Your friend Charlotte seems like an amazing woman, I hope her treatment serves her well and she reaches her goal to help others. You too seem like an amazing woman and friend to be able to help her as well. I hope you take care of yourself as well - I lost my father when I was 16 very suddenly to what we now believe was lung cancer (he was misdiagnosed and passed off), so I know what it's like to stand by and watch someone go through something unimaginable. Brain cancer took my wife in the end, Breast cancer twice it had spread both times over a nine year period, I remember the day she told me it had spread to her brain very well, in here situation we knew what that meant exactly, I had a seizure the following day, it takes it toll on everyone. I am so sorry to hear this and it must be so hard for you to talk about with the shock of everything. I Just wanted to send you some positive thoughts and let you know about my mum who has had 4 brain tumours, the biggest 4 cm and in the small brain. She had 3 of them removed by surgery and the 4th with radiation. She had it for some time before they discovered the big one when she was around 60, she will be 75 this year and she is having her struggles but she is still with us 🌹

Lost my mum to a brain tumour nearly 30 years ago, so feeling for Charlotte. I'm glad they were able to take most of your friends tumour out with surgery (in mum's case they couldn't). Treatment has moved on in the last 30 years and survival rates have gone up, so there's hope. I wish you, Charlotte and her family all the best. There's always more need for research to improve treatment and understanding of this horrible disease though, so I encourage people to donate.

You know I can see a film passing in my head while you’re talking My husband is at the hospital since September because of a brain cancer, unfortunately because of this he had a stroke on his right side, he had a begging of stroke in July 2021 but at the hospital they said it wasn’t a stroke ( they was wrong ) it was. So 2 months late he had a second more strong stroke and see him with no movements on his right arm and very little movements on his right leg is so upsetting, but we have to keep looking forward and I’ve been praying all the times for a miracle on his chemo because he’s having a very strong one but I really hopping to come back here soon to tell you guys some good news 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 And I’ll be with Charlotte in my prayers as well and let’s hope for the best 🙏🏻

Steve faded away after successful surgery within a couple of years. His family did likewise, raising money. Carolyn is very much still with us. Very, very sad fact - the prognosis is extremely poor beyond a few years out.

I met my best mates tumour before I met him. He made a comment about always wearing hats, “Ever since Steve”. “Steve?”. He tipped his hat to reveal his shiny bald head, a giant scar running along his skull. “Yeah, Steve”. Everyone referred to his tumour with a familiarity, a fondness- by naming it and using humour, he transformed the tumour from something foreign attacking him, to a friend shadowing him. Please don’t feel the need to minimise your experience as Charlottes best friend. I’m a best friend *and* a patient myself (but not brain cancer). I find it so much easier to be the one hurting, than to know my loved ones are hurting. Even at my most not-okay, even if I can’t communicate- some part of me knows I’m okay. My loved ones don’t know that though. One thing you might like to explore is the idea of seeing a counsellor or a clinical psychologist, who specialises in cancer, illness, trauma. It can provide us with an opportunity to explore everything we’re feeling, without needing to be strong or put on a brave face. Being able to let those emotions go in a supported environment, have questions answered by someone who works in the cancer and serious illness world everyday, some practical advice, all of that can mean that you’re able to let go, so that when you’re with/talking to/seeing Charlotte, you can provide her with the support that she needs, and be really present. I will add one more thing; as a patient, I hate my friends saying to me ‘I can’t complain to you/it’s nothing compared to what you’re going through/no no it’s fine it’s not about me’. It makes me feel guilty, like my circumstances make those I love most feel that they can’t turn to me. You and Charlotte might even be able to work out a traffic light system, simple communication tools really help when you’re going through such major illness, treatments, surgeries. You can apply it to asking how she is- green is good, orange is meh, red is shit. Her pain. Her mood. But also what space she’s in for conversation; green I can talk about anything today, we can be silly, we can go deep, I’m g, or; orange, let’s not go too high or too low; or red, let’s keep it really gentle and basic today. You’re evidently two very beautiful souls and your friendship is precious to witness. You might like to start a routine or some kind of tradition to mark walking this path together; You could go old school and get a journal to share where you each write in it to one another of everything you’re experiencing. Not just cancer, but life. paste in photos, hospital arm bands, pressed flowers, origami cranes. a way to document your process together, an album which you can look back on 20 years from now and say ‘that was a shit time wasn’t it? But look at all the things we still did’. Holding you both in love ♥️

One question is that, isn't it a bit too soon after her covid infection for the cancer to have been caused by that? Could it have grown that quickly since her infection? Or could it be caused by something else, such as the jab? One question is that, isn't it a bit too soon after her covid infection for the cancer to have been caused by that? Could it have grown that quickly since her infection? Or could it be caused by something else, such as the jab?
I wish her well, but at the same time I really wish people like her would have basic curiosity as to the root cause of their cancer, not only for their own sake but to potentially save others if she discovered that she needed to warn others about something. I don't like the way the world seems to be everyone for themselves, you see, maybe if somebody else had warned her, she might have saved herself from catching it, hypothetically of course, but if nobody ever bothers to get to the bottom of anything, the question remains unanswered, potentially at a health cost to others!😰
