I had the pleasure of meeting High on Fire when my old band opening for them when they played New Zealand. They were the nicest guys no rockstar attitude just good fucking guys.

Saw this video randomly on mtv years ago. I was blown away and felt like i was a 13 year old kid again when i first discovered slayer and metallica in the early 80's. I googled them and found out they were playing a week later in Reno 20 miles from me in Tahoe. So high on HOF ever since. First time i saw them i sat at a bar with my broken leg with Matt literaly 2 feet from my face playing like the animal he is. Thanks for creating the trio and sound I've been waiting for for so long!!!!!!!!!

High on Fire kills every time. Seen them like 9 years ago at the Mermaid Bar in Brooklyn in front of like 150 people. Wall to wall packed. The blew the roof off the place. Seen them a few days ago with Mastodon in NYC and they delivered as always. They definitely shouldn't have been the opening act!

High On Fire doesn't need to change a goddamn thing, I could hear another 50 albums with the same brutal formula and I'd be a happy camper. Pike has nothing to prove, nor does he need to. Sleep was one of my favorite bands, and not HoF. Hail!

the drums are like some road warrior era engine. an apocalyptic juggernaut heard from miles away.
If you had to put them in a genre of some fashion, I would say they are very much a doom/stoner metal kind of sound. Sludge/Grunge too, possibly. However, all I think that matters is this; they are amazing and defy categorization.
