In this video I drop some tips to hopefully help out some of you from destroying your RCs while you are out bashing and having fun! I hope this video helps you out! - Авто та транспорт
This is helpful for EVERYONE!!!! you're totally right, being humble about your own driving is important.
amen
He makes the mistakes so we don’t have to.
I accepted the fact sooner or later, reguardless of how careful you try to be landing an RC, sooner or later you WILL break something on a bad landing. Not every jump is going to be perfect. I can Run my E- Revo 2.0 off the edge of a water retention pit and it will fly half way across it before coming down. It doesn't always land on all 4 wheels. If you do not want to break your RC car, just leave it on a shelf or get into Rock crawlers that do not go fast. I believe the market base on RC are teens anyway. Show me a teen that doesn't drive an RC wrecklessly. Things break, even you admit this. Good tips to help minimize damage anyway. Over all, great video. Nice job!
That’s funny 🤣. I’ve spent most of my life in auto service & repair and rarely inspect before I go out, and of all those things have happened. Getting older and lazier. Just want to pull the throttle and burn rubber. 🤣🤣
It's nice to have a sturdy crawler to keep you entertained while you wait for parts for the basher!
I sware that’s what’s I’m up against now...guess goin to put a servo in my crawler!
@@devinw9698 Building up the crawler is almost half the fun IMO!
Or buy two exact basher trucks👍
I love your enthusiasm for the hobby and I love your enthusiasm during the videos. Thanks for the great content
In winter.
Thanks for the great videos, It is readily apparent that you put a lot of effort into them.
Thanks. I do. This video took like 6 hours.
Thanks for the tips from this video. IDK how but I never understood why my trucks would break. I just got back into RC trucks, I am mainly fly 500 helis. I originally had an EREVO twin brushed motor. I just got a 2.0 this week and love it. Huge improvement over the first version. I love it.
This was SUPER helpful. Thank u so much man! More people need to watch’s this! This video is exactly what I was looking for!
Super video man, great advice all round.
Great advice, thank you again for being so helpful and cool about a positive approach to this part of our hobby. Solid channel, keep it up and solid thx!!!!
Extremely useful and informative as usual. Thank you.
Great tips, thanks!!! I never thought of checking the glue on tires. I think I have just been getting lucky so far. Have a great day!
Excellent video! Thank you very much for the tips. Just getting started in the hobby myself.
Hank you for Sharing your experience with us. some things are easy to understand and realize and Otters may need a Little bit of practice. Happy New Year - Stay Healthy & keep on bashing 👍🏼.
Greetings from Germany 🏴☠️
You are welcome! Happy New Year!
Try to avoid driving without the body attached to it.
I have never had anyone do that with me around.
I CAN NOT
STAND
When guys run their RC’s without the body on. Lots of 5th scale gasser drivers do that for some strange reason. 🤦♂️
it looked cool to me twice but after considering the after run maintenance, cleaning, the condition of parts after a possible crash it stopped looking cool and they look cooler with the body on. I had a weird taste with cars back then.

I got a erevo for Christmas and I love it
My E-Revo 2.0 has paddle tires on it waiting for snow.
I got an xmaxx

hell yeah. i got a slash for christmas lol
I got an hoss
Great tips. Thank you.
Great tips for a newbie like me. The slo-mo was was really helpful.
Awesome!
Your Maxx vs E-REVO helped me decide which one to buy. I bought the E-REVO & I’m so happy with it. Loving it!
Lol me too.
Thanx dude! I'm new to this hobby, and crashed my buggy 3 times in the first 5 races. Though having lot of fun - think I did any mistake you describe here, and thanx to your precise description, hopefully avoid these in the future :D
Thanks for your videos, I am new to the hobby along with my kids. I bought them both rustlers, and now I am picking up an e revo 2.0 tomorrow. You have really helped me out in getting to know the cars and things to look out for. Keep it up.
thanks man for your helpful tips.
