It kills me that I can’t play these songs in my videos due to copyright, but here’s an NFL Films music playlist: ua-cam.com/play/PL4t-k4YMDXtJmxSzDTXWmMszck7BbS3RQ.html
so "Under section 107 of the copyright Act 1976, allowance is mad for FAIR USE for purpose such a as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship and research. Fair use is a use permitted by copyright statues that might otherwise be infringing. Non- Profit, educational or personal use tips the balance in favor of FAIR USE." doesn't exist? for real though youtube copyright is retarded and it rly needs some changes. even when it's clearly fair use you have scummy ass companies like UMG (which I call the music police) who just ruin everything
I have no problem for nhl every year since 1993 except for this year's 2024 edition it was laughable. And it takes nothing to impress me I strictly play franchise mode good graphics good gameplay I'm content. But this year was just awful i traded I back in for nhl 23
@Davidjon1946 I actually play nhl games. All of them have been terrible for years since 15....no type of innovation. And be a pro Is a joke the exact same cut scenes for 4 years straight. I didn't even buy 24 because for an offline player like myself, there was no reason to buy it because it's literally the same as 23, and that, as you mentioned, was terrible as well as 21. These games are completely boring. How do u have a sports game with no team practice mode. No winter classic, no allstar games like these games are trash, and I'm done supporting their monopoly, and if nothing is done to nhl 25, I'll be skipping that to I can't justify the $70 anymore
@@noslipups3657 like I said I content I love my franchise I don't care about the winter classic Even though it would be cool to be awarded that location each year in franchise. But nhl 24 the checking the hitting the total control was the breaking part for me I gave you many and many years of loyalty ea sports . I stood by you but this year i can no longer defend you . Greetings from Buffalo New York
Imma be honest no company cares for real like 2k might give u a game or 2 that’s promising but I promise it wont last long all these companies ONLY want money that’s it
Im so invested in my 2k5 franchise. Ray Lewis went out with a punctured lung and Sports Center was talking about it for weeks with updates on his condition. The broadcasting team brought up the adjustments I made in the second half to counter the Colts adjustments. 2k5 is king.
Honestly, I can deal with mediocre gameplay, but having the absolute worst presentation despite having 10x better technology than back when it was good, is the main reason I don't even bother with EA sports games.
@@NYG5They could change it where if it's an autogenerated or player created player, it just makes a generic highlight of them throwing a TD pass or if they are a scrambler, running in for a TD
I remember highlights at halftime and highlights like midways through the second half showing recap of the game. That being whether the defense dominated or offense smh. Ea fell off
Lack of crowd noise is something that really bugs me out, it’s really insane how lifeless they are. How hard can it be to add stuff like the Terrible Towels, the “Go Pack Go!” chant, the tomahawk chop etc. or simply the touchdown songs of each team?
You bro are the voice of the all the individuals EA has ignored over the last decade and a half. I couldn’t agree with a video abt Madden no more than this. Everything spoken was pure facts💯
the Madden 25 team intros is one of the coolest pieces of presentation I’ve seen in a video game. I’ve never played Madden 25, but I like the sense of hype that it brings into the match that’s about to be played
I completely forgot Madden 14 was actually called Madden 25 for their 25th anniversary, I was like "damn how do you already know about next year's game?"
@@johnfoster2584i agree. Cuz even playing ncaa on the 360, in replays, it doesnt even show the whole play, it doesnt show the highlights for some odd reason. Play it on the ps3 and everything works fine. Idk what the issue was
Always felt that NCAA Football had better production values. Truly felt like a College Football Broadcast. Madden was always a little less immersive. Crowds were alwasy more dull, they didn't effectively get the sounds of the stadium right, and the commentary was a bit stiff. But it was still way better than what I see now. The whole "if it's in the game it's in the game" mantra is completely gone. The little things that once made you say wow that's cool are missing.. One of my favorite memories of this was when I beat a higher rated team on NCAA Football and the home crowd started chanting "overrated". It's what made these games memorable and a crucial missing piece. Thanks for your work in these videos.
I know 2K basketball is far from perfect, but I wish Madden’s presentation was more like that. In 2K, there are multiple broadcast teams, and that’s a big help with so many games in an NBA season. They cut it these last two games, but before they’d also bring in special guests to call the games with the regular crew, guys like Shaq would stop by. The halftime show is decent, the crew reviews the standings, highlights a matchup of two guys who are contributing or having a rivalry from both teams, takes a look at upcoming games, games in progress, or games earlier in the day that have finished. They’re funny and have chemistry with one another just like on their actual show in real life, sometimes a halftime show just becomes a Kenny and Shaq arguing segment. Graphics are way better, the scoring looks more like the graphics in an actual broadcast game. If you’re playing the Lakers or Clippers and aren’t at their arena, and you’re winning late, the fans will chant “Beat LA!” Fans chant “Let’s go (team here)!”, and chant “MVP!” when a really good player is shooting free throws to hype him up. The crowd will increase massively in volume when there’s a flashy dunk, or a big shot late in the game. They’ll boo if your team keeps missing shots. If your team wins the Finals, you can watch the banner being revealed and see each player and the coach receive a ring from the commissioner at their first home game of the next season. These are the kinds of things I’d love to see in Madden, even if they don’t fix the gameplay. Just freshen things up, it feels so lifeless and corporate.
