"Smaller chaos emeralds inside it"
Reminds me of the Sonic 2 movies depiction of the master emerald.
did you know sonic blast game gear had an emerald that contained 5 smaller ones within
The Chaos Emeralds have received the same treatment as Dragon Balls. From those legendary mystic objects to...
Piccolo: "Hey, Bulma! Don you happen to have the Dragon Balls?"
Bulma: "Yeah, sure, I have them right here."
Piccolo: "Cool, see you later."
Hilarious that fang describing the "8th" chaos emerald is not only a reference to the orange chaos emerald from sonic the fighters but also a reference to the plot of Sonic Blast where eggman tried to shoot Sonic but knuckles threw a chaos emerald in the way and it got split into five smaller parts of a chaos emerald
I'm sorry, Eggman tried to w h a t

@@chriscombs21886I DID! 🤪 On the original arcade at a Pizza Hut place in NYC I bought Sonic Gems Collection for the GameCube and the rerelease for the PS3
I played sonic the fighters but i never realized there are 8 chaos emeralds
The Orange one
The fact it was retconned by the time the Warp Topaz was revealed in the Classic series as a prequel to Sonic Superstars.
2 things:
1. As stated by many others, the 8th chaos emerald does indeed come from the arcade game, sonic the fighters, which (fun fact) is also sonic’s first 3d game (sonic 3d blast came out in November, SoF came out in June)
And
2. (I hope I’m remembering this correctly if not, feel free to correct me) it’s actually stated somewhere in the IDW comics that the “8th emerald” is actually the warp topaz, which is… er, was, owned by starline.
Haha, the platypus fucking died!
Gotta love how the IDW Sonic writers are fully aware of how inconsistent the series lore can get, and go as far as using that as a joke, if not an actual plot point, for a canon story.
I knew right away we are going Sonic Fighters with this 🤣
But even Sonic and Robotnik couldn't find the seventh during their first face off, so yea 🤣
0:28 that akward silence of Sonic trying to comprehend whatever Fang has in his mind instead of knowledge killed me 🤣
If this was really the case, then wouldn't Sonic need to find that Chaos Emerald in order to go Super? I mean, based off the lore that's seems like a logical assumption, right?😅
Yup
Fang I'd in sonic fan mod making random stuff like some fans like look a 8 chaos emereld with rainbow color or gold
Well, no not really. We already know that chaos emeralds interact very strangely when used in certain amounts in accordance to colours (such as if you have a batch of five and one is purple, they explode).
If an eighth did exist, sonic would still likely only need 7 to go super, but the eighth would have some separate interaction.
If we go by old archie comic lore (not canon to the games), there are thousands of chaos emeralds, sonic only needs 7 to go super and the rest can be stored elsewhere.
@@Kaleidio actually the 8th chaos Emerald does exist if we count the one from sonic the fighters.
@@Kaleidio True, but it is entirely possible that this is some separate timelines shenanigans that only affects Classic Sonic. We have yet to here of anything involving other Chaos Emeralds in the main game timeline. And while yes, technically Classic Sonic is still part of the main timeline, it is entirely possible that some things in Classic Sonic's world/section of time got screwed with thanks to the Time-eater. And while yeah, it is entirely possible that other Chaos Emeralds exist in the Canon timeline. There is A LOT of evidence to suggest that this is NOT the case, and that the main 7 Chaos Emeralds might have been getting shared around galaxies.
@@RClipsGaming101 srb2 mystic realm: black emerald srb2: wireframe emerald triple trouble 16-bit: dark emeralds (technically the piccolo half of the regular 7)
Reading the comments and learning all this obscure info has been a trip.