Fantastic video. Always very helpfully. Watching your videos made me bye a revo 2.0. Love it. Wanting a xmaxx next
Lol, never stops at one. Never stops at two either. 💀 I'll tell you what though, as much as I've spent on the hobby, I never once regret spending as much as I have. It is an excape from reality is the only way to describe it. The E-Revo has one very annoying weak link, at least at first, but it is an amazing RC. My nitro Revo has the same problem but I haven't broke one in quite some time at this point. I've been driving my Super Rock Rey, 3XLE, UDR, and 5T too much to use it. RPM makes a true Trac kit that is ment only for the V1 E-Revo but it can be modified to work on the 2.0.
@@SebastianLong one of mate has built up a Katyton exb. So today we off bashing with that. Shud be fun.
@@bridlingtonrcbashers9230 I've heard those have differential issues but I think they've resolved the problem. Either way, just keep an eye on it, at least for a few runs.
Great advice I just purchased an e revo 2.0 and this RC is a beast one could damage it if you don’t get the right landing thanks for the tips
Great tips! Ty!
Great information. You did such a good job explaining what destroys an RC. I like how well you covered jumps. My thought is that until you can master your RC over jumps you should find an area that will provide a soft landing for your car. Tall grass or maybe even some foam or carpet.
Great vid...thx for sharing!
Very useful video!! I just bought the E revo and new into the RC world. Looking to these videos helps a lot, thanks for that! Two questions: what’s the size of the limiting straps you have on the E revo? Did you upgrade the shocks (which ones)? Thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Very informative. Thanx
Very good advice!
Exactly what I needed, literally! 💯👍👍👌👌Just got my E-Revo 2.0, and let's just say I'm not a seasoned R.C driver just yet! 😆 Got a few scuffs on the bottom and hurt my soul! Lol... But I know its part of using it... Was literally going to search if it's normal to scratch your R.C... LMBO. But really, you hit the nail on the head for me! Appreciate you and all the knowledgeable videos! 👍👍
Yeah I know that feeling. The day I got my V1 E Revo I scratched it up and was kinda not happy about it, but thats how it goes.
Excellent, thank you!
wow very informative, thank you, really, thanks a lot!
@18:13 I appreciate this, I'm going to have to keep this in mind lol. I had the same exact experience working with and learning every crevice of the trx4m and scx24 and I knew nothing and a lot of the wrong way to do things lol, but it's been a good learning experience. Now I'm buying my first big RC (besides my mini crawlers, Kyosho Fazer touring car and a Kyosho JetStream 800) and I was stuck on which Brand/model I wanted for a while, but I decided on the Hoss since I ended up with a full set of steel driveshafts and shocks a long while ago and they match the truck perfectly so that's about $100 in upgrades saved + I can solder or just use an adapter for my existing 3S battery to avoid the pricey proprietary..
It should be here tomorrow or Saturday and I'm beyond thrilled. Thanks for the tips and especially the reminder near the end :D I'd hate to end up breaking a bunch of stuff way too soon being totally new to these
Super helpful vid man
Great information. Thank you for sharing. Just curious if you have a suggestion for a first 4WD model (Maxx V2, Revo, Hoss, etc.)? I currently have the 2WD Rustler. I appreciate your time and thoughts.
Great vid and tips!
I like how you included the 2WD Stampede. That truck is what started my unhealthy obsession with this hobby 😂
My brothers first RC was a Stampede 4x4. He told me "I'm 30 years old playing with an RC....until I hit the throttle and it did a wheelie". My first hobby grade RC was the Revo 3.3. I still have it in fact. My brother still has his Stampede, but overly modified. Lol.
Tell me about it. Bought a 2wd stampede in June 2020, then I had to buy rpm part, a servo saver, then an indoor cat, a latrax rally
Same for me I still have it and now a 4x4
Same🤣
Same my first ever rc car was the 2wd stampede got it for 160 euro which is nothing in the netherlands it also got a dope monster mutt body still have the car
I got a new arrma bigruck and i have Broken it🙈
Love the video👍🏻
Yep good advice there buddy!! All of my rc's are sidelined because I keep forgetting to inspect them before and after a run.
