True but if you noticed, Amy was telling Sonic to let her choose what she wanted for herself. If anything, she was being empowered but wanted to take things as offense because she's resigned herself to be a victim of everyone.
@@Netherwolf6100 That's why I genuinely dislike her as a person. As a character I guess she's alright. Her trauma should not be a justification for her behaviour, some of us have been through messed up stuff in life but y'all don't see us lash out on innocent people lol.
You can tell Surge was having a blast this entire issue.
I love how sonic doesnt believe thier shit for even a MILLISECOND.

@@SoaringFox16 He literally wants to kill Tails just to get back at Sonic for, seeming, trying to kill Surge, despite the fact that Surge is alive and physically no worse off than before. You've gotta admit, that's kinda petty.
Plus, it's clear Surge wants answers about her past more than revenge at this point. Heck! She seems to be concerned with better living conditions than revenge at this point!
Kit and Surge are in this together; their bond may have been forced on them, but it's real now.
@@videogollumer Surge may want answers to her past, but one of her top priorities is to get revenge on everyone who was responsible for what happened to her and Kit, meaning she WILL still try to kill Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy, and everyone that Sonic loves, and will do the same for Eggman, since he’s all part of the reason that she and Kit were captured in the first place, to be his and Starlines own personal Evil Sonic and Tails duo.
While Surge and Kit may have a strong bond, They have both proven that the main thing that brought them together, and what keeps them together besides being close Allies is that they want nothing more than to end Sonic and Tails for good.
And for all we know, Clutch is just lying about having the information that Surge wants, meaning he’s just manipulating her and Kit to take down Restoration, which also means that their pretty much isn’t a single person on the planet who knows who Surge and Kit were before they were kidnapped. So if they don’t have a past, then their gonna make sure that Sonic and his friends, along with Eggman and his minions, do NOT have a future.
No matter what happens throughout the entirety of the IDW story, Surge and Kit will never change, and they will only stop either when Sonic and his friends destroy them, or they destroy Sonic and his friends.

well, it's good to see that Silver hasn't been kicked out and Whisper hasn't actually lost faith in herself and become indecisive since issue 64, though they still need to get back on Mimic's trail
This is a interesting new issue, I like it so far. Yes Surge it's a habit, remember Shadow? Well there's also Blaze and Silver.

Dude, this is insane. I can't wait to see how this arc turns out.
I have a feeling that this is the end of the restoration. This could lead to extreme chaos since the restoration is the closest to a police force in the comic meaning criminals would run amok if it was destroyed.
Even if it survives I could see a massive exodus of people leaving and losing faith on it since Jewel and Amy had trusted the bad guys and in everyone's eyes Lanolin protected a spy against people who were right about it.
So either way the restoration is screwed
weather or not the Restoration is destroyed, and i prefer the not out of optimism, Clean Sweep better go down too
also i doubt they'll be angry at amy since she at least wasn't fully convinced. who knows, maybe Surge and kit will actually reform, thanks to Sonic, rebel against Clutch and that could prevent the restoration AND it's reputation from being destroyed

I can see that. Especially with the whole "benevolent businessman secretly a criminal kingpin" theme they both have. That said, I can't help but wonder how this'll blow up in Clutch's face.
Yeah Sonics not buying it hes up to something hes not as easy to fool as Silver He either convinces Surge and Kit to redeam and turn on Mimic and Clutch or expose them with mind games.
well, at the very least, Whisper's not buying it either, which is somewhat validated since Surge and Kit aren't being honest, and at least there's no scene where she's downtrodden with guilt about her 'mistake' in issue 64...in THIS issue anyway. too bad Surge and Kit and diverting attention from Mimic

As two science experiments I'd like to see Shadow interact with Surge and Kit. Doubt he'd have any comforting words for them but he might encourage the two carving there own paths separate from any group.