"Did everyone learn their lesson? Or do they need an act 2?" 😂😂
I guess it was foreshadowing considering tails made a fake one, so technically that's the eighth chaos emerald, and it is a golden/piss color
This whole mini series is so silly goofy i love them so much.. (NOZ YOU'RE SO AWESOME LITERALLY THIS IS SO SILLY AND AWESOME)
Legend has it that the 8th, 9th, 10th, and 11th chaos emeralds are the ones traveling through Sonic 06’s closed time loops
You'd expect Bean to want a bomb or something
actually, it makes sense, because bean is a playable character in virtua striker 2, a soccer game
Why? He can produce a near infinite amount
Nebula tense story cerials: the 8th emerald is the dark Grey emerald, it was discovered by ag-99, also the master emerald was always on mobius, the chaos emeralds (and the new 8th one) were brought to mobius by the ancients (the ancients somehow, lost the 8th one fsr)
Each one of Fang's sources are references to prior games. The orange one is a reference to Sonic the Fighters, the rainbow one is a reference to Sonic Blast (which is a chaos emerald that was split into 5 different coloured shards), and I believe the Gold one is a reference to Tails's fake SA2 emerald (which was gold/yellow in colour). The whole thing is a reference to multiple facets of early Sonic, where the specific number of the Chaos Emeralds was MOSTLY 7, but was prone to change depending on the game. For example, in Sonic 1, it was 6. The 7th only appeared in Sonic 2. (In Sonic Spinball, there are 16 emeralds. Which is very funny, and very insane.)
Figured people might enjoy this information being placed into one comment since a lot of the comments seem to be focusing on either only the Sonic the Fighters portion of the reference, or don't fully understand the references at all. (Which, by the way, it's okay if you don't! These are pretty obscure references)
Good dub, by the way. I enjoyed it
You done a really awesome job on the voice dubbing for Sonic Fang & Bean I enjoyed watching this and Fang's own mini series as well. Keep It up 😊👍
this is accurate to the competitive scene of stf as well because sonic is a top tier
everyone is viable though, especially Bean, so it'd take a lot more effort
fun fact: the rainbowy emerald is a reference to sonic blast, where going by the manual it's just one of the 7 emeralds but it breaks into 5 shards
The eighth emerald is a Sonic the Fighters reference.
It's also the reason, why Fang knows about the emerald and why these three are grouped together. It was their main / last appearance.
And the soccerball is a reference to Bean's secret cameo in Virtua Striker 2 and his character profile in the game's guide book, that only released in Japan.
I always imagined the eighth emerald being orange so Fang's theory checks out (at least for me)
There is bo 8th chaos emerald.
This is referring to the 8 emeralds in Sonic Championship aka Sonic the Fighters.
And those were each the same color as the fighter they were associated with, which act as tokens in a tournament. I doubt they were real or that whoever developed that game was really knowledgeable or attentive to canon and lore. Sonic likely had all the chaos emeralds the whole time.
And as good as an explanation as that is, I’m sure Ian Flynn will find some creative outlandish way to address it that’s not straight forward. lol
Fang remembers the old spin-off games but Sonic doesnt.
Nice dubbing, the voices fit each character well. And the music and sound effects are placed quite well, too.
Can you guys imagine if Eggman decided to not play around and make his own chaos emerald.
Everyone knows there's no 8th Chaos Emerald, right? If there is one(1) out of eight(8), why does Bean need a premium soccer ball?
the multicolored one from sonic blast game gear with 5 other emeralds inside?
the black emerald from srb2 (sonic robo blast 2) mystic realm?
the wireframe emerald from black hole zone (also srb2)?
sonic the fighters?
idk
Bean was a hidden character in virtua striker 2. which was a soccer game.
@@Wheee7245 The SRB2 ones probably aren't good examples.
But there was a Black Emerald in the Archie comics.
@@iananderson4754 So, that explains why his favorite sport is soccer? That's my best friend/sidekick's favorite sport.
Idk, mabe he likes kicking balls or something
My headcanon is that the reason we never really see these characters in modern mainline sonic games anymore is because they are still too busy searching for that 8th chaos emerald to this day.
The only time there has ever been an 8th Chaos Emerald was in Sonic the Fighters
Just so you all know
Dang. I thought that I came up with the idea of an 8th and 9th chaos emerald... well, I still came up with their abilities.
I'm guessing this was in reference to how there were 8 Chaos Emeralds in Sonic Fighters, huh?
Which was also the first time Bark and Bean showed up in a Sonic game. Nack/Fang turned up previously in Triple Trouble.
