Your video are great not only because you showcase a variety of different species across the globe, but you also do it with an Aussie accent and beautifully cook and honour the fish you catch!!! Big up from Tassie
Yesterday was my first time spearfishing. You are one of the reason I decided to do it. I have been watching your videos for couple years now. I got quote incredible start to this. I shot 860gram perch here in Finland which is quite huge!
Daniel and Hanna, watching your video I enjoy every time, thank you very much. I wish you have every thing to do this movie ( difficult to tell job). Have a nice day, and as usually you simple the best, because you show not only for me simple thing ( of course necessary understand we have to work to get such result) but the best thing too (not killing fish, but to be with family, friends, cook food for them and enjoy life ). By mind every time with you!!!
I used to live in far north queensland, watching this video gives me nostalga of catching and eating these delicous fish and I wish i could go there again some day
Top quality stuff!!! Nice trout there Daniel! I have seen the Japanese cook the skin to become crispy....now i really got to try it with a 2-3kg grouper!!!
Love your videos mate! I'm from Sydney and got into spear fishing a few years back, I'm living in the UK at the moment as well. I miss it so much but your videos help loads. Would love to give it a go in Europe one day.
I love the Australia vids, especially the ones to Brissy. Its a place Im going to be calling home in the next few months so its really good to see there are fish around too!
great stuff. beautiful coral trout and tusky. Nice bit on the belly flap and wings. ill refer back to this to do that myself in august as the wife and i are back to the big island 🥳 thanks as always for the great content!
Daniel, another great video.....cooked fish looked delicious. Looked great fun too. I would struggle to part with the boat with those spearfishing areas. Thanks for posting. Looking forward to the next one.
@@DanielMann Understandable. The more stuff we own ....the more it owns us. Love the vids though. Keep an eye out all the time for new ones. Stay safe and have fun.
My dad and I love Moses Pearch. Bit surprised Grassy Sweetlip is your favourite eating fish, most people I know are more into the Spangled or Reds of the Emperors. Great vid mate.
Grassy and red throats taste the best, spangled emperor can get chewy after about 4kg and red emperors aren’t actually an emperor species but rather a tropical snapper 😎
They already exist, Back 2 Basics adventures have coral trout pattern diveR’s on their website. I actually saw the pattern too when I was visiting the factory last year 👌

@DanielMann thank you was on 16:9 5.3k 30fps and my vids were blurry ect. Let alone trying to get the angle of my gopro correct haha. Yesterday got 1 bowfin and 4 suckers. Had 2 stare downs from like a 3-4ft northern pike might have been 2 different ones and my gopro was tilted to low and was to blurry lol. Now gotta be diciplined to turn on my camera before shooting a fish haha. Still new. Yesterday was my first catch. The training paid off though. First day shooting a fish brought back 5 fish. Thankyou for all your help. I enjoy this sport alot haha got off videogames replaced with this!. Im a really active person so this really helped me gave me goals to work towards. Depth and breath hold training, identifying fish speed without hesitation ect. Maybe if you dont already have a breath hold training vid? A go pro angle short vid?
Bag limits and possession limits are the same I believe. You could easily shoot 30 various fish each and be well within bay limits. Quite crazy actually.
From my quick google tricky snapper seems to refer to red throat, grass or spangled emperors. They are all different and I have a video on them. ua-cam.com/video/OnRwQJvqjjE/v-deo.html
@@DanielMann It should be but I see if too often where fillets with skin on are thrown in one big pile. Any way hope you enjoyed coming back too aus for a dive 🍻
@@DanielMann Ok, still very impressive. Just timed myself now &, made 40 seconds. Looks like i would go hungry. Or perhaps i should invest in a scuba tank and some lessons..
Scuba spearfishing is illegal in a lot of the world. In the water it’s easier to hold your breath. Then again you don’t need to hold your breath that long to shoot a fish. In NZ you don’t even have to leave the surface!

Always awesome videos. One of the biggest reasons I've gotten more serious about spearfishing.
Glad to hear it 🙌

Thanks for watching, I imagine there are even more fish in FNQLD. This is all the way south in Brisbane.
Wish to See You And Jesse Dive Again Soon,,One Love 🇱🇨👊🏼👍🏼♥️
Top quality stuff!!!
Nice trout there Daniel!
I have seen the Japanese cook the skin to become crispy....now i really got to try it with a 2-3kg grouper!!!
Thanks Dimos! I think the skin from a small stera might work or mostella. Something with small fine scales. Or dotto of course!
Fantastic Video once again!