Also they interview coaches at halftime with the real life head coaches or their star players Or legendary players signatures like Kobe grabbing his Jersey, Allen Iverson's hand to his ear when he gets fouled in Philly, Michael Jordan's tongue coming out when he dunks and Dennis Rodman Kickin his leg out when he rebounds That's some great detail and work to make it as authentic to the real NBA
They also do a quick interview of the player on winning team.. Win player of the week And they mention it during the game and show the stats from that week
Please don’t give up on these ideas. It gets tiresome but you keep shedding light on the problems. As your platform grows the more they will listen. Make them listen man
I went back to play the PS3 era of sports games and MAAAAN. Isn't even close. The gap is so massive. Games were so good at all levels. Presentation, music, theme, scoreboards and so much more. Is insane how much we regressed with the sport game genre NCAA10, Football NCAA, College Hoops, FIght Night games,NHL, MLB The Show. All those game got a massive regression
It’s fun and games until someone gives death threats to a player on their Twitter for their madden version having a drop that costs their fantasy matchup
Madden 12's intro is still my all time favorite. The inception music cut up with the best moments from the previous season always has given me chills before playing. Nothing has come close in Madden since.
I remember in Arena Football after each play, there were cutscenes of players trash talking each other, coaches addressing the players, or even the players straight up attacking each other, especially if you scored a touchdown.
The video that we never asked for..... but completely deserve and appreciate 🙂 but for real, I'm surprised NBA2K was never mentioned as examples of good presentation. With all the problems they have, the one thing we can all agree on is that they nail presentation every single year, even if they barely change it from year to year; since it's already so good
2k's problems are not with the main game. I am addicted to the Eras franchise mode. I have physically played 60+ games in my first season with no simming in 2 months. I have never done that before. They even have the damn Roundball Rock song you can play on loops during the out of game menu. It's amazing.
Like someone said. 2K never got a problem as a game. The core gameplay is great, presentation is great. Visuals are great. The bones and game itself is fantastic, but is everything around it that ruining it.
@@RomnysGonzalez It's the same problem every sports game is having. Ultimate team game modes and eSports' focus. The thing is, 2K never jeopardized single game
The problem with 2k is the microtransactions the game gets more expensive every year with no way to actually have control over the type of player you make especially when you spent 70 dollars on the game and another 50 dollars on virtual currency if I wanna play offline and make victor wembanyama I should be able to make him instead they force you to play online I get zero enjoyment out of playing against sweats online I'm usually a my career player but I'll play park or rec center with my friends games were more fun when we add option to play on or offline and the experience was great for both types of players
My impromptu list of ways to improve Madden/my wish list in no particular order Overall gameplay: 1) Fix the AI 2) Improve the presentation 3) Cross platform draft class/roster builders 4) Add legacy/all time teams 5) New commentary 6) Better music 7) Faster menus 8) Better player customization screen 9) More realistic player reactions (injuries, scoring, ect.) Franchise Mode: 1) Replace the MLB, OLB, DE, and DT positions with linebacker, edge, and interior defensive lineman. 2) Hide all rookie dev traits, and maybe some or all stats until players have played. Maybe make rookie ratings and dev traits change based on performance. 6) Better coaching system 7) Void years as part of contract negotiations 8) Better rookie gear generator 9) More realistic UDFA market 10) Recent gameplay has more impact on performance (hot streaks and cold streaks) 11) Better stat tracking 12) Make the actual players on the team matter more than the playbooks. 13) Compensatory draft picks Career Mode: 1) Some type of open world 2) Actual voice acting 3) A college stage 4) A better combine 5) More positions (D-line, O-line, full back, kicker/punter) Ultimate Team: 1) Less pay to win 2) Better servers 3) Stop with out of position players Some of these, specifically with the Ultimate team ones, will never happen. I'm aware of this. And other things will take years if they even want to implement them, like an open world career mode. But some of them seem really simple and I honestly don't know why they aren't already in the game. Actually, i do know why. Because EA has exclusive rights to simulation NFL games and they know that suckers like me will buy the game every year regardless.
this video is really amazing please make a follow up video with more ideas, I think something EA could add as a presentation feature is tracking relocation so like if you were the rams and you moved them to honolulu during the regular season the announcers talk about your teams recent moves and show a map of where your team has relocated to in the past
I have a distinct memory of someone in my house walking by me playing madden and going”What I didn’t think there was a game today” I can’t imagine anyone nowadays confusing live football to madden.
I love it! Presentation and gameplay definitely needs a positive overhaul! Cause what we have now… I just don’t even get excited to play it and I just play 1 MAYBE 2 hours of the free trial and I’m usually bored because I know that I’ve experienced all there is to experience
We watch movies/shows/plays, read books, even listen to music to get lost in their world for a while. Video games has that same quality if done right. If you're doing a sports game of a league with a long history, why not use it? Madden is leaving so much out and it's not polished. Another great video btw!
Thank you presentation is such an underrated aspect of sports games and maddens has been lagging behind for a solid decade by now it’s sad especially since they have the espn license
I’m a sucker for presentation in sports games mainly the score boards like I still have nhl 19 because it has my favorite score board in the series even nhl 15 and with madden 16 still holds the title for best score board in my opinion so when I see the lack of passion of the presentation of modern games it pisses me off that no one’s cares about it even though it’s a big part of it.
I agree with all of this, and I feel like in an alternate timeline this is how Madden looks. One where maybe they do have the exclusive license, but they live in a world where people only buy things if they're good, so they have to always find ways to innovate the games they make. They have all of the different broadcasting licenses, they have different commentary teams, the commentary is so good and non-repetitive that it blows your mind that a video game can have this good of commentary, and the gameplay is physics based, they've gone further beyond even Backbreaker and All Pro 2k8, and it's almost as if no two plays are the same. Some day I do think we'll end up with that, but EA has to be challenged before it happens.
Really great video. As a franchise/dynasty simulation guy myself, the presentation is severely lacking. All of your ideas were awesome and would add a ton to the experience of Madden franchise.