probably a five issue story arc after season 68, story titled the protector. it's probably Diamond Cutter focused on one side, with Whisper and Tangle beginning to question Lanolin's bossy attitude and actions in issue 64, even if they seemed right, and lanolin at first getting to a tipping point and then starting to feel guilty about how she herself handled things in issue 64 and realise that she herself has become the root of the tension between the diamond cutters, and then Mimic revealling himself will be what REALLY makes her realise that her own faults were believing a stranger over veterans and defending the REAL guilty party. she may redeem herself by being the one to actually finish off Mimic, after Whisper (and maybe Silver) engages him in a fight and beats him at his own game, making his defeat humiliating, and then the Sheep may learn (perhaps mostly, depends on how the writers will write this) that friendship is what matters above all else. the Diamond Cutters story arc has been my main concern since issue 64, so I have no theories on the other heroes

I suppose Whisper forgot because she was partially driven by her hatred of Mimic or she just forgot over time. Maybe sometime in the future, she'll decided to talk to Tangle about it, Tangle remembers that Whisper wore her mask and decide to check and sees the proof, thereby giving Whisper back her self-trust, though she hasn't fully lost it, given her distrust of Surge, and make her realise that she HAD proof all along, providing that the writers come up with that idea.

On issue #64, when lanolin asked Whisper for proof that Duo is not what he seems, he didn’t show her the damn video mask as proof that Duo is sabotaging Lanolin’s own team! Poor Silver doesn’t deserve to be treated unfairly because of Duo aka Mimic the octopus! I really hate that Octopus! I hate him! I hate him! I HATE HIM! Hate! Hate! Hate! HAAAAATTTEEE!
okay, now you're starting to go all Sonic SATam Robotnik. and while Whisper should've shown Lanolin the mask, Lanolin should've listen to Whisper regardless and looked at their side of the story, meaning Silver would not have felt the need to make a move on Duo
I feel like surge will have that "I accidently liked the people I was betraying" thing happend cause I know the comic wants another shard on situations on their hands and their gonna use surge for something like that
Do you know what I realise: Surge and Kit want to see the world burn, just like the Deadly Six. If Clutch and Mimic betray them, I can see Surge and Kit working with the Deadly Six seeing as they have the same goals and as seen in the IDW comics: Anyone who is with Zavok, either respects him or Fears him.
They're past that; Surge legit wants to know her past now, and Kit just wants revenge on Sonic for, seemingly, trying to kill his best friend, Surge, by killing HIS best friend, Tails.

@@videogollumer Definitely True. Fair argument. Switching from the topic, how do you think the Restoration Plot will end. I think Mimic is probably going to betray Surge and Kit because he literally betrayed his other teammates: the OG diamond cutters and the Bad Guy Team ( Zavok, Rough & Tumble, Starline). His whole shtick is betraying other teams so he can be safe.
@@skyscrapermadness_0904 You have it on the nose. Frankly, I think he's just plain incapable of ending an alliance without backstabbing. I'm just hoping he dies already! Whisper will never be able to grow as a character until she's free from the looming shadow of that sadistic cephalopod, which will only happen when he's dead! It's possible that he will, as Surge and/or Kit may kill him for trying to get them killed. Perhaps then Whisper can bring herself to ease off Surge. I certainly won't hold it against anyone who kills that bastapus!

They better give up their lives as villains in this story arc. Keeping them evil after all they went through would just be petty and insulting.

As much as I love all the cloak and dagger stuff the bad guys are doing, I do wonder if it would have been more effective if they didn't reveal to us readers what they were up to. That it might have had more impact if their eventual turn was just as much of a surprise to us as it will be to the other characters 🤔
so surge is like a second shadow?an enemy that was a clone of sonic that turned good at the end of the arc.

Belle REALLY needs to stop being such a whiny baby. It's bad enough that she sold out Sonic and Tails' lives to Metal Sonic by fixing him, possibly sold out the Restoration to Eggman by telling him that she interfaced with Metal directly, regrets neither, and has done NOTHING to make up for it; her being an annoying whiny baby ever since then isn't helping her character in the LEAST bit.

