- I can’t believe I was able to get the new 2025 Supra at MSRP. Let alone, in California where it almost seems impossible these days. Excited to start modding this car!

Exactly man! Everything does happen for a reason. I was going to pay like a $3k+ markup plus more on random stuff added from the dealer with the first Supra a year ago. Glad I never went with it.

I had that issue with reverse when I first got my Supra. I thought I was going to break the car but it loosens up after a while. I tracked mine as soon as I hit 1,000 miles lol so much fun. Welcome to the gang 💪

congrats!! so happy for you two.. Yeah, it took me 9 months to get my 2023 manual at MSRP, and I ended up buying mine in Havasu, AZ. Tustin Toyota is the first dealership I went to, In Nov 2022 they were asking $15k over MSRP for A91 manual in Matte White.. every SoCal dealership had a mark up, at the time (except Longo, but their waiting list was way too long)
There's a UA-cam video on how to change the knob, you'll have to cut the leather after you remove it.. also the wireless carplay can be finicky. Sometimes you'll just need to manually roll the infotainment knob counter clockwise (all the way) and just click on carplay. Another quirk: the car will remember settings by the key. I programmed everything and turned off auto rev match in all modes (cause I like to do it myself too). One day, for some reason, I grabbed the 2nd key and everything was in factory settings.

nice! just bought mine new at MSRP in hawaii 2024 like 2 months ago; black premium 3.0 MT, it was so tempting to floor it but i did baby it and not going over 4krpm, not using sport mode that much till i reached 1200miles. Did a oil change at 1300 then started to rip it. aftermarket intake and dp with no tune yet and it sounds amazing

Supra is a sick car. I was thinking about getting one myself, only problem is the M2 literally starts at about 6k more so I just never saw the reason to get a supra when you can have a real BMW M series for lets say 10k more after all said and done. Supra is still sick tho congratz.

I love M2’s and M3’s also, but I love the Supra a little bit more so that’s why I went with it.

you're forgetting supra buyers typically don't buy a supra to keep it stock. toyota modified the b58 to their standards, aside from the z4 chasis. A performance-tuned mkv is documented to be nearly unbeatable by m series, so the "M" isn't really a motive for most of the buyers.
I like the M2 but it’s too heavy for me. Its weight class is muscle car territory. I don’t like how the M2s are assembled in Mexico unlike M3 or M4. While Supras are built in Grazia plant in Austria making it more European than the M2 lol. The I drive 8 is lazy and lack of physical control is another issue. Supras will also definitely hold its value more than the M2 since it’s a limited production car and Toyota badging.

Tell your wife that the manual is very forgiving to drive, hill start when you need it on a big incline, normally how i activate it is right when im about to go ill quickly press firmly on the break then put it in 1st for a sec and engage clutch and it will hold it for u till u lift off. So much easier than past manuals
the heavy reverse is a typical BMW thing, all BMWs I drove had it. You get used to it over time. Very nice car man, congratulations!

I believe the difference feel in the shifter is actually negative. Bmw shifters are a little rubbery.
Yes I know Toyota had their take on it but it isn’t fully gone.
Still believe Hondas shifters are superior as with seats lol the few things they do right
Great choice for the channel, sat in one recently a bit to small inside for me had to put the seat all the way back to fit comfortably but b58 slaps and it has plenty of modification options

I think the reverse “issue” is a bmw thing. My old 135i had the same thing. I had to slap it to the side and then push it up simultaneously not just move left and up, if that makes sense lol

I just had the exact same scenario happen to me. I drove to one dealership to test drive a 2.0 just to see if i would fit because I am 6'3" tall. left that dealership past an actual Toyota dealership about an hr away from home something told me to turn around and just ask if they had a Supra. low and behold they said no but one was suppose to be coming in. 2hrs later it showed up off the truck. and was already p[aid for and mine. I was beyond excited.
Tustin Toyota is super easy to buy from. Bought our GRC and LC250.

I have a 2020 3.0 base. I don’t have red calipers or the wireless charger under the climate controls. I also don’t have the 8.8 screen 😂

MSRP was $57,730. After taxes and fees that you have to pay (depending what state you’re in), it was $63k flat

Trying to trade my FK8 for one. Only thing I keep thinking about, is how much i love how the FK8 seats feel. How bolstwred they are and hug you in place. Or how I enjoy the feel of the road in the FK8, now that you said it feels floaty in the MK5. Lol.

We had a 2021 Type-R and I agree, those seats are one of the comfiest seats I’ve ever sat in that hold you in place. That was also my favorite and how planted the car felt. Everything felt perfect inside when driving it. You definitely get more road feel in the FK8 than the MK5. I’m hoping some suspension mods in the MK5 will give me more of a raw feeling. A lot of type R owners go from that car to Supras haha. Both great cars tho can’t go wrong with either one

Interior is pretty bland I wish they would have done something similar to mk4 interior
The mk4 interior wraps around the driver with the controls, this one separates the driver completely with that plastic knee guard next to the climate controls

people finance so that if anything happens like ur house burns down then u have a bunch of money still in ur bank account compared to pulling 60k out immediately. imagine u pull 60k out then ur house burns down the next month especially cuz it’s cali and there’s a lot of fires rn

@mikewolf394 To me, those are a "you" problem. Not you specifically, but to the people who can't keep jobs. I've known so many people who lose their job because of their mindset. Some drink too much and get sick and never show up to work and get fired. Some spend a lot of their money on weed instead of their main priorities and let that affect their work as well. Some think "no one knows how to do my job so they can't afford to lose me" is a good reason not to show up. Everyone is replaceable. Everyone.
There are many scenario's i can mention above, but I'm not. People need to learn to take responsibility. So if someone is the type of person who struggles with keeping a job, then they shouldn't probably finance, or definitely not straight out buy a vehicle with cash. They're not responsible enough.