You will get the hang of it. Just make a reminder. Maybe put a reminder on your transmitter
As someone who had my e revo for 3 days and had it detonate the diffs from using self right 5 minutes into my second run, I thank you for pointing that out because nobody else does for some reason :/
Yeah I hear a lot of people blow up their E Revo with that feature. Get it repaired and get back to bashing!
Hello man 🙋🏻♂️
Just wanted to say thanks
So 💁🏻♂️ thank you for what you are doing for us and I watched the whole video man hahaha... But really, so thumbs up 👍🏾
Very informative. Thank you so much.
Thanks for the info , don’t think any one has done some thing like this and it’s helping me a lot as a beginner , I have a maxx just and fyi.
I was initially having trouble with Erevo tires ripping away from the wheel, but I saw (on a prank new pair) that there was a small gap between the tire and wheel. I filled in that gap with tire glue and haven’t had any trouble since.
I inspected my slash and stampede before using them today and found out that the wheel nuts were loose. Thanks for the great tips!
See? there you go!
I thrash on my RCs so I know what breaks and what doesn't. I then buy a number of that part. Now not everyone is as fortunate as you and I and don't have the extra money for the spare parts. Also helps to have a number of RCs in case one breaks and I don't have the part. Good video for those just getting into the hobby or only have a couple.
Also it is very coincidental that this video is the only time I've seen your Stampede other than your video where you showed your collection. The part that's the coincidence is that yesterday I fixed my brothers Stampede 4x4 after it's been sitting untouched for like 6 months if not more. My brother has been using his SBR and Rock Rey.
I actually have several videos of my Stampede, but they are not on this channel. I have some that are made with a drone and with music and everything.
I check all my screws and for other damage after I run my RC vehicles. I didn't use to do that and I have paid the price with lost bolts, and parts coming off my RC vehicles indeed. Good video 👍
Great tips and video
Thanks
Great video 👍👍🇦🇺
I snapped an extreme duty axle doing tight donuts on a hard surface. When the tire finally got traction SNAP! Live and learn. Part of the hobby is repairs.
1/8 brushless buggy has extreme control in the air. They make monster trucks look clumsy lol. They are like a scalpel with fine control in the air. And extremely strong.
1/8 racing buggy kits are always best for bashing. Extremely high quality parts. And you build the kit your self. So you know it’s all assembled properly.
great video, thx man
If you would use the mesh drywall tape all inside your bodies, then smear shoe goo all over, or spray with flex seal your body's will last 10x longer, and either one is very flexible. Good tips!
I have that inside my xmaxx body. That is such a pain in the butt that I'd rather just buy a new body lol. I have more money than time.
Video helped Me out so much
Got two Mojave BLX 6s V2. Red one to build up with parts as a shelf queen and the Green one, well we're gonna Send It!🏁👍😂
The rc hobby has taught me the value of using lock nuts. For some reason that's always the first upgrade I do to my RC's, I try to put lock nuts anywhere I can on my RCs. Lol.
Very helpful! Thanks for this. There are tons of gear "reviews", which are usually paid promotions, and "watch me jump my truck 50 feet in the air" videos, but sadly little in the way of videos on tips and driving techniques.
I’m glad you liked it!
great video
Thanks!
So good
Thanks so much glad I subed
I'm glad you did also!
Good thing I bought me some Skateboard ramps, they're not very high and it should be just right height. I just got me Bezgar HM123 and fixing to buy me another RC. Both 1/12 scale. I think its a great start for me.
