Peter Hook. I would love to see you back with the rest of the New Order band members. I miss you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Please guys. Get it back together. Life is too short.
They're literally OAP's now, just be thankful that they gave us nearly 4 decades of music. You can't really expect more than that. I can't imagine them making any more classics even if they got back together, it would just be a pale imitation of their prime years.
I can listen to this song over and over and over for hours on end...I know drug addicts and feel their pain and loss...they have a hard time opening up about their life and what drugs have done to them....their struggle goes on daily.....so sad..but they don't want pity just release from the deadly grip drugs have on them...
the great thing about music is that you just opened yourself up to potentially millions of people... i'm standing here thinking that everything you said is awesome and cool. I hope you are still happy and killing it and listening to this version!
Almost 70 years old my generation the GREATEST music ever...true artists...wrote songs, played instruments, and actually said something with their lyrics.....not todays tripe....geez I can sing someone elses song..and sing the same words over and over...WHAT TALENT....Dire Straits, the Smiths, Cars, pink Floyd, depeche mode, ultravox, pet shop boys, berlin, joy division, but I admit I'd do Lady Gaga
Ian was brilliant, but if he hadn’t have died there wouldn’t be new order, and Bernard wouldn’t be the singer and this song wouldn’t have been made. They would have remained joy division and Ian would have been the singer.......look at it like that and none of the songs by new order would have ever been made. I doubt joy division with Ian as the lead would have written “true faith” or “blue Monday” even if they had have wrote those songs I can’t imagine ian Curtis singing them can you??
A marriage that fell apart. The music is there legacy.I for one, will be happy to watch NO and Hooky/light separately until otherwise. Thanks for the tunes.
Saw Hook/Light play at the Exit In (in) Nashville earlier this year. It was a wonderful experience. They played for over 3 hrs. Played both JD albums in full. And used NO songs to open and close the show. Just awesome. If you get a chance to see them, please go. Well worth it. Cheers
That psycho Magnotta choose this song as background for his snuff video. Weirdest thing is, i can understand why. It is so happy and sad, and angry and beautiful all at the same time.
@SouthsideofGlasgow New Order wasn't active in the past 5 years or so, after Peter Hook left. Now they're going to do two benefit gigs in October, this time without Peter Hook, but with Gillian Gilbert, who is still together with Stephen, as far as I know.
I saw New Order on their very first tour...............and I mean VERY FIRST tour, post Joy Division. They played at "Jenkinsons" in Brighton in early 1981. Peter Hook was doing vocals then, in his plaintive schoolboy voice. There was no electronics or samplers. When they hit the opening chords I cried.....
I'm looking for the original version where Sumner sings "Very small boys did drugs with me. "There's also one performance where he sings about Michael Jackson.
Woah, settle down there, Bernie :) Actually, the screams were cute :) And Stephen is looking hella HOT ;) This was such a wonderful performance. Every song they did at this concert was so good. I loved that Hooky made a sweet comment toward Ian in "Ceremony". And they kicked ass with "She's Lost Control". I like it better when Bernie sings that way. Too bad Bernie & Hooky couldn't work out their differences :'(
They know they had what they wanted, success. They're now just having fun in what they do and I love it! Look at Hook just sitting and put his pants up!
@SouthsideofGlasgow As far as I know the band officially split in the beginning of 2007. There was a gig in Glasgow in 2006, released in 2008, maybe you're referring to that one or I've missed something. Anyway, those are details. Like you're saying, great news with the October gigs! :)
Peter Hook. I would love to see you back with the rest of the New Order band members. I miss you soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. Please guys. Get it back together. Life is too short.
Life is short but their angry, seemingly, is too huge for this dream can true...

Switzerland 19 points 😊
I am just really surprised to see Peter sing on this. i thought he hated this song!!
This sounds more like Rock than New Wave, we neeed to go back to 1987 with the same analog instruments that made this song a classic!
Wow, Bernard sings way better now than he did in the early years. Amazing.
I can listen to this song over and over and over for hours on end...I know drug addicts and feel their pain and loss...they have a hard time opening up about their life and what drugs have done to them....their struggle goes on daily.....so sad..but they don't want pity just release from the deadly grip drugs have on them...

Correction: the deadly grip this society has on us.
One of their best songs at one of their best gigs, 6 mins of heaven
its amazing that they could pull this song off live and make it sound so good. a totally different arrangement though - the video is so clear! 5 stars
Hook checking the keyboard players prostate at the 0.59 mark. Who said he doesn't care?
Dambo6 6 I bet he liked it

67 here, i'm hearing ya.
If you listen some of the things from Monaco, you understand that Hook was a big creative part of New Order.
Hooky and Barney were on the booze 😂 They should’ve kept Dawn as a full band member she really improved their sound
I like the singer playing guitar and also his voice..good job!
Instant classic!
PS: 3:56 → 4:11 Eurodance early 90's :-)
Bernard and Hooky together are New Order and the Joy Division legacy. They can do whatever they want, but they are responsible and in charge.
I love when his sings the original lyrics. It’s a shame they changed it on the record.
Another superb LIVE performance of my favorite song of this band.
+EuroDisco ItaloDisco
Absolutely agree with you my friend. A true classic from a timeless band!!! Would love to see them come to NZ.
TRUE LEGENDS
JOYS DIVISION RULEZ
WE MISS YOU IAN

I saw New Order on their very first tour...............and I mean VERY FIRST tour, post Joy Division. They played at "Jenkinsons" in Brighton in early 1981. I hear you! Every bit of my body is hearing it... and all my memories of hearing it-one big beautiful vibration.

Bernard at the end with his speech was like watching David Brent do a talk.
I'm looking for the original version where Sumner sings "Very small boys did drugs with me. "There's also one performance where he sings about Michael Jackson.
I truly can't think of a song that I have ever loved more.
Me siento extraordinario con está cuarentena en el mundo.
Canciones para toda la vida. Estos si eran grupos de música de verdad...

I ❤️ New Order with Hooky
They know they had what they wanted, success. They're now just having fun in what they do and I love it! Look at Hook just sitting and put his pants up!
Amazing !!! 🥰
I fucking love this version much more than the original one.
This song is fabulous on it's own and needs no background singers!
She does do a good job though.

He's the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)
Fabuleux groupe ! Somptueux morceau en live !!!
And in a few more years it would become Peter Hook vs New Order. That one still hurts when watching this.

After Barney made a remark about Hooky turning down the bass, Hooky looked like he was about to tell Barney to shut up.

New Order...... U R the motherfuckin best ever in da woooorld :) This is what i think faraway from Finland. And this isnt first time :)

@suzban600 I believe that her name is Dawn Zee. She sings backing vocals on a few of their songs.
Yesssss!!