Dan, love the footage and got a sense you had a really nice time out. Great stuff!
Sure did, thanks Ralph!
As amazing as always! Great video.
Thank you very much 🙌
Great vid!! Loved the first shot on the Emperor, stopping it right in it's tracks 😎
Gotta agree with you...grassy's are one of the best eating fish out there!👍
Fun to shoot and better to eat.
Always the best ones.
I really appreciate and enjoy your videos

Awesome video as always, very informative🔥 You are so far the best video editor and a big inspiration to me..🙏
Lay a cloth down beneath the fish to keep it from sliding around. Works like a charm
I thought I was the only person that fried fish skin. Fish skin chips are a family favorite here.
Great content as always Dan -- Cheers
Binge watching your stuff. Great content man and inspirational. Can’t wait to get out on the reef this weekend and nail me a snapper
Great instructions on the collar and cracklings. Also noticed an interesting bit of code switching in your speech.
Really nice video Daniel! Thank you!!
Glad you enjoyed it Ayman 👌
Good visibility. Good fish
Another sick vid 🔥🔥
Thank you!
Good show mate!
Cheers Nate!
Great video enjoyed it
Thank you!
nice one bro🤪🤝
I watched that ship carrying the wind turbine blades unload in port off my own boat. what a coincidence.
Such amazing fish so close to city, just gotta know where to look hey!
Brisbane is fantastic for spearfishing but a boat is required for most of it.
Nice catch, i need to try to deepfy the fish skin because it looks amazing!
It’s really tasty, you need to find a fish with very small scales though like coral trout or Mahi Mahi.
@@DanielMann Does salmon work? I caught one just now😊
Never tried salmon but only one way to find out! The scales are quite small on salmon so might work great.
@@DanielMann I’ll try it out and let you know:)
Bro been dying to get off bris diving! Love the vid yew 🤙🏾
🎉Another one
Epic stuff!
Thanks guys!
You seem to have that orca very well dialed in! What stretch percentage are those bands? Looks like a nice smooth release
This is my home made speargun in this video. Very similar to the orca. I think the bands are about 2.8 stretch factor, nothing crazy.

16 meter visebillety is very nice. I dived yesterday and i couldent see my feet:)
I know the feeling, we have that often in the U.K.!
What would make those lines in the sand @2:44 ?
So when the noob spearo cook book volume 2 gets released will they adding your trout skins in there? Man that looks so good.
It’s about as simple as it gets so I’m sure they’d put it in.
@@DanielMann Here's hoping 😂
14:04 I’d pick up a pair of blades with that pattern on them. Someone let DiveR know. I’ll even test a pair out if they’ll send me a set 🤣

great vid thanks....peace out
hi daniel mann i love your videos i wanted to ask why didnt you shoot the orange spotted grouper
They are very common and I prefer to eat other fish. Not so easy to clean!
Awesome stuff as usual Daniel!! Can you please refer me to your brother for some mechanical engineering, where does he work?
Thanks George, I’m sure you could find him on linked in, hard to keep track of all the places he works!
"Only burned a thousand megalitres to get it here' HAHAHAHA
Awesome hurting and get the gain fish

Hey brother what resolution you use on your gopro when spearfishing underwater?
Always 4K in 4:3.

what are the bag limits for you guys daily if you were to be out ther basically every other day?

When you said it was the last time I was thinking this story was gonna be a tragedy.
No, just left the country!
Nice video. Did you leave the scales on the skin?
Sure did, they are tiny little things.
Whats the difference between a grassy emperor and a tricky snapper?
From my quick google tricky snapper seems to refer to red throat, grass or spangled emperors. They are all different and I have a video on them. ua-cam.com/video/OnRwQJvqjjE/v-deo.html
Just had to say it was a little deep for your brother 😂
His words not mine!
Good stuff and cracker tusky. good too see when your filleting that you go flesh too flesh once filleted too keep them out of the slime and water 👌🏽
Isn’t that just standard procedure?? Flesh go flesh and then skin to skin if you must stack them up 🙂

do you guys don’t have painted sweetlip?

I’ll take it

Are snappers same as dorada/Orata?
Similar family of sea breams or sparidae yes. Most similar to the urta or red banded sea bream in Europe.
How long do you hold your breath for?
I don’t think any of the dives were over 1:30 on this day.
