An African American spiritual originally published in 1867 as "That Good Old Way," it became a Christian hymn recorded by artists as diverse as Doc Watson, Leadbelly, and Arlo Guthrie. Thanks Craig and Harri.
Her voice is unmatched today. I've loved Alison music for several years now. I've seen her twice with Robert Plant. Both shows were excellent. Now that she's going to tour with Union Station again next year, I'm hoping to see her again. Absolutely adore this lady and her beautiful voice.
One of the songs used in O Brother Where Art Thou? movie. Saw her and all the original artists from the movie in concert DOWN FROM THE MOUNTAIN TOUR. Sold out show 16000 in Toronto. In 2001 The Whites performed at my work for staff. Wonderful weird to see these songs performed from only 10 feet away. Keep on the sunny side of life.
Great song 🎵 Craig and Harri. Love this since I heard it in the movie. I recently got baptized and saved from the wreckage f a life I had created myself. Been sober 8 months, and feelin stronger everyday. Ty again, this hits home and rings true. Slainte Harri and Besties ☘️🇺🇲
My husband and I, who are not religious, watched O Brother Where Art thou, and bought the DVD and CD. The music is simply beautiful. Allison is a great singer.
Alison has 37 Grammys. Her most beautiful song is "River In The Rain" written by Roger Miller for his 5 Tony award winning broadway musical "Big River."
I hope you'll check out their song "Choctaw Hayride," composed by their dobro player Jerry Douglas. Great example of bluegrass, and with each member doing his/her thing.
@@ffrederickskitty4607 Yep. He's one of my favorite musicians. And a little trivia...He chose the "claw style" by watching the old-timer Roy Acuff sidekick, "Brother Oswald" (real name Beecher Kirby)--my mother's next door neighbor in Tennessee 100 years ago.
I'm not a member of any organized religion, but I'm very spiritual. And yet I love Southern Gospel music, it's some of the most beautiful music in the world. And this is just right up my alley, just beautiful, and I love Allison Krause. It won't be my first Allison Krause song on my phone as I already have *_You Don't Know Me._* She is just amazing. Elvis's backup singers are a gospel quartet with a fifth bass singer and I have a few of their own recordings. I highly recommend taking a listen to *J.D. Sumner & The Stamps Quartet's* recording of *_(There Will Be) Peace In The Valley._* Regardless of your religious persuasion, it's impossible to not be moved by the lyrics combined with their genuine and passionate performance. I think I'll say that's an official request for Harri to do a video on!
Believe it or not, this studio version pales in comparison to the version on Alison Krauss and Union Station Live. It was recorded in the Louisville Palace; which has incredible acoustics.
You must be BORN AGAIN and sealed (baptised) with the HOLY SPIRIT to enter eternal heaven. Water baptism is nothing. I was saved 40 years ago this week; in hotel room --by calling out to save me. You have to ASK JESUS ; do this now!! JOHN 3.3
Religion is a word; SALVATION is the ONLY DECISION you make in this life that is eternal. (JOHN 3.3)-'Jesus said "unless a man is BORN AGAIN he cannot see the kingdom of God.' But you have to ask HIM for salvation; then the HOLY SPIRIT seals you for heaven. I was saved 40 years ago; age 31 in hotel room. ASK HIM NOW!!!!!

You’re welcome!
I see a couple of people have already mentioned O Brother Where Art Thou? Great movie, awesome soundtrack, pretty sure you'd enjoy both.

Rejoicing in your salvation, and praying for God’s direction in your life!

Alison has 37 Grammys.
Her most beautiful song is "River In The Rain" written by Roger Miller for his 5 Tony award winning broadway musical "Big River."
At a family reunion some years back in the East Tennessee mountains we rented a chapel to have our Sunday service and this was the final song we sang.
Such s pretty song and Allison's vocals are perfect for this particular song. Great reaction Harri
Scarlet Tide is a beautiful haunting song by Allison. It's from the movie Cold Mountain.
Craig, I am a big follower of Alison Krauss and this submission choice was outstanding. Very well done by both you and Harri.
I hope you'll check out their song "Choctaw Hayride," composed by their dobro player Jerry Douglas. Great example of bluegrass, and with each member doing his/her thing.
Jerry Douglas is a dobro monster.
Some of best work was recorded in the Trans Atlantic Sessions.

It "has a spiritual thing about it", indeed.😎
Thank you Harri, I love this song. Blessings to you and your family and happy Christmas.

Delmer's baptism
I listened to this over and over from the sound track.
Grandma used to sing this ❤
Try Al Green - Take Me To the River (1974), also covered by Talking Heads in 1978, a great rework.
Bless you, Sir.
Allison together with gillian welch, to whom you have reacted as well.
A worldwide revival would be nice.
Do not seek the treasure