You seem the most helpful, I just got the NON VXL rustler 4x4, I’m pretty confident now in sport mode around the house to go faster. What do you recommend? So far the only thing I’ve done to (try) make it faster, I just used the reverse tread on the rear tires… what can I do to make it faster for under 💯👌😅
Add 2 teeth to the pinion gear but watch for temps on the esc and motor after you do so thats only about 5-10 dollars so not bad at all and traxxas does have a trade in program to upgrade to something brushless
I got an axial smt10 gravedigger for my birthday and a brushless conversion for Christmas and my suspension arm broke because of my stock receiver being faulty so I might add a traxxas receiver to it. Sometimes when I let go with acceleration it will go faster or it would slam the steering into one direction causing my vehicle to break
So what motor esc would like suggest? Castle? Tekin rx8? TP? Hobby wing is no go for me
What springs and oil weight for jumping are you using for your E Revo 2.0?
What a good video.
How would I go about getting the rubber off my rc tires so I can replace my foam the correct way? I’ve seen people say boil them and the adhesive comes off but I’m not sure if the plastic on my e revo tires will like that... opinions on adhesive to put them back on would help too 😁
I've never actually taken tires off the wheels before. I have seen people say do a lot of different things and I've seen people fail at it. I'm not the person to ask.
I love how he has all these fast cars and he still buys the cheap Traxxas 2-wheel drive Stampede you have my respect😁👌🔥
That was actually my first off road RC. Before that I had only had nitro street cars like the 4tec or the GT4. I still break the Stampede out to demo it for parents and people new to the hobby.
@@outsourcedrc yeah man I have a no prep drag car that can go 87mph I would love to see more 2wd models from you but the 4x4 vids are sick too outsourced. I love the truthfulness and the honesty I'm a subscriber for life 😁😎
@@addictedrcguy259 Thank you!
I like breaking my Traxxas. Cheap & easy to fix. Arrma not so much. Appreciate your videos.
After washing I tried Finish Line Dry bicycle chain lube that is supposed to dry after application and leave a teflon coating. It didn't work, I had sandy grit everywhere I lubed it. I'll give the silicone lubricant a try.
adjusting the trims on your radio too
wheels nice and tight for sure lost a dang tekno tire nut second run
Thank you! Just payed $150.00 for four X Maxx tires. I didn’t realize what wheelies were doing to them.
I can't speak for the 6s Typhon but I have a 3s Typhon running on 4S and I have crashed that thing basically every way imaginable and haven't broken anything yet. I bash it just as hard as I bash my Maxx.
My standard procedure is to check over the car after each session so then I have time to take care of any issues and have it ready for next time I want to go out bashing
I like your video. For those of us who have to pay for our trucks (not mum and dad or sponsors), looking after them makes more sense than trying to smashing them with huge air time. Yeah big air is fun and looks cool but in the real world, who does this as a percentage of those who have RCs?
I jump mine a lot, but I rarely crash them
Everything listed is everything that I find fun about RC. Good video but most people unfortunately learn the hard way. Gotta pay to play!😁
Mine just broke hr ago and I was bashing good too no jumps just halling ass hit big rock size my tire now it’s in shop 1/16 e revo soo fun for beginner now I know wat to do when I’m getting it
I feel your pain I crashed my new plane on its maiden flight today. It is more of a rarity to not break something when taking out an RC, then it is to bring it back as it left. Just don't destroy it and your good.
@@Kirk_Wood I say the same thing in my head
@@Kirk_Wood yes bro I try and take care of it Maintain it tighten screws etc
Great video very helpful
I’m watching this video a year after bashing and almost destroying my red cat dukono a year ago I went full speed trying to use a uneven slab of sidewalk pavement as a ramp I thought front wheels would pop up and go nose up in the air and jump but instead it hit slab and went end over end and screwed up servo that i could make full right turns but when I turned left it wouldn’t make full left turns I learned my lesson that day I replaced servo and no longer make high speed jumps on uneven sidewalks lol I do high speed jumps off curbs lol
Please tell me what percentage do you recommend to keep the brake set? I always break the cups on the rear differential because of the brake, I say because the game always makes it in the reverse position, not forward. Thanks a lot!
I just have it stock. I'ver never changed the brakes.
