Souls" as the second. But my favorite song is from a previous album, its "The Tears of the Dragon".
Bruce's solos stuff was very different from Maiden and I loved it. Had a more harsh tone to it. Book of Thiel and Tears of the Dragon are two of my all-time favorite songs and all his albums were good
Best song on that album. Fuckin love it 🔥
Buy this álbum 😋
The great one Rob Halford. Halford the band is the best solo band ever. They are amazing. Resurrection was Halford’s debut and it was Rob’s return to Heavy Metal. When they performed he had a anger to his performances almost like I’m back and better than ever! Judas Priest has been my fav band for 42 years. No band is better for me. That said I was asked by a friend who would be my second it’s absolutely the Halford ….Amazing musicians ! Rob is simply incredible and I believe this was his best vocals ever and that is saying a lot.Resurrection and Crucible and if y’all haven’t listened to Live Insurrection! It would make a great review for y’all. 🔥
"Metal Mike" Chlasciak has some great solo albums you should check out also if you dig the Halford band. 😊
You need to react to the Live Insurrection version ... it's insane.
Finally the message is getting out there, Halford's solo work is as good as anything he's done and this is right up there with Sad Wings of Destiny. FWIW don't understand the criticisms here at all and twang? Great slow start, awesome brutal mid-section, soft landing killing pain each time he scream's. Not sure what not to like if one is a Halford fan. The lyrics are worth commenting on and nothing here.
Should have done the live version…
Well when it comes to Rob Halford.. you really missed out if you didn't pay attention to his solo stuff... Fight "War of Words" was an EXCELLENT album, Same with Halford's "Resurrection" and "Crucible" ! All nearly PERFECT albums to me !
And then there is 2WO... I LIKE it... but I can see why it's not liked by a lot of Judas Priest's or Rob's other fans. BUt "Bed of Rust" and even "I am Pig" and "Stutter Kiss" are fantastic songs... industrial, sure... but still great songs that Rob had to get out of his system before returning to his roots with Halford and then reuniting with Priest.
I really loved this album shame too react too this should have been resserection
I have to say this, Bruce Dickinson's Accident Of Birth and Chemical Wedding albums are better than any Iron Maiden albums in my opinion. I love all Bruce's solo work. The Chemical Wedding is my favorite album of all time. His later solo work is heavier than Maiden. Halford's Resurrection album crushes most of Judas Priests albums.
Still the METAL GOD
Actually, I liked the double layered vocals. But that is only my taste.
The live version was way more epic
Diluted??? Are you high???
Found the song a bit uneventful. Was kinda (not seriously) hoping Halford would cover Slayer's 'Silent Scream'.
By the way, I would definitely call you both metal connoisseurs. What else? You love metal and it shows. That's why I watch you (this, your analyses and the banter often based around porn). I don't watch any other reaction channels. 🤘🍺🍻
Thank you!
@@APREACTS You're more than welcome. Disponha!
This sucked.