Does everything just gloss over the fact that DR STARLINE IS DEAD!!!!! 💀 He was the biggest OG IDW villain in Sonic. He was the one who brought Eggman back, he brought the Deadly Six to the planet, he nearly doomed everyone by not sharing the Warp Topaz and almost dipping with it, He kidnapped and put Surge and Kit through HELL AND PAIN! He kidnapped belle and tried to kidnap and kill Rouge and Tails. Everyone hates him! When they got news he was dead, they should have made it a big deal. Everyone should be celebrating, even the villains who hated him should be happy, Even Eggman was pleased that he played a big part in offing him.
Correction, Metal Sonic brought Eggman back; it was Mr. Tinker laying a hand on Metal Sonic that caused Eggman's personality to resurface.

@@videogollumer I know that, but Starline did play a big part. While Metal Sonic was the trigger, he never would have found Eggman since it was Starline who took Eggman to his base. It was a joint effort by both.

Had Sonic never had him reactivated, he might have been able to save Mr. Tinker; and Mr. Tinker, then aware of his crimes as Eggman and feeling remorse, could have returned to Windmill Village truly a better person. But no! Sonic had to think Metal Sonic had potential for good! Well, at least he has learned not to make that mistake with Dr. Eggmurder and Metal Soulless ever again. They're evil through and through.
@@videogollumer- have Starline never existed they wouldn’t have met this soon and Metal had no idea where to look for him. Basically it was bad timing for everyone that brought back Eggman who for 6 months had no incident but still showed he still had bits of Eggman in him.

Hm, okay, a few things to unpack here.
First: I initially thought that once Surge would awake up after what happened, she was going to go straight back to plotting another scheme or something, but I guess Surge and Kit has just been chilling out at, what I guess counts as, their old home this entire time and just trying to figure out what to do with themselves, granted I had a feeling that could’ve been the case too, but I didn’t really know how else they could’ve been reintroduced.
Second: i thought Clutch fired the Skunk Brothers and Based on that little short flashback Clutch had about doing a meeting with Jewel, i would assume then that that particular meeting with Surge and Kit happened after him firing them, so i guess he rehired them? Huh, I guess Sonic isn’t the only who’s keen on Second Chances.
Third: and most of all, it appears that Surge and Kit’s sudden appearance really were due to them joining Clutch in his schemes, but due to more sympathetic reasons than I was expecting, it seems like they still would very much like to know more about their past, so in that sense it’s understandable why they went along with it, the Question is still though:
Will including them, really go as well as Clutch seem to think or will it backfire as maybe his worst blunder in his life?
Anyway, on another note on that, I do find it really interesting, that their little flashback at beginning of the Issue, started off with them pretty much complaining about their living condition, I can’t help but to think that tiny detail could be important later on,
Though, I have been saying they, but it’s mostly, if not only, been Surge who has been doing the complaining and the one who showed any interest in what Clutch could potentially know about them, among other things, while Kit has really just been moving along, which is pretty much the usual for I guess, but still we haven’t gotten anything about his opinions throughout this , with the exception that he apparently has it out for Tails now, I guess we’ll see how that pans out.
By the way, I didn’t think much of it initially, but after some thought, does anyone else feel like that Surge seems a little too …hm, mellow(?) in comparison to last time we saw her? I mean, she was such a ball of emotions before, had problem whatsoever with showing all the hatred and aggression she had, but now it feels like all of that has just vanished, now the reason why I am pointing this out, is not necessarily because of the hatred she had, but due to how she got it,
She was conditioned, practically programmed into her to hate and destroy Sonic and I feel like something like that probably is at least a little harder to get over than just a genuine hatred, so seeing her now, seemingly being so relaxed, especially while the guy who was the target of her hate being right next to her, i can’t help but to wonder, why?
Speaking of which, on top of that, with another thing i didn’t think much of initially, around the moment when Clutch revealed that he might know something about Surge and Kitsunami, Surge apparently seemed to realize that before he said anything and when she did, she looked behind her for some reason, now that could potentially not mean anything, but still why would realizing that there’s someone who might know something, make her look over her shoulder? Once again, I can’t help but to wonder, why?
Well, regardless, I guess we’ll find out in the coming Issues, it’s going to be very interesting to see how this Arc will play out from here,
but in the meantime, what is any of yours’ current Theories so far about how this Arc might play out? I would like to know.

