I play my nfl 2k5 when I need a football game fix
I can't begin to tell you how jealous I am that you have a 2k football game. I regret it to this day trading mine in when they announced they were going to stop making them 🫠 Do you think 2k ever gets back into the football scene?
It's starting to get boring, though. Even the mod isn't doing it anymore.
How cany play it now? With updated rosters?

I want to mad at EA for still not putting any effort in to make a good nfl sim, but the truth is the real problem is us. We are the bad guys in this story. This game has been basically the same for almost a decade and yet we keep buying it. Nothings is gonna change untill we stop.
After the ten hour trial i give the game itself a 3 and i give the sports gaming community a 1 for still making this one of the top selling/money making games year after year.
Also a 1 to the nfl for caring more about a very little bit of revenue in the grand scheme of things than their fans. The money the nfl actually makes off madden is a drop in the bucket to them and yet they still dont care that their fan base is basically getting ripped off.
No gaming company shpuld have exclusive license to make any pro sports game. It should be illegal. Its anti competitive and anti consumer. We have all seen that fact in real time watchjng the decline of madden since 2k05.
I guess its another year of ncaa 14 for me.
I couldn't agree more and am praying to the football gods that the exclusive licensing gets lifted sooner than later. I know its a pipe dream but like you said, it would change everything. With NCAA coming back next year, are you excited or concerned based on how EA has handled Madden?
@@Joystick_Gamer I have very little doubt that ncaa football is just gonna be madden with different jerseys and the slight different yet still lazy version of franchise and mut. EA cant help themselves.
Seriously, anyone who thinks college is gonna be anything but a direct copy of madden but with college teams is out there minds.

My first madden on next gen... And first Madden really since AB was on cover... This is alot better than that... Havent had a crash yet in about 12 hours of play.

My injuries are down to 10 and still they're player from my 5eam being injured damn near every play
I play madden 08 on ps3 still last one that held up to it plus that soundtrack was actual music 🎶
Those soundtracks hit different back then ! 08 was unreal too with Sum 41, Brother Ali, Yellowcard, The Bravery, Queens of the Stone Age, Zion I... god that list goes on and on. Whats your favorite song off that soundtrack?

Bro when I play superstar mode as qb it keeps giving me a weird camera glitch where I can’t see what I’m doing like it’s focusing on my qb or a receiver and I don’t know what I’m doing
Dude I know exactly what you’re talking about! It’s annoying af, but there is a fix! In the settings, go to ‘visual feedback’ and under the camera section you’ll see “offensive player-lock camera”. Set that to traditional and you’ll be good to go!

It's the engine. EA should take a few years, and get us a proper UE engine football sim, and reboot the franchise. But we all know, as long as they hold the license, that will never happen. Look no further than the NBA. It's an open license, and they get their ass kicked. And the NFL just cares about the revenue. So as long as you DA's continue to spend money on UT, we will never see the license open. It's a real shame. Because this series is dead. They can not make a decent football sim. Period.

its WILD how often it happens. Theres so many times I think its a big defensive play and SYKE its a 50 yard gain for them. Do you think these issues are fixable or is this a busted game?

The most frustrating thing is the difficulty of forcing fumbles. It's been like this for a number of years now.
I wish there was a mechanic that made guys more likely to fumble if they had multiple guys tackling them. Do you wish they would allow more strip sacks or more fumbles from big hits?

The server issues have been crazy
INSANELY BAD! I haven't had as many over the last day or so but im still having to reconnect at least once per play session
Yup that and the fact that Superstar for example requires a network connection.There is no reason for that because it is only offline yet i am getting kicked out for the second time in a 4 quarter in a fucking offline mode.Franchise btw the same shit.And one of the biggest pros of madden got taken out instead,the ingame save.Its like they dont want you to play…
Right it works perfectly fine for me expect for solo battles on mut it’s been saying it can’t connect for two days now
You are way too generous with your game score. It should be no higher than 1 or 2. The copy and paste effort that made this game possible does not equate to a respectable score of 6/10
I would not argue with anyone who thinks it shouldn't be higher than a 5 because of the copy and paste BS they do every year. My justification for the 6 is that a lot of the performance issues should be fixable through patches so it has potential to solid down the road. But I also hate myself for giving them the patch excuse that they get every year 🙃 do you think they should stop releasing a new game every year and spread out the releases?
@@Joystick_Gamer Thanks for responding! You know no company would ever pause for a rebuild. In an ideal world, what they really should do is wipe the slate clean and bring in a new design team. Then get most vocal critics of the game like yourself, AngryJoe, RyanMoody, SoftDrink and create a focus group over a span of the game's development through the year. When you see such disparity in critic vs user scores then you know there is something terribly wrong
My main issue with this game is how buggy the game always is. Like in a game if I step a way for a min there’s an update, restart and a where the hell are my timeouts I have to deal with.