This is too funny. Fang, Bean & Bark's incompetent natures are legendary. I know that this is a semi-reference to Sonic The Fighters(kinda wish that I could get the PS3 version, ngl), but I don't think that there's any rainbow-colored Emerald, unless a canonical HYPER EMERALD becomes a thing. Orange or Gold? I'm not sure about Gold, but I've seen Orange in Sonic R. That said, alternate forms, colors, & powers throughout different universes and continuities, like Blaze's dimension, & the Sol Emeralds, but that's not going to happen, unless they want to break dimensional barriers, which they're nowhere smart enough to do. So like Sonic said, we're safe.
This is a cute little reference to multiple things, Sonic The Fighters which featured Fang Bean and Bark as well as an 8th Chaos Emerald, Sonic Blast who's intro featured five emeralds bursting out of a giant multicoloured emerald and a nod to how in the classic games, the 7th emerald would be inconsistent in colour, often being orange, gold or light blue.
Love the voice for Fang!

Wasn’t there originally an 8th in Sonic 3?
I am right
I only have one thing to add:
What about the super emeralds from Sonic 3&Knuckles? Where do these count?
Like you said, they're super emeralds, not chaos emeralds. Besides, the super emeralds are powered-up chaos emeralds, so you can't have a super emerald without losing a chaos emerald
Why does the phantom ruby react to the chaos emeralds?
There's literally 7 emeralds, the big one was the master emerald. Where did he get that idea from?
In sonic the fighter game where fang is from their was 8 emeralds
Friendly reminder that pre-adventure there implied to multiple sets of chaos emeralds not just 7. But Adventures onwards Sega declared there are only 7 chaos emeralds with the Master Emeralds.
This just isn't true, the games since sonic 2 have had it formly established that there's 7 emeralds and they frequently go into a different dimension that can be accessed from many places in the world, the only things with other emeralds are fighters, where fang brought a fake emerald to join for the prize money, the archie comics, which aren't canon and never have been, and spindash, which isn't canon and follows the archie stuff
@@arzfan29 that’s the modern canon, and trying to clean up the abandoned concept. As early Japanese manuals hinted each island to have there own sets of emeralds. In fact Knuckles actually assumed Sonic stole Angel Island’s set.
The Sonic Bible mentions there being at least being 7 emeralds and Robotnik only found 6. So despite the fact the first game only had 6 they were teasing there being more.
Fang’s fake one was only explained recently by Ian to be a fake. Because no information was available where it came from.
Spindash wasn’t Archie it was the American division of Sega. As they were the ones who came up with the freedom fighters NOT Archie.
Archie was it’s own universe and even then still were given rules on game concept/characters. And the chaos emeralds having a limit wasn’t introduce until Ian Flynn came along to rewrite the comic closer to the games.
Fun fact about Adventure 1 it was consider a reboot of the brand because they wanted to streamline things and change. Amy age was retcon, designs, and the fact the games were the main canon now.
As before then SEGA actually encourage their divisions to make up their own Sonic mythos for their respective markets. America had Archie comics and several cartoons, UK had their own comic, and even Japan itself made a manga that reimagine Sonic as a superhero closer to Spider-Man.
WHAT I THOUGHT THERES SEVEN OF THEM

so weirdly enough, there is a possible explanation for this? in sonic battle eggman's robots are powered by chaos emerald shards, despite every emerald being present. which would require eight emeralds for one to be shattered......
At the end of the comic it turns out that there was no 8th emerald. The Sonic Battle one? I don't know it's been a long time since I last played that game
@@hulyaterzi8560 i meant mainly in the game continuity, but indeed, i'm aware how it ends. thank you though, best to clarify for the readers
The eighth one was pink I believe. Play Sonic 2.
This is honestly a pretty tone deaf reference considering each island had its own set of emeralds in the classic games. I mean it still works, but it's not as clever as it's trying to be.

i just wanna point out that not only is he right about there being at least eight and likely more (sonic the fighters not only had eight emeralds, but changed the colour of some of the existing ones) but sonic has reason to believe him, since at first it was believed there were only six emeralds.