surge is pretty mellow here but that’s probably because she’s street smart unlike kit’s smart-smart. She knows how to handle a situation with people while kit just follows her lead as programmed which is why kit just says nothing and just remains in an angered blank slate. Seeing how knowing their past is their ultimate goal, even against their antihero ideals, I think surge being calm makes sense considering the desperation she has. Kit being like he always has been is a little odd though imo considering the speech he gave the last time we saw him… I thought he’d have some development in the independence department.

Also, what about Kit’s speech seemed to have anything to do with independence?

‘Cause last time I checked, I am pretty sure that nothing really happened to him, that would push him to be more independent.
I guess, regards to Surge's emotions, it's all about control. She still has her motives to hate Sonic, but not in a way that gets her uncovered.

Random question, but does anyone else think that the Diamond Cutters having to house Surge and Kit is karma for what happened to Silver?
well, just Lanolin actually, for obvious reasons. sure, Tangle and Whisper voted against Silver, but they were both reluctant; Tangle because she was outvoted and was given the death glare by Lanolin, and Whisper out of guilt for believing she had 'misguided' Silver and at least was more softer and apologised. but I for one Lanolin becomes more likable after Mimic, Surge and Kit are exposed as frauds and get their just desserts, well, Mimic to the greatest extent.
Nope, Mimic revealing himself will be karma for that buttheaded sheep for being an idiot.
1. All the people who thought Surge and Kit wouldn’t team up with Clutch or Mimic are eating their words right now. I thought they wouldn’t team up with anyone as well, but when someone offers you the secrets of your origins AND another crack at your least favorite people, I can understand why they would be willing to follow.
2. No surprise Whisper doesn’t want Surge here. I’m interested to see if she’ll take up Surge’s offer to shoot her in the back of the head, but I really don’t want her to take any drastic actions.
3. I cannot believe IDW is going to put this story on hold when it’s just getting started for some mini-series that has no impact on the main plot, or even takes place in the same universe.
Honestly I like that they are taking a few months break. The last few arcs havent been very good, and I hope they take some of the time to make a good planing of this new saga
I for one wouldn't entirely say that. i for one think Urban warfare was a great arc, with all the characters that appeared, the epic battles and how each character played a part in defeatign eggman. my only concern was when Whisper and Lanolin were trapped in the spatial displacement traps. luckily it didn't drag long.

Sonic finally stopped giving so much leeway to a certain Deviled Egg and his soulless killing machine, Tangle grew exponentially as a character, Shadow finally got a moment to shine, Whisper got to clobber Eggman, and Eggman himself valued his abominable Eggperial City so much that he is now officially out of ideas.

We've only seen him once in the main comic since then and it was on a computer screen. 900th Adventure and Winter Jam can't really count because the time frame for them is too ambiguous. Naturally, he'll be back; but knowing he's been set back so hard will give the world ample time to prepare for it.

Its a good issue but its sad I already know how this will turn out. Its a damn shame but I do appreciate that Surge and Kit are just twisted and toxic versions of Sonic and Tails and there will be no positive end for the two. Damn shame but I do respect it because the Sonic series needs more villains and the tragic, self-prophesied victim is a good way to go about it I suppose.

