All my aunts and uncles are still alive and they're 78 and 82 years old that made me do this work so I hope I live as long as they did 🤣
Andrew she gets cuter by the day. It's Amazing how fast they grow up. I would love to be able to turn the clock back and do it all over again. I raised my children by myself a single dad with a boy and a girl. The perfect little family. I stayed single so I could concentrate on my kids. I loved every minute of it too. They are grown now and have kids of their own. I get to spoil them rotten and send them home. 😂
I've never picked beans any way other than by hand, so that bean picker fascinated me. That cabbage looks so good, and I wish I had a bunch or two of that dill for making pickles. Mine got eaten by something, and what's at our farmers market wasn't looking much better yet. As always, Callie was so adorable. Such a happy baby.
The BEAN PICKER!!! Love watching that thing!!! Watching your videos makes me want to go eat my way though my veggie drawer. Grandpa how do you stay so young and spry??? Ask Grammy if I can come to lunch one day, she does the best lunches. Miss Callie is so adorable with those little toofers and that giggle!!! One happy baby who loves her family. Deer still in the beets??? Have a wonderful week and can't wait to see you again next time. P.S. I doing good today.

The velvet leaf and ragweed are bad this year. Keep up the good work. I'm still waiting on tomatoes to ripen but I don't have a green house to start plants for a early harvest.
Awesom farm vegetables looking very delicious 😋 thanks for sharing your thoughts and comments with us 🇺🇸, and taking us along with the harvest of the vegetables 😀
I admire your family and all of the hard work that everyone puts in as a team. Weeding is the least favorite/most dreaded thing to do on the farm, but it is critical for success. Love your videos and the way you edit!
I like how you explain things like why you left the bean picker in the field. There are lots of little decisions farmers make that make a difference in productivity. Good job!
I love the style of your videos, how we just go along with you through the farm and store all day. I wouldn't mind a little tutorial as you go about all those different types of hand harvesting tools you use. I've never seen that thing you use for the zucchini and I'd love ideas of the best types of tools for harvesting various crops. My garden has gotten to about 1/4 acre and harvesting tools is something I haven't invested much research time or money in, and it's becoming obvious I need to. 🤣
I thought the mulch stopped weeds. I got to start listening better. Good video love how you all work like a well oiled machine. Love how your wives take such good of 🥰 their husbands
Major problems with the governments , food and weather of all lands of this world so buckle up and prepare yourselfs don't act like a 18-30 year old adults be a adult! My only warning to you I'm not feeding you all just my family and will be kings when it's all over .....gimme kiss!!!😘
Wow, you all battle some major weeds even with the mulch. No wonder Grandpa is proud of keeping them under control. He should be. Do you have any theories on where they come from? I always thought wind (blowing around seeds) was the culprit. Then, I heard a couple of homesteaders say: 1) tilling can stimulate weed growth, or 2) the earth grows whatever weeds to replace certain nutrient(s) missing in the soil. Last year, my county neglected mowing a road verge for a few months. Within only two months, weeds I've never seen before shot up seven feet tall there. Now, I'm thinking the earth is programmed to do this automatically.
Don’t take this the wrong way but I’m actually happy to see the same prevalence of the same species of weeds in your fields as my garden. I’m doing something right if I have the same weeds as you guys!
Hi, I watched you pull weeds, I had a garden once, but I liked pulling my weeds out of the row’s, just like your family did, it was nice to watch, you all have a good evening
Hi I love your show glad to see family's working together.i would like to see more of gramy and how she cookes add her in. She's a very big part of the family
"We put irrigation on it, and then the rain got scared that it's being replaced so then it just started raining and it hasn't stopped yet." :D I laughed out loud
Wow Andrew Great timing for a video, you have been teasing me with fresh corn on the cob. I just had that for dinner. So yummy watching my favorite farmers. Go Veggie Boys and Girls.