Charles Davis said on a podcast recently that they won’t get rid of them since they are the only ones who can really come in on Mondays and update audio but he said they brought in multiple other announcers so that way there will be more options. Which if done right would be a good feature
I remember how in madden 15 if a player got hurt they would actually give a decent sideline report, and sometimes even show the player walking to the locker room to hopping on the bike. I miss the days when Madden tried lol
Thank u for this nuanced take on what it takes to have a great game. This is what needs to be sent and spread. Presentation is everything especially in the spectacle of a sport.
I actually miss madden 25 back in the day. The presentation for each team intro was absolutely fire. I mostly played with the canton hall of fame greats in that game and when madden still had a legend roster in play now for free that's not madden ultimate team.
Yeah I hate the fact ea doesn't let you play franchise with a actual legends roster with actual player models faces and presentations and overalls like mut has the Legends. Having to download another persons created Legends roster to do a Legends fantasy draft its not the same
Might be in the minority here, but after seeing Joe Buck on ESPN the past few years, I’ve always imagined him being the new Madden commentator, especially with how his last few calls have gone, namely the Garret Wilson catch at the beginning of the season.
Part of it IMO is who Buck is paired with. When Buck and McCarver were paired up they worked well together with Tim being able to give insight and explain things Tim couldn't. Smoltz can do that as well but I eel the dynamic isn't the same as Joe/Tim was. Buck/Aikman I feel has gotten better over the years as well, to me Joe has loosened up an relaxed some in the booth as the years have gone on, but I don't feel like Madden, with how the presentation an way of doing announcing is, would be a great fit or him at all however, he wouldn't get to show what he can do, which is put stories in at will an discuss things with his colleagues in the booth. Something like the Minneapolis Miracle would only, knowing EA, get one set of lines and no reaction given for Joe to work with, whereas in a real game he'd get the reedom to be emotional and talk about it, dissect the replay, explain about the history of such plays and so on though. @@SOFTDRINKTV
This is a timely video. I'm starting a business this year and a big part of my plan is adding presentation factors and bells and whistles to a industry that has gone very stale.
I don't consider reused, robotic, inaccurate commentary and a generic scoreboard as "presentation." I call it UI. 7:48 Nothing about Madden is competitive; if I had a 5k$ team, browsed forums to learn the latest meta plays, and spent a few weeks practicing, I could go to a Madden Tournament. Watching those tournaments is like watching rocket sock em robots: which player's game is going to glitch favorably, team AI is going to bork less, and get luckier swirling around.
I think the majority of people working on these triple A titles Madden, 2K, COD etc today have little to zero interest about the product they’re working on, there might be some legacy people there who do but it takes a team of passionate people to make a fully fleshed out high quality product and thats just not happened in a long time and it probably wont change if they keep up the non sensical yearly release
I love this video and some of the broad strokes of my ideas for improving this game involve bringing back a LOT while adding some things. - Bring back the Infinity Engine or a better physics based deal. - Face Scans. 2016 I think is the last one with really good scans for players and coaches alike. - Resurrect EA Trax. I'm talking a Greatest Hits from 03-12. Best of the best. Franchise 3.0 (Cause this would be the third incarnation of it...) - Training Camp Mode (complete with doing drills in shorts like the OG PS2 days) - Good Morning Football/Up & Adams/The Pat McAfee Show in place of The Tony Bruno Show - Dynamic Commentary (have commentators not just giving play by play on the game, but speaking on the team, where they're at presently and so on. Is the team rebuilding or are we in the midst of an 80s Niners/90s Cowboys/00s Pats-esque dynasty?) - Madden 25 video intros for primetime games and playoff games. Big time blowup for the Super Bowl. - Creation. Suite. For. Relocation. For the sake of typing out a whole lot more, let's say... 'EA, see what 2K's doing with NBA 2K's Association Mode? COPY IT DAMN NEAR IDENTICALLY.' (If you play Franchise as a GM/Team President or Owner, you get input on rules changes to be implemented for the following season. One of the best parts about NBA 2K's Association Mode to me is having the ability to see the Association change year to year.) The stats should be LOADED with historic stats for every team, along with the league itself. The Draft should be what we had in the 00s with the volume turned way up. Have crowd reactions and live analysis of each pick. It should mirror real life. (Enter Rich Eisen anchoring the Draft with an all star casts of analysts like Mina Kimes and others.) This game has been a not so small part of my life for most of my time on this planet. Unlike most, I ruly and truly want this to improve and refuse to pay for a shitty product just cause it's all there is. I play the older titles (including Maddens 25-17) cause they're decent. Madden should be the be all end all with the technology it has now. It was way back when technology wasn't even close to this.
I was literally thinking about every single point playing last night. I had to create the story line tension in my head in the playoffs. Won the superbowl after 6 season s after rebuilding a terrible team and felt like I just wasted my time
The times we live in right now, really make me wish that a 'Sabol siblings for sports games' existed to save us from what we have now. People that actually care about these games we all love so much and harnessed their potential. Because an NFL game with some real heart and soul could be amazing with modern tech. I am excited to see what iRacing do with the Nascar console license because that is a company that truly cares about racing, and that i have trusted for years. But right now, I don't see the NFL getting that true passion project. They are the furthest from it at the moment.
@@SOFTDRINKTV desperately need a realistic football game, i always get this false hope each year that EA will change their ways but it's somehow getting to the point where the new games are the worst in the series 💀
I agree with you completely man and it’s the reason why I’m hyped for College football 25 and guys like Herbstreit saying there will be multiple announce teams. I want it to feel like I’m taking in an espn broadcast
Madden 25's presentation was actually so good dude. I prefer the gameplay on the ps3 vs the ps4, but man the pregame intros were great, you had actual sideline reporters giving injury and halftime updates, you had the commentary crew rendered in game, there were stat overlays that would popup showing how many completed passes in a row the qb has, or if anybody was close to a record or something, it also gave you the play of the game and the player of the game at the end of the match which was such a small thing to add but it was one of my favorite parts. Also i loved the player momentum feature they had where players would lose or gain traits based on their performance in the match, for example lets say a receiver dropped a pass or two, if you checked the momentum chart his trait for "drops open passes" may have changed from no to yes, but it only lasts for that match. Little things like that just helped create a narrative for each and every match. Game was so much better in literally every way.