Thank you
What gearing are you running for the e revo? Already know what batteries cause I watched your other videos
Stock gearing.
@@outsourcedrc Seriously? That's sweet! my e revo 2.0 flips a little slower o i was just wondering. Thanks man and keep up the good vids.
@@JG-oc9gc I'm not sure why. Maybe its the batteries?
Do you prefer belted tires to prevent the ballooning?
Nope. I don't need belted. I don't blow my tires like that
I only do donuts in snow and loose soil for some reason I can’t do them on blacktop or hard packed dirt lol
Wow man that was really good advice And the hardest part is the more power and speed and how easy it is to get carried away and forget how much you paid for your car parts after you broke them.
thanks!
About the stamped 2wd on the a arm screw backing out put ONE of the screws in backwards then you will never have that problem again
Speaking of the Erevo. Mine won’t run and all the lights are flashing red on the esc. You ever had this happen ?
Nope, but I have heard of it happening. I'm not sure what the issue is. I'd ask in the E Revo facebook group or something.
Howdy! Can you please tell me if at the time of the jump the Stability Management function helps me to have a more correct jump or if the car lands on wheels or the worse Stability Management function confuses me when I fall I want to jump on a ramp? Thank you very much!
The TSM hurts you when you are in the air. It turns the wheels thinking you are on the ground.
@@outsourcedrc
Okay, thanks for the tip! I read this but I wanted to convince myself
I put a Kreighton 6s motor and esc in the hoss 4x4 vxl

I like the reference for nascar go Chase Elliott
Outsourced RC, had a ❓ question for you, if you can help me get some peace of mind, just got my erevo 2.0, question is, the back wheels seem a bit crooked, they don't seem to be exactly straight, is that normal or do I have an issue or have to align them via the rods to make them straight? Thanks much...
Research camber and toe.. the toe in is usually not adjustable on most RC. The camber is adjustable if your upper attachment is a turn buckle. Turn the center rod until the wheel moves inward or outward.
I upgraded to the aluminum on my back wheels and that turned them in considerably. Is that what happened with yours? I was trying to figure out how to fix that myself. I’m thinking about putting them in advice and tweaking them to get them straight.
Do you have a 3s system or Xmaxx motor that you don't need?
Nope.
How do you make a ramp like this? Ive made 2 with plywood and they keep breaking
I have a video on my channel showing exactly how I made them. I have double sheets of plywood on the deck to protect it. I was breaking through my old ramps.
Off subject but can anyone contest if the wing on the erevo is functioning or is it for show? I'm looking to shed some weight.
Any RC that goes over 60 needs some kind of wing or spoiler most of the time.
The 60-70 mph mark is where aerodynamics start to really be a factor on 10th scale RC's
At low speeds, it acts like a bumper. It absorbs impacts so that you don't break the rear of the chassis. I've seen people do this.
Oh I also own a traxxas rustler 4/4 3s and the Arrma Kraton 4s and 2 Chinese brands XLF AND LEGENDARY
I‘m using self righting on my Xmaxx since 3 years never had problems with the drivetrain
I also self right my Maxx. I've done it hundreds of times with no ill effects. I'm sure it is harder on the drivetrain than not doing it but at least for the max it doesn't seem to cause any issues.
I've had a ton of people say they have broken their drive train with the self right. I've never had issues with it either, but I dont use it much at all.
@@outsourcedrc yeah I didn't ever use It until I was testing axle reinforcement sleeves for the maxx wide kit that I eventually sold a bunch of. Seeing that no harm was done to the maxx during that extensive torture testing I kept using it and still have had no issues with it. I can't speak for other Traxxas vehicles though as the maxx is the only one I've used it on.
With my new Keaton 6s exb it has so much power that I was ripping through a grass field, the front end began lifting off. I let up, front came down began flipping me into a freaking cartwheel. 😂😅. I wasn’t even jumping and all of a sudden it’s in a 30 foot cartwheel. Everything looks ok. But still.
My method is send them, break them and upgrade until it becomes a tank.
