- Опубліковано 7 лют 2025
- The Windows Out Of Box Experience (or OOBE for short) is a core feature of Windows since Windows 98 Second Edition, which is used for the end user to set up Windows for the first time! This is an updated video that includes other Windows betas that I haven't covered in previous videos!

4:31 - There was an Easter Egg in Vista Beta OOBE, where you could click the start button at the last screen instead of OK.
A reference to windows 95, i see.
Not like a Dualboot with Win11 and Apple MacBook
u used to be able to choose the color scheme on windows 8/8.1 thru oobe back then but not windows 10+
edit : if like beggars appear in this video don’t like it
i miss that alot
Still have original box, so much memories
My Windows 8.x VM never had that for some reason (fsr)
And it was fun too

i like how 'windows 98' are really easily to sign in
0:37 I remember when I got a Gateway PC back in 2000, I turned it on for the first time I got this once. I NEVER saw it again after that. I wanted to try and get it again but I couldn’t.
The first thing I noticed is that Windows 10 strangely removed the ability to name the PC during setup. It looks like it was brought back in Windows 11, but I've heard that doing so now requires a restart (probably due to heaps of MS services running in the background).
Ahh Windows 7
The good ol' days
I like window 7 and window 8.1
Not like ending support like 8 but use windows 10

Good video 😊 Greetings from Poland ❤
Siema ja też!
Windows 11 really needs an option for a dark mode OOBE like every other platform has. I personally find the bright white UI hard to read.
Just go over to settings
@Ecoshine29 buddy do you even know what oobe is?
So sad that they removed Merlin, I loved him 🥲
Okay awesome video!
3:43 Ah yes, my favorite country, Australa
You know Australia is also a country and not just a continent, right?
@@moomszlabIts a typo on vista i guess, Australia not Australa
Look closely, it says Australia not Australa did you not see the I?
@@moomszlabnah oceania is a continent, not australia
@@moomszlab ah, yea, and I guess New Zealand and the Oceanic countries all just are collectively made up and don't actually exist =)
I like how the setup screen aka the out of box experience looks
2:40 Только в XP OOBE была с музыкой.😢
какой музыкой

Thank goodness 😊
Windows XP 7 and 8 setup is so smooth
And looks so good
in my opinion it's 11
5:28 Microsoft Confidential? 😂
no funny, yes...
On secret (internal) versions, the way developers were still working on, not intended for release yet, Microsoft inserted that label as form to advise people who might be seeing, not to leak the system.
Interesting, were the early ones OEM-only?
New oobe with Cortana so cool 😂
8:09
i use arch btw
the merlin on windows whistler turned to a ? in xp
Is terrible how since Windows 10 the oobe process is longer and longer with a lot of steps to setup with a Microsoft Account and set privacy settings and a lot of uselees information. Windows 11 is even worse because if you installed in a computer but you still do not have internet (maybe because you have to install the wifi drivers) you can not continue the oobe steps. You need to write some commands on the Terminal like a Linux guy. The Windows Vista/7 oobe was the better one.
Well, that has been added.

How to get Windows ISO compilations?
Where do you get all the iso's?
Windows 8.0 and 8.1 and Vista and 11 has best OOBE`s
0:52 why windows me is pre-release XP (whistler)
You know Windows 10 RTM and Windows XP is old the new version of them ended support But windows 11 is not a jerk Windows 7 is a jerk
98, 2267 and 2223 is so cool
Can make OOBE with ASUS, Lenovo and etc. edition?
What does Merlin do
How did you get the windows 98 oobe? because i don't see it in regular installation
2:41 rip Merlin
True
How to get into OOBE at Windows 98 SE?
When installing the system for the first time. To work properly and make it show up, proper graphics driver should be detected by the installation program.
If I don't remember bad, even though you supposedly didn't make it show in system installation, you can find the oobe program by finding a folder:
C:\Windows\System\oobe
Thanks! I'm gonna try this!
@@andreeapopescu7274 great😊😊
here before it blows up
The 98 one is mostly meant for OEMs
Cool video
Aren’t there older versions of Windows than 98 (second edition)?
Yes But 98 was the first to have a OOBE
i liked windows 98 SE oobe the most!
These Who miss mertin

What does do
please wait OOBE win 12 XD
I have Windows 10
I have windows 11 maybe we will find a win7 user who knows :)

*RYDER: OOBE, what is that mean?* 🤔
Out-of-Box Experience
@@Wind2000channel Ok, thanks for letting me know what OOBE is standing for.
Out-Of the Box-Experience. It's said this way as a form to present or introduce the system in an interactive form to the user, before using the system.
6:48 what?😂😂😂

Wow windows
Windows 11 22641 24H2
Black mouse is apple 15:40 down is apple 🤣 you love windows is apple!
Black mouse is in almost every os that is not Windows
Actually it’s windows 1.0 to windows 11 but close enough
... it isn't?
Windows 1.0 and 2.0 didnt have oobe. Please know what you talking about
This is why you only trust these "actually..." Comment if it ends with a nerd emoji. /j
@@Quac21I agree OOBE was not even a thing back then the first oobe was in win9x aka windows 95, windows CE windows 97 windows 98 SE windows 98 windows ME
@@kevinplaystudiokps yep, 3.1 had something but it's hard to say that it's OOBE, 1.0 and 2.0 is just a skin for ms-dos