My Madden wish list: 1. Hero vs villain team or player storylines for franchise similar to blitz the league. 2. Bring back retro teams and actually have authentic rules in reference to those eras. 3. Add a Hall of fame ceremony & draft visuals to actually add immersion. 4. Add dynamic weather effects "mud games" & noticable uniform deterioration. 5. Make crowd, coach & player interactions match the actual state of game & morale 6. Add Chris Berman to broadcast crew & bring back the Tony Bruno Radio Show for franchise 7. Add voice over from actual NFL players & staff to include in franchise & sideline stories 8. Add the face scan feature & don't remove it 9. Get coach Bill Belichick in the game NE coach is simply distasteful 10. Add historic moments back to the game 11. Restructure the super bowl to be more lively and immersive have hall of famers present 12. Bring back players shrine similar to madden 2009 but make it more expanded 13. Allow retired players to transition to coachs 14. Multiple broadcast crews for versatility 15. Add more realistic facial expressions for in game moments 16. Head Coach as a game mode 17. Reintroduce X-ray on field injuries 18. Expanded play & team creation 19. Add in John Madden & his Super Bowl Raiders as a specialty team & if you beat them on All Madden u unlock them for play 20. Immersive half time show thats actually informative & exciting to watch 21. Retro uniforms all the way back to the "leather helmets" era 22. Retired jerseys, super bowl rings & trophy's can be added to player shrines 23. Dynamic team introductions including mascots, banners, team flags etc 24. Keep all NFL stats, team & player career history records up to date 25. Face scan every NFL player and affiliate for the game including referee's 26. Show in game highlights for college players to add excitement to the scouting process
The old Arena Football games had a lot of this, great presentation, classic teams, real footage, players and coaches showing emotion, it felt like actual arena football.
Bro I just want you to know how impactful you are to this community. You hit every point on the head. I gave Madden 24 over 200 hours of playtime, not because I like it. But because its my only option to play simulated NFL football. I can see with my own eyes how lazy EA is. They know its a cash cow game that can be monetized like crazy for the young teenagers that want to spend their moms credit card on the latest Tyreek Hill in MUT. Its gross for people like you and me that just want a fun sim to play while they are enjoying the regular season. Ea knows where the bread and butter is and that's the sad part. They don't need to fix the game for people like you and me. They already know they are going to hit their financial goals for the year. And will continue to copy and paste the same MUT formula and rake in the profits. I applaud you for continuing your pursuit in calling out this corrupt game. We need more people like you to expose this ongoing laziness. I mean I can't even tell you how many hours I would dump into a Madden that could create a franchise that would let the player create the narrative and their own narratives. Madden franchise hasn't been properly worked on in decades due to MUT. There is a reason they use the same broadcasters for the last 10 years because they have no pressure to record new audio. If it ain't broke don't fix it is Maddens motto. The sad thing is, is that I will still buy madden 25 damn well knowing it will be the same cookie cutter bullshit its always been. Anyways, I just wanted to comment my thanks and appreciation for people like you that genuinely care about Madden. Maybe someday we will get what we are fighting for. Cheers!
Except it wasn't; it was Doc and Eddie in a studio reading lines with a CGI background. By the time '19 rolled around and I'm leading in a playoff series 3-0, rather than talk about everything I've done in the series to have a 3-0 lead, Doc asks Eddie, "How do you try not to get ahead of yourself?" in a wispy, not having to scream over 18k fans tone. Frankly, I don't think I got the best of Doc Emrick in the EA NHL series.
Dude I’m so happy you mentioned fantasy football within franchise. I’ve been thinking about that exact thing for a few years and I’m so happy someone else shares that idea!
YES! THANK YOU, SOFTDRINK! So many of your ideas in this video are EXACT things I have said to others or thought myself. Thank you for using the platform you have built to spread this message. We deserve better and they can do better.
Fun fact: EA also used NBC Golf Channel commentators and, in certain career events, graphics for Rory McIlroy PGA Tour (aka PGA Tour 15) which was a surprise to me. 😅
Man, I’m luckily I grew up with Maddens 04-09. I loved the home screen with your favorite team’s clips or photos. Kids nowadays don’t know what Madden used to be
I really liked this video a lot. Madden has become stale and it's easy to pile on but I felt that it was constructive and something that could actually be implemented in future Madden titles. It felt like a video thats coming from a passionate fan of the series, and it feels like that is missing from the Dev team or the higher ups preventing the Dev team from making these changes to make the best Football Sim game that it can be.
nfl films, especially the older ones are INCREDIBLE. my main problem with the new maddens is the pc ports are horribly unoptimized. its amazing how espn nfl 2k5 still has the best presentation of any football game since then
This is brilliant, as ever. Totally agree. Have really been missing a classic simulation that makes it feel like I'm stepping into a world. The PFF shout is super as is the throwback - always thought that! Hiding it behind endless hours of UT is no fun for those who don't want it. I played Madden 08 recently and it is striking how much better the presentation and storyline feel is. Curious, this feedback is so extensive and comprehensive, have you ever had any feedback from game producers? In many ways, you have given them the answers.
I remember playing early ncaa football games and they took the time to personalize the run outs for notorious teams and highlight the surrounding traditions that made them unique. They have done it before, they know how to, they just won’t. Smh it’s sad
16:05 kinda about this. You could hold A or O to make them run faster and waste stamina, but clocking it gives it back. Now you can’t rush in certain moments.