You might develop a market for “Lambs Quarter”. People are learning it’s a great food to forage and they are buying seeds to grow it. I saw lots of big ones! Woo hoo! Love your vids and your family! The heart of America! ❤️
Sounds like dill was a pretty good crop this year. You really need to cull some of the deer in your area. They will only get worse and worse. Just do a call out for deer hunters, get a culling license if you need one (some areas require them), get everybody together one evening, turn on some flood lights and shoot away. When I was a kid my mother know a farmer that had huge problems with deer in his green beans. The green beans were right behind the house. They had some flood lights installed. A lot of alcohol was involved (this was the later 70s after all....) but they would still get about 20-30 deer before the beer ran out. One night they got 50 deer. They are vermin to farmers. We would usually get a freezer full of venison. We raised 2-3 pigs each year and would grind a pork belly in with the venison. Green bean raised deer makes for the tastiest venison and the fat from the pork belly makes it even better.
I'm lucky enough to live in an area where there are wild pigs and deer, so I know what you are talking about, shoot one pig and you have enough fat to grind 2 or 3 deer. The problem is, deer tags are a big money maker for the state's DNR so they don't allow the culling of nuisance deer, out of season in a lot of places. Most states have a short "Gun" season of 10-15 days, in places I've lived, but it is the same as it was in the 60s and 70s when deer populations were 25-150% lower at that time. The thing I would most like to see is, gun deer seasons, run from 1 Nov-30 Dec in most states and a bag limit of 8, either sex, to get the population under control and manageable again.
@@richardfrank9317 Seems PA has some odd laws. They can kill any animal causing damage at any time, but must contact the game warden and they will dispose o the carcass. You can only keep one of the deer and only if the land is open to hunting by the public. So the DNR gets the bodies. "Yes, members of your household, non-household family members helping with the farm, and regularly hired farm help may kill game or wildlife witnessed to be causing, or about to cause, damage to farm crops, fruit trees, vegetables, livestock, poultry or beehives raised on any farmlands under your control, including detached lands. A person killing game for crop or livestock protection must report the kill to a Game Warden within 24 hours.. The entire carcass of the bird or animal killed, less entrails, must be kept intact and at a safe place pending final disposition, unless the person is entitled to keep the animal (see question 5) or unless otherwise directed by a Game Warden. A person entitled to kill animals for crop and livestock protection (see question 4) may keep one deer, bear or elk, if both of the following exist: (1) the land on which the kill occurred was open to public hunting and was not within an area in which a deterrent fence was built, and (2) the entire edible portion of any previously killed and retained deer, bear or elk has been consumed. If an animal is kept for food, it may only be eaten in the household of the person making the kill. The head and hide of an animal kept for food consumption must be properly salted, placed in safe keeping and turned over to a Game Warden. Act 26 of 2007 (further detailed in Regulations 147.761-147.765), allows farmers to get additional help in controlling the number of wildlife causing damage to farm crops. Farmers may obtain permits from the Game Commission authorizing up to two subpermittees other than family members and employees to assist the farmer in shooting game for crop damage. Subpermittees must be PA residents and hold a current PA hunting license to qualify. Game may be taken 24-hours-per-day under this provision. Under this program game taken may not be kept for personal consumption, but may be given to authorized food banks and organizations like “Hunters Sharing the Harvest” for distribution to the needy. Donation to qualifying food banks must be coordinated and approved by your Game Commission regional office. All game taken must be reported to the Game Commission within 24-hours "
Am learning a lot from the farming methods and teaching about how weeds are a danger to the plants in growth, moisture, and nutrients as they compete for these things. Even the farm machines are amazing how they do the work making it easy and efficient. I love watching the harvest of different crops and how they travel around the world to provide food for different establishments. When i eat in restaurants I always want fresh veggies on my soup, sauteed foods to salads and I realize how important the work of the farmers around the world are. You always impress, entertain, and amuse me with the work you do.. Air hugs to princess Callie, she's my favorite part of the video, growing so fast and pretty with that happy, cute smile. She's so adorable!!! Buh bye!
