So grateful to have had Dr. Walter Martin speak at our Chapel when I was in Junior High School. I was so moved by the presence of God with him, I will never ever forget leaving that day. Took me many more years to begin my walk with the Lord, but that day sowed immeasurable seed.
This message got me through 5 years of college, 50 years ago. Essential listening for everyone, believer or non-believer.
Thank you for posting this!
I listen to WALTER MARTIN Everyday AND I MEAN EVERYDAY
I do too 😊
Great teacher
The Christian God is the best explanation for the origin of the universe, for the design of the universe, for the existence of objective moral values and duties, and for the facts surrounding the resurrection of Christ. Read "On Guard," by William Lane Craig.
If a being made God then he wouldn't be God. The being that grounds him would be God. God is the greatest conceivable being and infinite. There is no one greater or beyond him.
It's fair to say that Hume is no longer a skeptic 😉
Checkmate Atheist!
Today, most scientists believe the universe came into existence.
Walter was an evidential apologist not a classical apologist. A classical apologist would first show that miracles are possible if a theistic God exists. So he would proceed to give arguments for the existence of God, and from there argue that miracles are therefore possible. Walter is right, Hume defined miracles out of existence, but he never disproved their possibility. He assumes Unitarianism -- the view that the present is like the past. So according to Hume, since we haven't seen a miracle, he concluded that the miracle stories of the past must not have happened. This is fallacious reasoning,
Not much better than a study soulger with good quotes! GTJ!!