It’s been pretty evident for years EA and 2K could care less about the fans and only care about money and online gambling via ultimate team modes. We can complain all we want but the only thing that would change this would be hitting them in their wallets and not supporting ultimate team.
do a video on how there hasn’t been any broken records accolades in the recent years of the game . But all later titles had fun little cut scenes that really made the game worth trying !
Should totally look at TJBlayze's Madden mod pack. He makes some SERIOUSLY good presentation examples that use the games current assets and resources, implementing them beautifully into a realistic feeling presentation that would be easy to do with EA's current technology.
You hit on everything, I'll add a few other things to the mix.. the old 2Ks I like playing (14-16), even modern NBA Live at least has the ESPN/Sportscenter post-game integration, MLB 2K8 with the signature music and showing the fans coming into the stadium, NCAA 14 has team-specific intros. MLB The Show actually has a ticker at the bottom that projects the best fantasy players for the upcoming season as far as I know And I still don't understand how if they want to separate things for the sake of multiplayer why there can't just be a toggle. Give the option to speed up presentation or skip scenes, cut them out altogether online if you have to. There is no way it's just a "one size fits all" thing within the engine that can't cater to different types of players.
To be fair about the scoreboard on the top of the screen but I feel it’s best sitting at the top and I think it’s been that way for most games that I can remember. I believe nfl 2k5 has it to the top left of the screen. But it needs a little more pizazz, it looks bland and boring compared to past scoreboards.
For retro scoreboards during retro game modes (that don’t exist bc Madden sucks), yes. A 2K5 looking scoreboard would be fire in that situation. But for modern games it should have a modern scoreboard placed at the bottom
I completely agree with this video and I wish more people talked about this. Presentation in Madden desperately needs an overhaul. It’s crazy how I used to love the presentation in Madden 12 but now it’s so generic and lifeless. You can tell there is no passion from the dev team when creating the game.
People should boycott madden 25 or what ever name they’re going to call it. Watching this video makes me wanna delete madden 24 from my Xbox. MADDEN EA is Terrible
Im 31 now. I remember being 12,13,14 years old and coming home to kick on Madden 04,05,06 and play endlessly because it was fun. Now, i barely play. Not because i dont have time, but the game is so bad. There are some things like historical stats and teams that if they make it into the game, great... if they dont, well, i won't lose sleep over it. I want players to demand trades for being unhappy with their current team because they are losing or not getting targets, or they aren't getting paid. And they holdout until their demands are met. All rookie developments should be hidden regardless of what they are...they also should include BUST as a development trait with more diverse traits. Like a QB that is like Jamarcus Russel... has all the physical tools, but he lacks mental ability, and will he learn from that? Does he get his shit together and become an XFactor? Or does he flame out because he couldn't? Or does he become a servicable player but not HoF worthy? Or like a player that has all the talent and mental ability to play, but injuries keep him from reaching his full potential. Or a player who is considered too small or too fat or too skinny or too tall to play, but he comes and proves everyone wrong. Multiple late round gems at different positions like how Minnesota found Ivan Pace Jr. as an undrafted stud. Players who retire early if they just dont feel like playing anymore. XFactors for o line: Brickwall- more likely to beat speed rushers Immovable Object- more likely to beat power rushers Snow Plow - better blocking on inside runs Lead The Way- better blocking on outside runs and screens Like you said, Fox and CBS presentations. We dont need all 5. EA can keep the primetime games as there own little thing. But majority of games are on FOX and CBS and should be presented as such. Players who are more stubborn in FA about where they wanna play. TEAMS SIGNING AND DRAFTING PLAYERS THEY ACTUALLY NEED. IM SICK OF TEAMS TAKING PLAYERS I WANT RIGHT BEFORE MY PICK EVEN IF THEY DONT NEED HIM. Its annoying. Perfect example... Cardinals signed 2 MLB in FA, kept one of their own...all got big money and they STILL proceeded to take the MLB I wanted in the draft. No reason for that. All these things are easy to do. I dont understand why EA wont do them.
One of the absolute worst things about Madden presentation is how absolutely soulless the super bowl is. I should care about the super bowl. It shouldn’t just feel like any other game. They barely change the presentation at all in the super bowl from regular games, at the end of the game you see the confetti that isn’t even team colored since madden 22, they just have stock red and blue confetti for every team, I don’t want red and blue confetti when I win the super bowl as the Eagles, that makes no fucking sense. Also, in 2K games, you get to see players celebrating in the locker room, the players get their rings eventually, shit like that is just completely gone in Madden.
I got the all time rushing record in madden 16. Every single play after that they’d say “I can only hope he won’t be tackled for a loss next play” or something like that. The longer you play the more bugged it gets. It’s insane how often the standings are incorrect too. Teams with a worse record are sometimes above me ??
Man you nailed it once again. There is no…I repeat, no reason why Madden isn’t the most immersive sports simulation on the market. Especially with all of the power these next consoles provide.
I’m so glad you mentioned about how 2K has the Eras mode. I totally would love to play in different NFL Eras. Honestly if it brought more depth to NBA 2K games; I can definitely see it bring more depth to Madden.