Andrew, when taking Callie outside, you need to think about providing her with either a hat or sunglasses to protect her eyes from the harsh ultraviolet rays. Even a few minutes unprotected, can have harmful effects on her young eyes. When you go out in the bright sun , you put on your sunglasses plus a hat, give Callie that same consideration for safety that you afford yourself while outside in the sun.
There's something very satisfying about watching and hearing corn being picked. Good explanation on the weeds - never thought about them taking moisture and nutrients away from the veggie plants. Love watching!
It has a lot to do with where you are living. Lambsquarter is a common weed in most places, and people ignore it. When I lived in Washington, blackberries were everywhere, and I was making jam and pies, and using the canes to smoke salmon and no one I knew did any of that.
Yes it is edible & nutritious, but each plant can produce in excess of 35000 seeds which remain viable in the soil for years. And it can grow over 6 ft tall so if you don't control it, it will completely overtake a field. It was very much a nuisance on my vegetable farm. Sometimes people would ask if they could harvest some & we would tell them to help themselves to all they wanted lol!
Your video is a great reminder of the value of patience and perseverance. It takes a lot of time and effort to grow and harvest melons and oranges, but the end result is so worth it. And the fact that you're able to make a living by selling them at the market is even more impressive. Keep up the great work! And it's an honor to have you visit our channel, we can discuss more about our experiences in harvesting and building farms.
Great job on all that weeding this year! It’s lovely seeing Callie’s personality growing. You guys are all full of love and laughter and it shows with Callie already.
Again, another get video. You all, veggie boys and girls work so very hard. Thanks for sharing the farm and your family with us all. Greetings from hot humid Mississippi!
Thank you for another enjoyable video. My grandfather and my great grandfather on my dad's side were farmers. My great grandfather on my mom's day side was a farmers. My maternal great grand mother and her people were plantation owners. And went thru the Civil war.
OMG fresh corn !!! Interesting that you hand-harvest the corn instead of using a corn picker. Do you get more cobs that way? Lambs Quarters ...what a pain in the A$$$ but it's edible especially the young leaves.
Do you pick the blossoms for people to eat? I can’t believe how fast Callie is growing. She will be answering you sooner than you know. It goes so fast.
All the vegetables look great. It’s good to see how well you guys all work together to get the job done. You make it all look so easy, but I know it’s hard work and the heat is not making any easier on all of you.
I HATE WEEDS!!!! It seems that no matter what!? Weeds always grow no matter how many time you pull them out! We just did our yard in weed block and rocks and the dang weeds grew on top of the weed block! Easy to pull but just like I said we always have WEEDS!
Have you ever tried marketing that Lambsquarters you pulled out? My Mom called it Poor Man's Spinach. It helped raise her Parents family of 8 in Oklahoma in the Depression.
We need rain bad creeks our starting to dry up and ponds our low of water . Our fields and gardens need rain. Thank you Andrew for the info on how to keep veggie and better harvesting crops . Yea it’s best to check veggies out in the fields to make sure no disease has taking over the veggies. Lunch sounds good make me hungry. If you uses the bean picker machine on your beans would it destroy the beans?Well that answers that question wow.
I feel sure that someone in your family is artistic… if so, could you get them to draw a simple family tree, going back to your (and Lauren’s) grandparents, and then put it in your ‘About’ section for all your loving fans to see? Please?
you guys must long for a cold showers on days like this!! Even your own natural exuberance is muted! Didn't think that was possible, thanks so much for such great content and editing, really appreciated!
I just found your channel I was wondering where you were located and then I heard you say Pennsylvania so it all makes sense. You have great soil and weather there. We moved to Florida again recently in Florida just can’t grow the kind of food you grow. Sandy soil either scorching hot or wet. We used to camp around Lancaster
Have you ever though about selling new potatoes about golf ball size they do very good up here in maine.around$5.00 for 3 lbs that and new peas selling good I enjoy your show
yes. that sweet corn has the stickyness of sugar. oh yes. the rain got scared if the irrigation replacing it lol. so what happened in California. the rain just surrender? you are so funny. God bless
I get so hungry watching you guys pick all that yummy veggies. If I were in the field I would be counting “0ne for the basket and one for me” . I only eat sweet corn raw.