Honestly y'all, it's better than 23. It looks great plays good. The menu is a lil slow but I'm sure it'll get patched. I have had zero of these pile up issues that I keep seeing the same 3 clips of. They have 3 different passing techniques if you can't pass it's cause you're just bad. The running is amazing on this game. I do wish it had create a stadium or team but other than that I'm satisfied. It's football Madden does football well. Y'all just want a bunch of extras without thinking about how big the storage size will be if they try doin a 2k neighborhood thing.its a good game I enjoy it better than the last few maddens. And I always find it funny that these people will shit on Madden but still play it every day
I agree that they capture the feeling of football well and its what keeps people coming back. My biggest gripe is it feels like they keep making the same mistakes each year which can get old after a while. I wish they didn't cut corners on random things like the stadium and custom teams when there are maddens from the past that did all that. Im thankful af they didnt go the 2k neighborhood route though 😂

I think having to pump a new version out every year makes it tough for them to refine anything which SUCKS for the community. I wish they would go every other year and provide a $20-$30 roster update on years a new title doesn’t get released

I dont play mut, and i havent bought madden in about 5 yrs now, was leading the boycott back in the day. I play franchise and online h2h. I tried to download nfl 2k current mods but couldnt get it going so i caved and bought Madden this yr. I have enjoyed it very much so far, but the customization of nba 2k franchise and created teams and rosters and such makes me want more for what Madden does. None of your created players actually look like me lol.
What hurts the most about the customization is that there used to be TONS of it within Madden games and they took it out for no reason. I agree that the customization feels super limited and you're kind of stuck with a few different looking players that dont look very unique from one another. Have you been having any bugs or performance issues from your time playing?
@@Joystick_Gamer I haven't had any bugs so far, granted I've only played 5 or 6 franchise mode games to get used to it again. Gonna venture online sometime later tonight or tomorrow and see how that goes but smooth experience so far
why is no one talking about how players cannot catch for nothing bruh. recievers drop more often and if im throwing to a tight end or a running back its like a 50 50 chance they catch it and if its a running back it feels like its more 80% that they drop it. its so crazy getting like 10 drops per game
10 drops is a little exaggerated but if im being realistic its atleast 5-6 drops each game
I know what you mean about the drops, ESPECIALLY with the running backs. The amount of times they bobble a check down pass should get them cut from the game. Then there's other times theyll catch a ball that goes through their body. It makes no sense.
it should be illegal for a video game to allow that many dropped passes in a game. If we wanted to experience that many dropped passes, we can go play catch with our friends 😂
The game feels exactly the same and for the most part I think it sucks. But i will say in the ten hour trial i played the 50 50 balls definitely feel a lot better than in the past. When I tried 50 50 balls with mike Evans, he got most of them. When I tired with lesser players they didnt. The catching actually feels pretty good..

Me personally, putting in a game mode to just do it is not for me.
I mean, Superstar mode is so rushed. And feels like more busy work with buttons then actually playing a potential superstar. There’s basically nobody there at the combine. The NFL draft room is completely empty. I mean does EA Sports ever watch the combine and the draft?
I agree that Superstar is lacking a ton of detail, especially the feeling of being a superstar in the NFL. I'm always happy to play my boy Stuey, but Im with you, they need to put more time and effort into filling out these modes.

I agree that the graphics look amazing but outside of that they've taken some major steps backwards. @Joystick_Gamer Well 2k was making a new football game. They got the rights to an arcade style with the NFL , they just can't do a simulation. It's announced like 3 years ago. It's been in the dark since. I think 2k would if they had the time to make it right like All pro or 2k5 would shit all over Madden. I bet if the community actually had a choice , they would jump ship to 2k if they made a quality football game.

Screw Madden. I get a copy every 2 or 3 years & it’s always trash. Now I’m done buying completely, someone else besides EA & 2K/ money grabbers please make a decent game for crying out loud.
I totally agree. The copy and paste job has become offensively bad over the years. There's a game in the works called Maximum Football that looks really promising! The only thing that sucks is I dont think they'll have any player names or NFL team licenses.
