FWIW - I have used fine steel wool on my car windshield for years and it works great on dive masks as well. Don't worry it can't scratch the glass....but don't use it on plastic lens.
My father was named Poseidon, on kelpies he came a riding. So if you're looking for me, it's no mystery - in the sea I'll be presiding. Great tip! I'll definitely try burning-in the lenses on my next new mask.
I also defog my masks with a lighter, but tbh I don't think that's the silicone melting away lol When you heat up the glass with a lighter, the edges of the glass, the part of the glass that the flame isn't touching, is warming up and because of that it fogs up. Then when the flame hits the fogged up area it warms up the glass and it dries it up. So, I think this is what's happening visually when you use a lighter :) You can try doing it later on, on a mask that you've already cleaned with a lighter and this will happen again and again.
hi tnx for sharing....pls can you tell me exact name of first mask for spear fishing (green colour) I like that mask very much. i use aqualung impression but woul like to finde that one from your video. Regards from cote d'azur :-)
www.deeperblue.com/salvimar-masks-concentration-technology/ Here is another good review on the Salvimar Noah mask... I obviously just got it in green, but honestly its a wicked mask and you won't be disappointed. My Mares viper is still fogging up and although it will make you look like a comic book super hero, its got a very narrow field of view. The Noah is awesome!
Hey Amigo I have two new Viper masks and I love them ! Epic masks. These new ones I have put the lighter to them a couple of times and soaped them up and put some de fog liquid, but I am still having this fogging issue. Cant figure it out.. Maybe you know a secret ..LOL thanks man
That's because there is no layer of silicon to burn off, and even if there was, the condensation is due to the temperature difference of your face and the water, that's why you need antifog anyways, even after burning the lenses. I have never used anything but spit in my mask, i rub the spit vigorously and then i rinse it out just enough to remove most of it, so that the inside of the lenses are covered by a thin layer of saliva, and my mask is always 100% fog free, no lighter, no antifog, no soap, no toothpaste, never used any of that ever. I hope this helps, have fun diving!
The son of Poseidon lurks in the kelp , and waits for a victim who's looking for help. Out he creeps and takes their feet, down into the murky deep, And oh arise their muted screams, as he pulls at their wetsuit seams. When he's well and truly done, He comes out for another one!
NO!!!!NO!!!!NO!!!!NO!!!!NO!!!!NO!!!!!!!! Please don't do that. I know theres a couple of freediving masks that uses acrylic lenses... and NO you do not want to ruin them with a flame. I've used a acrylic Aqualung mask before. Nice revolutionary low profile shape when they came out . I think it was the first mask I saw with the spherical acrylic lenses, but I was very exited about trying them out but I couldn't get on with it... the spherical lenses creates a weird distortion and warps your vision, was making me nauseous under water...

Hello! When i dive i hear something like piiii what is that?
Såsndks Try equalising soon
you need to equalize by blowing air in your nose while pinching it, do this every meter of your descend.
Hi guys thanks for the video its great can you tell me the model of the snorkel please ???
Hi Robin, its just a generic snorkel, pick them up for buttons anywhere!
can the Mares Viper mask be used for scuba aswell ?
The Porky Pilot Show Yes sir. Any mask can be used in any sitiuation.
Miguel Nogueira thats not always true some masks can distort your vision and make you natuiose as you scuba dive