As you know farmers have to be a jack of all trades to keep the farm productive. All of your family are the best. Thanks for sharing your lives.

You always impress, entertain, and amuse me with the work you do.. Air hugs to princess Callie, she's my favorite part of the video, growing so fast and pretty with that happy, cute smile. She's so adorable!!! Buh bye!
Awesome as always. Love your videos.
I'm jealous of you guys with all that corn. I love picking corn and eating it. Especially picking it. Beautiful looking corn too!
Love seeing you guys pulling weeds and not spraying poison!!!!
I passed though this cornfield in Eden NY and pluck corn almost everyday it's not my field tho yup....so iwalk through work eating a ear!
I hope you have permission from the farmer? Otherwise it's theft...
How hot did it get up there today? Come to south Florida. 94-95 almost every day.
👍👍👍from Costa Rica🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷🇨🇷
Questions:
Do you have surplus crops at the end of the growing season?
What do you do with the excess vegetables?
🤟🇨🇦👍
Hi Andrew,
Great video of the bean picker
What varieties of beans do you plant to pick with the bean picker?
Thanks Bob
There's something very satisfying about watching and hearing corn being picked. Good explanation on the weeds - never thought about them taking moisture and nutrients away from the veggie plants. Love watching!
Inspiring . You guys are doing well. keep it up
Thank you for the new video, love them all..such a sweet family..
Wow! Lambsquarter plant ya'll pulled are sooo nutritious and edible. In pacific northwest people eat it regularly. Plus, it is so good for your soil.
When I was little my parents wanted me to pull weeds. I couldn't tell the difference between the weeds and young young plants
That's when the plants were little
You guys rock man !!! (Ps. Where are the Brussels sprouts ?? Do you not raise them on you're family farm ?)
We do not raise them :)
And went thru the Civil war.
nice job
OMG fresh corn !!! Interesting that you hand-harvest the corn instead of using a corn picker. Do you get more cobs that way? Lambs Quarters ...what a pain in the A$$$ but it's edible especially the young leaves.
Do you have a group text. HARVEST so market crew can tell you what needs to be picked?
Magen is not a veggiebore.....absolutly not!!!!....My goodness those are not weeds.....those a ''MEGAWWEEDDSS'!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you pick the blossoms for people to eat?
I can’t believe how fast Callie is growing. She will be answering you sooner than you know. It goes so fast.
Yes we do - zucchini and pumpkin
Yes we do
All the vegetables look great.
Your wife or mom should start a channel where they show the business side!!! Would love to watch
Apakah cabenya cabe besar atau cabe keriting kawan
We need rain bad creeks our starting to dry up and ponds our low of water . Our fields and gardens need rain. Thank you Andrew for the info on how to keep veggie and better harvesting crops . Yea it’s best to check veggies out in the fields to make sure no disease has taking over the veggies. Lunch sounds good make me hungry. If you uses the bean picker machine on your beans would it destroy the beans?Well that answers that question wow.
Hot days are not easy on four AND 2 legged FROM Texas USA 🥰🫶👀👀👀 loving family and friends . Great videos
Maybe I've been watching too much Veggie Boys. The red totes were in my dreams last night. lol
Loved ve the veggie boys and girls
I just found your channel I was wondering where you were located and then I heard you say Pennsylvania so it all makes sense. You have great soil and weather there. We moved to Florida again recently in Florida just can’t grow the kind of food you grow. Sandy soil either scorching hot or wet. We used to camp around Lancaster
Have you ever though about selling new potatoes about golf ball size they do very good up here in maine.around$5.00 for 3 lbs that and new peas selling good I enjoy your show
The big weeds being picked are lambs quarters aka a delicious wild spinach alternative 😜 Things look great y'all!!
I am envious of yous guys up north harvesting cabbage in knee high ragweed, By then my cabbage would have bolted or worm riddled.
Love your videos, I have been searching for your zucchini harvest knife? What's it's name? Where can I buy one?
