Maybe if it's a dark satirical comedy, like we see a washed-up Captain Planet that's completely disillusioned with the state of the world today, trying to cope over his failure to protect the planet with booze, planeteers left him etc
If Captain Planet was a psycho environmentalist like Poison Ivy, then maybe it could work. But there's other 80s & 90s cartoon properties I'd rather see R-Rated first. A Game of Thrones-esque He-Man would be interesting. WildC.A.Ts, Swat Kats, Pirates of Dark Water, Gargoyles, EXO Squad, & Aeon Flux are far better contenders for an R-Rating.
Well, if you want a Robot Chicken skit stretched as a feature-length movie, I guess it could work. Though nothing could top that Don Cheadle Captain Planet parody video.
I suppose weirder things have happened. That Winnie the Pooh horror not only got a sequel and it’s becoming a cinematic universe called the Poohniverse. They have phase one for this Poohniverse which includes Peter Pan, Pinocchio, and Bambi.
Ngl, I had a love-hate thing with captain planet. I liked the idea of a superhero, but I hated how easily he could be weakened by literal trash. At that point, I was like I feel like I can beat captain planets ass.
You've got a point, climate change has become such a larger issue that CAPTAIN PLANET's point of existing is kind of moot. Plus the show never had any great lore or characters to hold onto, it's largely loved just for nostalgia purposes these days.
Maybe I'm misremembering stuff but I never understood folks dissing the power of heart cuz I always took it as being able to heal, communicate with and potentially recruit other life forms mainly animals for your mission and I'm like "how was that lame?" Also yes they mentioned it a little bit but the real reason we can't get a Captain Planet anything now is because we know who the real enemies of pollution are and this would basically just be an antifa propaganda film and I don't think Hollywood is willing to do that, anyone who thinks they are willing to do that has a naive and or warped view of politics, Hollywood is not as left-wing as y'all think it is
oh yeah, I just remembered, OK KO even had a Captain Planet episode. And i think even in that episode Captain Planet acknowledged things with the environment are way too close to the point of no return that even he couldn't make a difference.
“Instead of complaining about how you want R Rated superhero movies because you’re an adult, then why don’t you watch movies that are made for adults?” -Patrick (H) Willems, 2020
I dare someone to do this! Instead of fucking trash weakening him, make him angry. The more you pollute, the more he becomes the hulk. The more power, the more humans he kills. He becomes Ra's al Ghul!!!
🌎100th comment and Kory actually Tom Cruise was originally the voice of Captain Planet but bowed out after the first 7 episodes. His voiced was redubbed by another actor. Rumor is he wanted more creative control?! Also the theme song sounds allot like Step By Step By New Kids On the Block?!🌎🧑🎤🦸♂🕺
Sal from ComicPop already has a great pitch for a live-action Captain Planet! It would open with a mission where Matee dies, and then they time skip a few years, and the planeteers to summon Captain Planet, but since Mateee (the heart) isn't here, captain planet comes as a vengeful protector of the earth that says a crew it I'm enforcing environmental protections in contention with governments of the world
I had a teacher in secondary school-high school to you Americans-who would say "Go, go, power rangers" after giving instructions as a way to say "start working now."
We don't need a rated R film, but I wouldn't mind a reboot that's better written and more sophisticated. I've said that about all those cheesy toy commercials cartoons from back then 😅. I mean imagine seeing those episodes of Captain Planet where they tried to talk about aids and gang violence but it's done in a less preachy way and in a more subtle way 🤔.
Only parodies could work like the Don Cheadle funny or die bit or Planetina from Rick and Morty At most I can see them trying to update the material like what they did with Xmen 97
I'm here for a bionic 6, silverhawks, Thundercats, or Thundar the Barbarian rated R movie. Phuck it even masters of the universe or God forbid(I don't know what they are waiting for )VOLTRON.
Must had been some stupid kid who asked that question. Honestly I am tired of people asking for R rated versions of animated shows. Not every Saturday morning show needs to be gritty and realistic! Is like that one time when everyone wanted Christopher Nolan to give the realistic treatment to their favorite shows from Transformers, He-Man, Ghostbusters to TMNT.
lol Actually it was a joke I made in chat. They were reviewing 'In A Violent Nature' and I typed "r-rated Captain Planet?" because it sounds like a title for that. at 5:18 in this video look in the chat where I clarify. Not saying it was a good joke. Side-Note: People seemed pretty hyped when it was announced that an R Rated TMNT movie based on the Last Ronin is in the works. Is that something you'd be interested in?
nobody asked for a Winnie the pool Rated R movie and look what we got two of them out now so why not a dark superhero movie like CAPTAIN PLANET? the guys who done the Winnie the pool horror films already doing more of Disney top icon characters turning them into horror films and they already wanted to do a MICKY mouse horror film so cory open up your mind we already got bad films as it is this wont be any worse on what's already been put out lol
I loved captain planet and the planeteers in the 90s I grew up watching the show sure it's nostalgic but to do an R-rated version wouldn't serve anything and as a millennial myself I can't see see it working unless they go the comedic route but wait we already have that the don cheadle version already exist lol either way don't mess with it
For a long time, I wanted to see a live action movie of captain planet with the character of Captain planet being played by Tim Allen for long time before 2023 and even before 2008 wanted to see a family movie Captain Planet that wanted see rated pg not read r I was never asking for a rated r movie of Captain planet

