This video is really awesome ! It’s weird to see our TVR circulating at the very beginning of their existence. Today these vehicles are still running but we are having more and more problems ! The end of the TVR is scheduled for June 2023 to be replaced by Hess Lightram 24 meters
yes there was a moment where a car tried to travel through red traffic signals and smash with one of the buses. But the bus driver gave a blast of the horn to stop the car.
The rubber tyres wear out much faster than steel wheels. The guiding system will work only, when there is no snow or ice on the "track" or pavement. A tram or LRV is a much better alternative.
I love these things and hope to travel on one in the future. I prefer to call this a rubber tired tram. Because it runs on tires, and can be steered by the driver like a trolleybus. However, it can also run and be quided by a single guide rail kinda like a conventional tram. Thus, it's neither and/or kinda of both.
If you want to travel on them then you must be quick as the Caen system is expected to close in December 2017. I am not sure about Nancy, I think it will stay open for a few more years before also being converted to a steel wheel tramway. Its a shame, the concept was great but the technology had problems (derailing) and apart from experimental test tracks only two cities ever used it
Nice! At 4:09, it looks like a car almost drove through a red light or something and the bus operator gave him a quick toot of the horn to get the vehicles driver to stop. Then he honks back at the bus!! Odd...
maybe - but I did not see it do this. trolleybuses only dewire if something is not right - such as a bent trolleypole, damage to wires, or old fashioned style wiring which requires buses to slow down. Simon
The brochure from BN about the prototype GLT quotes: 2 electric motors 600VDC 300kw diesel generator 260kw The leaflet from Bombardier about Nancy TVR quotes: electric motors 300kw diesel generator 200kw I hope this is what you wanted to know

truly a shame. it must be cheaper and better to fix the derailing than converting it into a tram/LRV?
It's all gone forever.

when in tram mode there is extra noise from the guidance system.
Alex, we nearly had these in Bristol - it was proposed but as ever funding was a problem.

It would be cool just to see one in real life!
а как зимой когда на дороге лёд?
Видимо у них нет такой зимы как нашей
Ouai
This technique was unfortunately a failure.
Faulse the tram is limited at 40 km/h on the rail
