- A smorgasboard of trolleybuses seen in 15 European towns and cities, mostly filmed in the 1990's but a few views date from 2003 and 2012.
Also included are kerb guided trolleybuses travelling through subterranean tube train tunnels and calling at stations for which they need doors on both sides; brief views of the suspended / hanging railway at Wuppertal Vohwinkel; a trolleybus turntable; multiple-unit trolleybuses; trolleybuses towing trailers (and ride inside) and even few trams.
Some might suggest that I've included everything bar the kitchen sink! :-)
Locations seen at least once are: Esslingen, Solingen, Essen, (Germany); Arnhem (Holland); Schaffhausen, Vevey - Montreux, Neuchatel, Berne, Lausanne, Biel/Bienne (Switzerland); Milan (Italy); Riga (Latvia), Coimbre (Portugal); Lyon, Nancy (France).
Enjoy!
In Germany we have Esslingen, Solingen and Eberswalde.
So many cities had trolleybus and abandoned it. Berlin, Dresden, Hannover...
Awesome video! Too bad a lot of cities closed their trolleybus systems..
Thanks
That's nice & kind video. I really like it)
Thank you. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed it.
merci
Very fast accelerating buses some of those
+dennis trident william I'm told by people who remember London's trolleybuses that they could out accelerate expensive fast cars and sometimes there were mild g forces... passengers had to hold very tightly, if not already seated.
When London Transport was replacing its trolleybuses with diesel buses it often reduced the number of bus stops along the route, as that way the slower diesels had a better chance of maintaining the same schedules.
+citytransportinfo yeah, that and a combination of a LOT of torque and that comes instant
Next time see Moscow trolleybuses. The network is still large, and old trolleybuses are so nice!
And in Moscow it's gone. Battery bus only
13:28 Trolleybus tries to imitate a tram...
Arnhem is not in Holland, it's in Gelderland. ;)