"Protect the environment, or I'll turn you into a fucking tree"
CAPTAIN PLANET!
Ha ha
Just watch the Don Cheadle one for an R Rated Captain Planet experience 😂
"Don't summon me again, unless you ready for that pain." 😂😂😂
My spirit twin I love that
Or the robot chicken version.😂
literally came here to say this xD
Earth fire wind water heart weed with these powers combine
Captain Planet becomes an eco-terrorist. 🤣
Ted Kaczinski meets Homelander, and as someone who both loves the natural world AND hates The Boys i really dont want that to be a thing 😂
Captain Planet becomes Thanos. lol.
Literally poison ivy from Harley Quinn 😂
Rick and Morty did that
@@TheOneManWhoBeatYou "SIMPSONS DID IT"
I'm a 90s kid and Captain Planet reruns was what you watched when nothing else was on. Cartoon Network and Kids WB
Yep. For me as long it was a cartoon but the show was just awful.
@lenindominguez1986 How so?
Not trying to argue just asking 🤔.
@lenindominguez1986 I was asking why you think the show is good, other than nostalgia 🤔?
Maybe if it's a dark satirical comedy, like we see a washed-up Captain Planet that's completely disillusioned with the state of the world today, trying to cope over his failure to protect the planet with booze, planeteers left him etc
it'd have to be pretty meta, mostly satirical, and very dark to get me onboard
" Captain F&ckin Planet here to Save the F*CKING PLANET"🤣
A Rated R Captain Planet would just be 90 minutes of him telling us how we fucked up and how he was trying his best but we put profits over our homes.
Exactly 💯
So it would be some preachy piece of shit is what you're saying?
@ 4:18 “And his theme song SUCKS!“ 😂
I appreciated Captain Planet, mostly because there was nothing else on in the morning before school.
Tolerated, would be a better word for me, but yeah same
@SuperSpastic Appreciated.

There are some kids cartoons from the 80s and 90s could work as an R rated movie: Street Sharks, Spiral Zone, Inhumanoids, ect.
why not the..... stone protectors or swat cats??? lmao man, everybody was trying to be the next ninja turtles
Well, if you want a Robot Chicken skit stretched as a feature-length movie, I guess it could work.
Though nothing could top that Don Cheadle Captain Planet parody video.

@@bearerofbadnews1375 Of course that Pooh "horror" film started a cinematic universe. 🙄
This could definitely be good. A dark comedy about Captain Planet being PISSED that the world's environment is fucked beyond repair.
Too bad Robot Chicken already did that and condensed it into a mere minute long segment.
don cheadle made a damn _G R E A T_ unhinged lieutenant earth... i mean captain planet
Don Cheedle did this.. and it's a damn shame they didnt pick it up for a full movie. 😅
Ngl, I had a love-hate thing with captain planet. I liked the idea of a superhero, but I hated how easily he could be weakened by literal trash. At that point, I was like I feel like I can beat captain planets ass.
Crazy thing is, Captain Planet dogwalked Captain Pollution; a being literally made out of pollution.
Captain Planet returns after a 20 year hiatus to find we've completely fucked everything up......I could see this working lol
Had a Captain Planet lunchbox...we don't need a movie.
A dark origin story of Captain Planet.
It’s crazy you can’t mention the word gay without having to go into a whole explanation of how you’re not anti-gay
He's a straight sexual fluid. We love him but bless korey's heart. He's trying.😅
I feel like Captain Planet would need to be an anti-hero for a rated R movie to work.
That could actually work. If A24 got the rights, would be a bomb ass premise honestly lol
You've got a point, climate change has become such a larger issue that CAPTAIN PLANET's point of existing is kind of moot. Plus the show never had any great lore or characters to hold onto, it's largely loved just for nostalgia purposes these days.

The ghost of Freddie Mercury would tell you to chill. 😂😂😂
Unless.. the twist is that Captain Planet ends up like Captain America and be an undercover hydra/corporation agent
Captain Planet is one of my favorite cartoons from the 90s😤
oh yeah, I just remembered, OK KO even had a Captain Planet episode. And i think even in that episode Captain Planet acknowledged things with the environment are way too close to the point of no return that even he couldn't make a difference.
Yeah, very depressing
I grew up with Captain Planet
“Instead of complaining about how you want R Rated superhero movies because you’re an adult, then why don’t you watch movies that are made for adults?”
-Patrick (H) Willems, 2020
Have him and Poison Ivy work together lol
If you got phil Lord and Chris Miller, along with the writers of 21 and 22 jump street, and make it an R rated parody of the show it could work.
Imagine Diddy dressed up as Captain Planet.
He’d never be allowed in Florida for sure 😂
i think they did this sort of thing already via Robot Chicken for a sketch or two.
I dare someone to do this! Instead of fucking trash weakening him, make him angry. The more you pollute, the more he becomes the hulk. The more power, the more humans he kills. He becomes Ra's al Ghul!!!
That sounds more like Swamp Thing
That intro raw and Im mad every time yall pause it let me jam😂😂
🌎100th comment and Kory actually Tom Cruise was originally the voice of Captain Planet but bowed out after the first 7 episodes. His voiced was redubbed by another actor. Rumor is he wanted more creative control?! Also the theme song sounds allot like Step By Step By New Kids On the Block?!🌎🧑🎤🦸♂🕺