As always, i agree💯💯 these are all the same things i want fixed besides franchise mode. Like, i think it would be cool if the post game and halftime shows were done by nfl network with david carr or etc, and the weekly show/podcast could be done by rich eisen and his crew. Like how awesome would it be to have authentic data from the game replayed, highlighted, and detailed with his over reaction monday and tuesday shows,as well as his whats more likely shows in the game. They can use teams franchise mode in game records data, stat data, and trade block data etc similar to the tony bruno show. Theres so much EA can do but greedy ,money hungry corporate jerks that dont actually play games of any kind, taking advantage of their power/platform. More cinematic/and dynanic press conferences with non generic headlines/answers as madden does in franchise already very bad lol
Hey bro, just come across your video. I’m a Scot who’s only really been into and played Madden since 17, your video reminds me so much of FIFA. For years as I’ve gotten older I’ve not been a UT fan so really only played career mode and there are so many game breaking bugs and glitches that are so pathetic and lazy that EA have neglected and have no intention or care of fixing. Such a shame. Great video
Awesome work as always man. Agree with all of this. Maybe a small thing, but something else I want, please can we have more than one genre of music. I mean I can only listen to the same 10 hip-hop songs over and over again until I just switch it off. We spend a lot of time in the menus and I miss having some Green Day or Ozzy in the mix. Some of the songs drive me so crazy, that on nights when its really quiet, I wake up, covered in sweat and all I can hear is..."DAM, thats the intro?....yes, thats the intro.
I do one better, remember NBA Live 98? NBA Live 98 presentation uses TNT and TBS logos, graphics and fonts and on their franchise mode, selected regular season games for your team could be on either TNT or TBS . Now if a game from the 90s can do that, there's no reason why Madden presentation can do something similar to that if not better.
imo that madden 21 intro with lamar jackson when they had limited work so they used actual clips was amazing. it actually got me in the mood to play the game and i really could watch that intro 24/7
I recently bought Madden 24. I hadn’t played a Madden since 12. Still just as soulless as it was back then. Only bothered with 12 bc it had the draft classes from NCAAF carry over to franchise. But I still didn’t play much back then. I also lost a lot of interest in NFL back then and I partly blame it on the lack of a good NFL game. NCAAF introduced me to college ball and they were some awesome games and I love real life NCAAF thanks to it.
As a franchise guy, all these points you made are exactly what I’ve been wanting for years now. Sometimes when I’m in a franchise game I’ll just play the nbc song/intro in the back so I can be more immersed 💀 Madden 10’s franchise mode is what made me fall in love with the game, The Extrapoint was what I looked forward to after every game I played. And I started playing the NHL games when they use to have the Real life commentators there, it just made the game feel more real. One thing I think you missed was the draft stories in Madden 25. Yeah some of them were really corny like Leon Sandcastle, but just having the pictures with the prospects in their college uniforms was awesome. And with EA having the right to all FBS colleges once NCAA drops, I think it’s very duable to have the top prospects in college pictures shown in the draft stories section of franchise mode.
You're not wrong about EA focusing on streamlining gameplay. I think it's tough because data says the overwhelming majority of users button past all the presentation elements, so the company doesn't think it's worth it to invest a lot in the presentation, but I think you have a point about focusing on presentation does help with the overall feeling of polish/immersion, even if I don't watch all the cutscenes very often.
I’ve said for years, they should have 3 commentary teams for madden. One for regular day games, one for Sunday night football, and one for Monday night football. Anymore will overcomplicate it, but that’s a good damn place to start. Have Romo and Nance for day games, Tirico and Collinsworth for Sunday, and Aikman and Buck for Monday. You have all 3 iconic (and slightly annoyjng) commentary teams.
Presentation is actually such a subtle detail that i’ve never noticed but now that you’ve pointed it out, I agree it really does not put you in the mood to play madden. I find myself getting bored playing madden after so many games because of the lack of life in the presentation.
Love it. An idea I had was different coach reactions based on their personalities. Todd Bowles isn’t going to yell/scream, throw his call sheet in anger, ect. There could be three different “types” of Coach animations: stoic (Bowles), fiery (Sean Payton), and a generic one (Ryan’s, McVay, Kyle Shan)
Love your passion to bring back Madden it’s sad to see the direction EA has gone in. Unfortunately EA receives ungodly amounts of money from micro-transactions in Ultimate Team, and clickbait views of people watching competitive online streaming in Madden. I believe there is less financial incentive’s for them to put efforts in the areas mentioned we so badly need and is a result of the same copy and paste product we’ve received for many years.
They actually might’ve listened with adding Mike Torico and multiple announce crews and in the beta leaks it actually kinda looks like Monday night football’s scoreboard AT THE BOTTOM and it says in the paragraphs that they added crowd sownds for mnf and nfl films
Bro I am so glad that you bought up the point that AI would be beneficial. I have been saying this for a couple months now, imagine you’re in your 3rd season of a rebuild in Franchise mode and the announced announces your progression over the years or better yet they GET THE NAME OF A RANDOM GENERATED ROOKIE, my God how hard is it to put some passion and effort into something. It really does break my heart that they only care about money, some people like us genuinely want to play the game for years to come and build a fantasy life but for some reason the devs don’t have that same passion as us
100% agree, every madden i usually average around 40 days played of just franchise mode, never touch the online stuff because i love the lore and making up my own story lines. I was thinking the other day about the “tags” system they have (mentor, bridge guy, franchise qb etc.) I’d like to see these play more of a role in the player’s personality and performance. Hell, give me negative ones too, if i draft a 1st round wr, maybe there’s a chance he has a Diva trait, where if i don’t get him 1k yards and 10 tds he demands a trade or something like that, but if i get a mentor WR and pair him with the diva WR, the diva tag goes away.
Watching this and getting my hopes up that one day it'll be fixed. Your spot on with this though and I didn't even realize it was the biggest thing missing in the game with authenticity.
The madden 02 intro with the little song, while showing gameplay as opposed to real life footage would get me and my friend soooo hyped. “The choice is all you this your madden 2002…. EA SPORTS… It’s in the game…” awwww man I miss that shit
Ea is terrible…. How to fix it? Make them lose every sports contract they have to companies that care
Lack of crowd noise is something that really bugs me out, it’s really insane how lifeless they are. How hard can it be to add stuff like the Terrible Towels, the “Go Pack Go!” chant, the tomahawk chop etc. or simply the touchdown songs of each team?
