Aye, love the video. Don’t change and keep it up! Those Firestone guys really don’t know how to fix cars. They’re UA-cam Mechanics who are trying to live off of flat rate lol.
Why didn't you put in adjustable upper arms from Corksport or the like? Front camber also chews tires on these things when lowered. Mine has the adjustable ball joint, but it isn't enough.
I didn’t realize, or I would have, I was mostly concerned with the lower suspension and ball joints being shot. 10k later and the tires are wearing great so far!
To further beat this topic, on the alignment rack I loosened the LCA, pried it with a large pry bar, and tightened it back up to get close to spec, the adjustable uppers your talking about are the way to go as it’s still not perfect
Man this video just pissed me off from start to finish. I hope you've learned since this video. As someone who's done this for 17 years, there was a lot of wrong things here. Never let calipers hang by the hose. Never let knuckles fall onto the ground. Don't buy cheap parts store wheel bearings. Always replace the hub too, especially when you said it was junk. Yet you still used the junk one. Always use a proper torque wrench when torquing wheel bearings. That's the number ONE cause of them failing is people just running the axle nuts down with an impact. That's wrong. Go check out South Main Auto on UA-cam. You'll learn a lot of good things, as I have from watching him for years. The knuckles were not bad. The hubs were. Stop wasting money on junk parts and unnecessary shit. Firestone techs around here would put you to shame.
That rear shock is a mofo, you have to take the shock with the bracket out. And no you can’t get any tool you would like in there. And I overruled the front and rear in the driveway…
dude. totally unnecessary loosening the front subframe bolts. also the shock only needs to be compressed with a jack for the coils to move out of the way for the upper control arm bolts. u tube that shit before you do it!!
@@reanimationxp upper control arms. As you compress the coils with a Secondary jack fhe clearance reveals itself! Lower control arms you totally need to loosen the subframe

Thanks man! I definitely feel like it’s becoming more natural

Good vid! Unfortunately you just made me pull the trigger on a new shop press. 🙂
damn I love that shop, it's got pretty much everything needed, I want that
Same man, I miss it
Thank you for such a great documentation of the process. I was about to do this and I'm second guessing it now.. lol

Change is inevitable through growth. That being said, I’ve been the same idiot my whole life, so that won’t go anywhere 😂

Thought about doing this job myself ….. that’s not gonna happen
If I recall correctly you have to support the rear portion of the wheel bearing when pressing in the hub..had a similar issue with vehicle once
I had a socket to push on the inner bearing race, it had all the support in needed
@@steinfabgarage oh ok 👍🏾
How is it possible that everybolt on suspension is not rusted?

What brand parts did you get and from where? Need to replace pretty much all suspension parts front and rear on my speed 6.
Hello friends, I wanted to know if the rear differential of the Mazdaspeed6 is compatible with that of the Mazda CX7?
Wait so are those sleeves you put in the hub assembly from the old control arms are in correctly or not?

What wheel spec/sizes is on the 6 here?
Tbh I have no clue. But there too low offset. There pretty wide like 9+ and there 18s
And that's why I just plan to replace the knuckle and the hub too.
Strut fork though... anybody got ideas?
Where did you bought the kit? Awesome video btw
eBay. It’s from Detroit Axle
Thanks for the video Salt Bae
Love the vid bro