How long are Surge and Kit going to allow themselves to be used by others. They reject the only genuine hand that will allow them to start over but accepts the hand that will end with them getting used
I've seen this setup a million times. They're sent by a villain to infiltrate the heroes' ranks, but they grow a close bond with the heroes, abandon their evil ways and help stop the villain. I've seen this setup a million times.
That genuine hand betrayed their trust through rash assumption and displays of caring more about the scum of his world than the people who fall victim to them. Sonic may have learned better since then, but he's far from done dealing with the consequences of his actions.

He realized he was wrong to be overly lenient on dastards like Eggman, Metal Sonic, and Starline after he found out what Starline did to Surge and Kit just to impress Eggman AND that Eggman actually DID find Starline brilliant but was just to proud to have ever been WILLING to tell Starline himself and only admitting it now that he outwitted Starline.
Mecha Sonic, however, DID take Sonic's words to heart.
Both combined prove that Sonic has his head in the right again. SOME villains deserve a chance to change, but not all.
Interestingly enough, the all of the villains in Sonic and friends age range (Surge, Kit, and the Skunk Brothers) actually HAVE redeeming qualities, while all of the age 21+ villains (Eggman, Starline, Mimic, and Clutch) are all utter scumbags!
The Deadly Six's ages don't matter since they are demons, evil by nature.
As far as robots go, Orbot and Cubot have potential, but they're too spineless to rebel against Eggman. As for Metal Sonic, no! He is a manifestation of Eggman's hatred for Sonic in robot form; Metal Sonic is practically a ROBOTIC demon.
Well, I'm not exactly surprised this was the outcome of Surge's choice, let's just see where it goes from here.

At this point when Surge and kit strike at Clutch’s word, I feel like Surge will do something so unforgivable that not even sonic is going to let it slide. He may honestly even lash out with his full power. He already gave Eggman a chance when he lost his memories and became mr Tinker, only to be brought back by Starline, and that resulted in the Metal Virus. It Surge or Clutch do something worse than all that, than there’s no telling how sonic will react. And it won’t end well for either of them.
Surge deserves more chances than Eggman will ever get in his entire life!
@@videogollumer I feel like everyone, including sonic is going to be a lot more careful on who they give second or more chances to. Again, Sonic gave both Eggman, and Metal Sonic second chances after Metal took over Angel Island, and Eggman regained his memories and created the Metal Virus. Both times he gave second chances to, it backfired and it caused near chaos and destruction on a global scale. Their are people who deserve second chances, and people who don’t.
Surge has made it perfectly clear that she doesn’t even care who she has to get through to get what she wants. She may honestly let loose on everyone of Sonic’s friends. Tails, Knuckles, Amy, Rouge, she may honestly even go ahead and attack Cream if she feels like it.
If she does actually go all out and rip through anyone, almost to the point of nearly killing them, than Sonic may honestly put his second chances option aside, because he will realize that Surge doesn’t care about changing her. He may honestly just use more power than he’s ever used on anyone like Infinite, Eggman, or Zavok, and he will make sure she remembers what happens when someone hurts his friends. She’s said that her life will have no peace unless Sonic, his friends, and everything he cares about is gone.
Imo I don't know if I could deal with kit. I ain't the kinda guy to deal with brooding and being moody 24/7 he has his moments but golly

Also, right after Sonic suggested the tour, Amy whispered to Sonic "To keep an eye on them?"; and Sonic whispered back "Oh, you bet'cha.". THAT indicates that they are NOT without suspicion! Is it just me or is clutch forming the sinister six(clutch, surge, kit, rough, tumble, and mimic)?
He seems like more of the type of guy who wouldn't actually be a member of his own Sinister Six and instead be the brains behind them, like Kingpin in Spider-Man '94 and Doc Ock as the Master Planner in Spectacular Spider-Man.
Why does Kit wanna go after Tails?
He believes Sonic tried to kill his best friend, Surge, so that he could take her place; now Kit wants revenge on Sonic, by killing HIS best friend, Tails. That's my analysis, anyway.