I played NHL 12 last night on rpcs3 and during the winter classic, the Pitt crowd had terrible towels…. That game is from 2011.

Madden 25 on PS3 is the best IMO.
this is something I have to agree on. I completely loved those intros back in the day.
*madden 11 had cool intros too....I use to like that game presentation especially when you played in Retro mode....EA need to bring Retro mode back*
@@johnfoster2584i agree.
Also they interview coaches at halftime with the real life head coaches or their star players
Or legendary players signatures like Kobe grabbing his Jersey, Allen Iverson's hand to his ear when he gets fouled in Philly, Michael Jordan's tongue coming out when he dunks and Dennis Rodman Kickin his leg out when he rebounds
That's some great detail and work to make it as authentic to the real NBA
They also do a quick interview of the player on winning team..
Win player of the week
And they mention it during the game and show the stats from that week
When I had a bad shooting night pme game and a good one the next they mention having a bounce back game
Please don’t give up on these ideas. It gets tiresome but you keep shedding light on the problems. As your platform grows the more they will listen. Make them listen man
No they won't there I'd no point in trying💀
I went back to play the PS3 era of sports games and MAAAAN. Isn't even close. The gap is so massive. Games were so good at all levels. Presentation, music, theme, scoreboards and so much more. Is insane how much we regressed with the sport game genre
NCAA10, Football NCAA, College Hoops, FIght Night games,NHL, MLB The Show. All those game got a massive regression
And most of those games started their decline in the PS3 Era too, late PS3 Era MLB The Show was already much worse than the early PS3 versions.
Man Madden 10-15 is so amazing bro I just don't understand it
The fantasy football mode within franchise mode is a genius idea
I have NASCAR 07, a game made by EA in 2006, that has fantasy within that game’s career mode
I would hope to draft my receiver who gets 3700 yards in a Madden 11 although that’s too many yards with realistic gameplay
It’s fun and games until someone gives death threats to a player on their Twitter for their madden version having a drop that costs their fantasy matchup
They had it in 06-08 maddens@@CantingWall3286
Madden 12's intro is still my all time favorite. The inception music cut up with the best moments from the previous season always has given me chills before playing. Nothing has come close in Madden since.
I remember in Arena Football after each play, there were cutscenes of players trash talking each other, coaches addressing the players, or even the players straight up attacking each other, especially if you scored a touchdown.
Oh yeah that was so cool
The video that we never asked for.....
but completely deserve and appreciate 🙂 but for real, I'm surprised NBA2K was never mentioned as examples of good presentation. With all the problems they have, the one thing we can all agree on is that they nail presentation every single year, even if they barely change it from year to year; since it's already so good
2k's problems are not with the main game. I am addicted to the Eras franchise mode. I have physically played 60+ games in my first season with no simming in 2 months. I have never done that before. They even have the damn Roundball Rock song you can play on loops during the out of game menu. It's amazing.
I think the point was to show examples of things EA has already done in the past. NCAA Basketball 10 was incredible.
It’s so bizarre that all these games nowadays have less features on new gen then old gen
My impromptu list of ways to improve Madden/my wish list in no particular order
Overall gameplay:
1) Fix the AI
2) Improve the presentation
3) Cross platform draft class/roster builders
4) Add legacy/all time teams
5) New commentary
6) Better music
7) Faster menus
8) Better player customization screen
9) More realistic player reactions (injuries, scoring, ect.)
Franchise Mode:
1) Replace the MLB, OLB, DE, and DT positions with linebacker, edge, and interior defensive lineman.
2) Hide all rookie dev traits, and maybe some or all stats until players have played. Maybe make rookie ratings and dev traits change based on performance.
6) Better coaching system
7) Void years as part of contract negotiations
8) Better rookie gear generator
9) More realistic UDFA market
10) Recent gameplay has more impact on performance (hot streaks and cold streaks)
11) Better stat tracking
12) Make the actual players on the team matter more than the playbooks.
13) Compensatory draft picks
Career Mode:
1) Some type of open world
2) Actual voice acting
3) A college stage
4) A better combine
5) More positions (D-line, O-line, full back, kicker/punter)
Ultimate Team:
1) Less pay to win
2) Better servers
3) Stop with out of position players
Some of these, specifically with the Ultimate team ones, will never happen.
>When your player gets injured, but he's on the field, jumping up and down, celebrating after the play -_-
Just had (another) player get injured on 2k and he was holding his ankle on the court
Fr
Ong. Mid 2010 NHL games were awesome with real NBC scoreboard
NHL 15 sucked
That would be the greatest video game ever created!

Thank You for your unwavering integrity...your videos are timeless.
Thank u for this nuanced take on what it takes to have a great game. This is what needs to be sent and spread. Presentation is everything especially in the spectacle of a sport.
I actually miss madden 25 back in the day. The presentation for each team intro was absolutely fire. I mostly played with the canton hall of fame greats in that game and when madden still had a legend roster in play now for free that's not madden ultimate team.
you forgot madden 12's presentation
Yeah I hate the fact ea doesn't let you play franchise with a actual legends roster with actual player models faces and presentations and overalls like mut has the Legends. Having to download another persons created Legends roster to do a Legends fantasy draft its not the same
And welcome to the jungle before the kick off was insane
Might be in the minority here, but after seeing Joe Buck on ESPN the past few years, I’ve always imagined him being the new Madden commentator, especially with how his last few calls have gone, namely the Garret Wilson catch at the beginning of the season.
I’ve always enjoyed Buck. People are too critical online (ironic coming from me, but I feel like I’m critical of things that actually deserve it)
Part of it IMO is who Buck is paired with.

