So cool! I'm a month into my time traveling Alaska, actually made a home base in Wasilla. Making my way around the Mat-Su Valley and Anchorage while waiting for places to open for season. I drove down Glenn highway and traveled Parks to Denali. It is stunning, at every turn of the head. I'm loving Josh's reviews of all last year and now your synopsis as I am finding in my 60's sometimes I just want to "stroll" on easy hikes, too! I can't believe I'm finally here! Thanks, Pops!
Sounds like you are in the middle of a wonderful trip! Stunning at every turn of your head is a great way to describe it. Glad the videos are helpful!!
Great video! The scenic photo at 1:43 with the fireweed, lake, and mountains in the bright sunshine is spectacular! I rode the Alaska Railroad from Anchorage to Denali in 1986, and it was just as beautiful. Got to see lots of moose, grizzlies, Dall sheep, and wolves too! Your helicopter flight to the glacier video is one of my all-time favorites...
Summer of “2023” ☺️ But maybe it means you guys will come back to Alaska:) And what a great time on the helicopter tour. Thank you guys for joining me:) Holly
Loved seeing those highlights, SO many reasons to go to Alaska, it should be on everyone's list! I am a big train buff, so would definitely take advantage of the train options. Got a chuckle about the Moose sightings as I moved to North Idaho some 30 years ago and looked for moose for years before I saw one and was so ecstatic , but over time with all the development, they started coming into town more and every Spring a mom would bring her youngins to our work building and munch down all the spring growth on the bushes! But I DO still get a kick out of seeing them a few times a year. Now deer on the other hand, not so much, lol!
First! 😊 Fantastic video! We are planning on going in 2026. How cool to hike ON a Glacier! And the train will definitely be at the top of our list! THANKS POPS!!
Thanks so much! You can hike on the glacier I mentioned in the video or you can also hike on the Metanuska glacier. If you go to Through My Lens, ua-cam.com/video/JN11JClxdA4/v-deo.html and at about 1 hour and 30 min in, you can see when we did that hike. You can't miss with the train. So relaxing and you can see areas that the highways won't take you. Thanks for watching!
@popshiking that sounds awesome!!! We have watched every single one of Josh's videos, it's our Saturday nite thing lol. How did you get to Glacier Bay National Park? Did you drive there?
Look at some of Josh’s videos at Through My Lens if you haven’t yet as we drive there from Los Angeles and you can get some ideas especially going through British Columbia and the Alaska highway. Thx for watching!