Captain Planet was about as effective as the D.A.R.E. program.
Yeah you gotta sew Don Cheadle as captain planet. It'll change yo mind.
Nah. Give us a Widget movie.
No Captain Planet slander will be tolerated Coleman 😤. We love our Captain Planet 😂
Captain Planet was a good show 😊
Yep it was I still know the words of the ending theme credits
I want a movie version of Thundar the Barbarian, Voltron and Thundercats
I grew up on Captain Planet and the Planeteers. It’s a great series! Don Cheadle as Captain Planet is hilarious.🤣🤣🤣
I had a teacher in secondary school-high school to you Americans-who would say "Go, go, power rangers" after giving instructions as a way to say "start working now."
Nah, that theme song was flames back in the day 🔥
The R rated Power Ranger short film was real good so I would be interested in what Captain Planet would look like.
Ma-Ti has the power of Heart because without it, the powers of Earth, Fire, Wind and Water would not be held in check.
Can we have Steven Seagal be the frontrunner as Captin Planet for the r rated version 😂
People will just say it’s woke.
Caltain Planet starrring Dog Chapman and his mullett 😂
Oh, come on, a Rated R Captain Planet movie with him going on an Anti-Hero arc killing the Oil Executives; like Image Comics "Supreme".
Trigger Korey almost came back😅
Captain Planet vs. Captain Korey -- "Coming" 2026
The real 90’s cartoon they turning into a rated R movie I’m waiting for is the Ninja Turtles. That Rated R Ronin movie is going to be Righteous
Just get Don Cheadle 😅
I was a kid watching shit like Captain planet til i saw second form Frieza gore krillin with a giant horn on a cartoon. I lost my innocence that day 😂
Just sounds like they're running out of ideas to reboot. It can work, with the right people, you never know.
My thoughts were that Robot Chicken skit,
Ted Turner is Captain Planet, there's your Rated R Caption Planet.
Captain Planet being R-Rated? Next you'll tell me people want a kid's cartoon based off of The Toxic Avenger. Oh wait, that did actually happen.
I’ve been advocating for this for years. Ever since I started taking climate change serious this made sense to me lol.
Adi Shankar has one of these things in a drawer for a decade
Only parodies could work like the Don Cheadle funny or die bit or Planetina from Rick and Morty
At most I can see them trying to update the material like what they did with Xmen 97
Asking for this feels like gross overindulgence. Like having a 9 course meal where cotton candy is the primary ingredient. Piggin out. For what?
I always thought Captain Planet was lame. I just had to deal with it to get to the good shows.
Well with the stakes of Climate change is risen, Captain Planet is serious.
Though as an Eco anarchist, you can't repair the planet with capitalism
I'm here for a bionic 6, silverhawks, Thundercats, or Thundar the Barbarian rated R movie. Phuck it even masters of the universe or God forbid(I don't know what they are waiting for )VOLTRON.
Captain Planet would be the perfect super woke movie.
the power is yours
Yall hating on the OG Captain Planet theme 😢
Don Cheadle is the R-Rated Captain Planet
Are they doing a R rated TMNT movie based on last Ronin I’m still looking forward to mutant mayhem 2
They are indeed doing a R-Rated TMNT movie
Is this the badass story when Mikey was the last remaining turtle
What’s next? The gritty R-rated Zack Snyder Turbo Teen movie? 🤣
What's next an R rated Smurfs? 😂
Must had been some stupid kid who asked that question. Honestly I am tired of people asking for R rated versions of animated shows. Not every Saturday morning show needs to be gritty and realistic! Power Rangers was a much better show 😊
I lowkey want to see it😂
Anybody else wanna go green?
👇
Am I the only that loved Captain Planet as a child? 😮 the hate is insane to me lol
Who wants to see that? ... I do, I do ahahahaha
Ooooooff, Corey
I loved captain planet and the planeteers in the 90s I grew up watching the show sure it's nostalgic but to do an R-rated version wouldn't serve anything and as a millennial myself I can't see see it working unless they go the comedic route but wait we already have that the don cheadle version already exist lol either way don't mess with it

I do not agree with that comment the theme song did not suck the theme song was cool I think it was cool.
Ted Turner did a number on my psyche. Till this day, I have a near visceral reaction when I see bad recycling habits
😂😂😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣🤣😭😭
As a straight man, I was offended for this one. #MaybeIAmASnowflake 🤷🏾♂️
Swamp Thing makes a better Captain Planet than Captain Planet