It’s so crazy that all these features aren’t in current gen madden …early 2000s EA and madden games had so much immersion!
Franchise 3.0 (Cause this would be the third incarnation of it...)
- Training Camp Mode (complete with doing drills in shorts like the OG PS2 days)
- Good Morning Football/Up & Adams/The Pat McAfee Show in place of The Tony Bruno Show
- Dynamic Commentary (have commentators not just giving play by play on the game, but speaking on the team, where they're at presently and so on. Is the team rebuilding or are we in the midst of an 80s Niners/90s Cowboys/00s Pats-esque dynasty?)
- Madden 25 video intros for primetime games and playoff games.
One of the best parts about NBA 2K's Association Mode to me is having the ability to see the Association change year to year.)
The stats should be LOADED with historic stats for every team, along with the league itself. The Draft should be what we had in the 00s with the volume turned way up. Have crowd reactions and live analysis of each pick. It should mirror real life. (Enter Rich Eisen anchoring the Draft with an all star casts of analysts like Mina Kimes and others.)
This game has been a not so small part of my life for most of my time on this planet.

My Madden wish list:
5. Make crowd, coach & player interactions match the actual state of game & morale
6. Add Chris Berman to broadcast crew & bring back the Tony Bruno Radio Show for franchise
7. Add voice over from actual NFL players & staff to include in franchise & sideline stories
8. Add the face scan feature & don't remove it
9. Get coach Bill Belichick in the game NE coach is simply distasteful
10. Add historic moments back to the game
11. Restructure the super bowl to be more lively and immersive have hall of famers present
12. Bring back players shrine similar to madden 2009 but make it more expanded
13. Allow retired players to transition to coachs
14. Multiple broadcast crews for versatility
15. Add more realistic facial expressions for in game moments
16. Head Coach as a game mode
17. Reintroduce X-ray on field injuries
18. Expanded play & team creation
19. Add in John Madden & his Super Bowl Raiders as a specialty team & if you beat them on All Madden u unlock them for play
20. Immersive half time show thats actually informative & exciting to watch
21. Retro uniforms all the way back to the "leather helmets" era
22. Retired jerseys, super bowl rings & trophy's can be added to player shrines
23. Dynamic team introductions including mascots, banners, team flags etc
24. Keep all NFL stats, team & player career history records up to date
25. Face scan every NFL player and affiliate for the game including referee's
26. Show in game highlights for college players to add excitement to the scouting process
Bring back former NFL players like Dan Marino and Barry Sanders on Franchise Mode would be epic!
Cheers!
Using real footage like NHL does would even be enough for me. That'd be so cool actually seeing the commentary team for immersion
I am 100% onboard with your summarization and I also care.
The only reason why I bought it!
I'm sure there's great presentation for when you open the Ultimate Team loot boxes.
Ever since they added ultimate team it ruined it because all they care about is money
You hop on 2k5 and hear that sweet ESPN music
I mean even previous Maddens like 13 were really hype with the intro and menu theme
Should totally look at TJBlayze's Madden mod pack. He makes some SERIOUSLY good presentation examples that use the games current assets and resources, implementing them beautifully into a realistic feeling presentation that would be easy to do with EA's current technology.
You have a link? I’m assuming it’s a PC mod. I’d like to check it out but I feel like with mods there are limitations
MLB The Show actually has a ticker at the bottom that projects the best fantasy players for the upcoming season as far as I know
And I still don't understand how if they want to separate things for the sake of multiplayer why there can't just be a toggle.
Have it in the corners of the screen like the old fox ones
2K5 was set up the same way as a ESPN broadcast would have been in 2004.
For retro scoreboards during retro game modes (that don’t exist bc Madden sucks), yes. A 2K5 looking scoreboard would be fire in that situation. But for modern games it should have a modern scoreboard placed at the bottom
@@SOFTDRINKTVhow about you just choose whether it’s at the bottom top left or right corner
We're passed that.. Too many clown say "thank you sir, may I have another" each year.
A youtube channel that speaks to me 🙌🏾❤️
Presentation means everything
XFactors for o line:
Brickwall- more likely to beat speed rushers
Immovable Object- more likely to beat power rushers
Snow Plow - better blocking on inside runs
Lead The Way- better blocking on outside runs and screens
Like you said, Fox and CBS presentations.
Please keep putting these videos out we really need this in madden 25
As mid as Madden 25 was, I LOVE the team intros before the games in that one. They should do those again sometime, it would be even cooler now
i physically cannot take another year of the same brandon gauden and charles davis voice lines from madden 17
Love this video soft drink I might be late to comment but I’m just know getting to know your channel keep it up.
Keep doing what you’re doing bro. The community is tired of the BS, we need videos like this to get millions of views
Billions of views won't do nothing
@@snickaOG not with that attitude buckaroo
I’ve said for years, they should have 3 commentary teams for madden. One for regular day games, one for Sunday night football, and one for Monday night football. Anymore will overcomplicate it, but that’s a good damn place to start. Have Romo and Nance for day games, Tirico and Collinsworth for Sunday, and Aikman and Buck for Monday. You have all 3 iconic (and slightly annoyjng) commentary teams.
Wow those commentator models from Madden 25 look no different than Madden 15, I mean damn near identical
I watch on tv but I had to come to my phone to comment to hopefully help in the algorithm this video is next level man!
It really does break my heart that they only care about money, some people like us genuinely want to play the game for years to come and build a fantasy life but for some reason the devs don’t have that same passion as us
I actually LOVE all your suggestions for change, especially considering what used to be the norm. Hopefully "the powers that be" hears you too!
Joe Buck in Madden would be a bastardization of John Madden's memory
Presentation might be #1 for me, so I agree with everything u said here. EA really needs to see this video man
