"You worked for a company that was fixing bread prices."
THE DELIVERY.
Pretty straight Hannibal Lecter delivery
I can't let you do that, Pete.
thejobloshow Pete, are you fixing bread prices again?
.... _daisy.... daisy...._
I was not aware of the Canadian bread price fixing until last night
tfw Ash gives you a Voight-Kampff test and it's not going well
The journalist's name is Binyamin Appelbaum, which somehow makes him sound even more unsettling
"They all just have names like Amon Orangegrove"
Spot fucking on
This is the moment when I started to suspect I'm living in a simulation
Lots of journalists have those kinds of names.... Baum, Berg, Stein, Witz...
all animal shelters in the tri-state area are still reeling from that night. some who witnessed the heinous act may never recover. may god have mercy on the rat faced bread man
No, his company didn’t fix bread prices. He simply advised a company in his role as their consultant to fix bread prices.
i swear we're in purgatory
Hilarious segment, the Blade Runner reference at the end was golden.
“You’ve had direct experience with many of the things that make young people very angry about the way this country is operating right now and you don’t seem to embody that anger.”
The problem with Pete in a nutshell.
“When you're not performing your duties do they call you Mayo Pete? Cells.”
“Cells.”
“Interlinked.”
“Interlinked.”
“What's it like to fix bread prices? Interlinked.”
“Interlinked.”
Agent K is way cooler than Mayo Pete
Nope, you weren't allowed to even contact him when he was a mayor. He always had his assistant or private attorney to speak to you and or you didn't receive any communication at all.
This is great bc the interviewer clearly is not trying to attack Pete, hes just pointing out that he has firsthand experience with many of today's issues. But "unflappable" Pete interprets it as an attack and immediately starts lying his butti off about not knowing his company was fixing bread prices.
If this doesnt convince you the guy is extremely untrustworthy, I dont know what will.
The "FOLLOW-UP" to his avoidance and disregard on good questions like these, are usually what we never get to see. He wasn't able to triangulate, disregard or straight up lie like he usually do. The interviewer stuck to the facts. I love it!!😂😂✔
The NYT Editorial board member speaking was Binyamin Appelbaum, covering Economics and Business. NYT bio:
Binyamin Appelbaum joined the Times editorial board in 2019. From 2010 to 2019, he was a Washington correspondent for The Times, covering the Federal Reserve and other aspects of economic policy. He previously worked for The Washington Post, The Boston Globe, The Charlotte Observer and The Florida Times-Union. A native of Boston, he holds a B.A. in history from the University of Pennsylvania. He is based in Washington.
The rat bot faced a far superior model and was annihilated on camera, amazing to see
"Think of it, Mayor Pete, to never again walk on a summer's day, with the hot wind on your face and a warm hand to hold. Oh, yes. I'd kill for that."
That the NYT would hire someone with Mr. Freeze's disability is pretty cool tho.
I read that in his voice too.
What are you doing to the bread, Pete?
"The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wake up Mr. Buttigieg. Wake up and smell the ashes."
Oh my God he does sound like Gman
Applebaum is a lib but he's one of the better libs who doesn't hesitate to criticize the shitty neoliberal status quo guys like Pete are determined to uphold.
"nothing ever ends pete.."
"New York Times an illusion"
*Draws symbol for Hydrogen atom on forehead*
Little did they know how dirty the Rat was about to become
Hal: Pete
Hal: what are you doing, Pete?
Pete: Uh...nothing. Just looking at these bread prices.
Rise and shine mayor Buttigieg
...rise and shine...
Peter. . .can you explain these patterns I'm seeing in the bread prices?
Weird how I can't find this interview on UA-cam anymore
Copyright strikes probably.

Bread criminal Pete
You're at a fancy dinner party hosted by Mayor Pete. They're serving dog as the aperitif. What fork do you use?
Trick question... everyone knows you eat dog with a spork!
None. You eat it in a bowl on the floor.
Pete finally meets a more advanced sky net model than him and his “dadcusslang.exe” kick in
"Error! Segmentation fault!!"
Wasn't that the Hal voice?? Loved this, but please don't insult rats by likening Pete to one. They are intelligent and affectionate and adorable.
I think they were comparing the guy grilling Pete to Hal.
Not gonna lie, I listened to the episode probably 3 times total to pass time at work & get to the bread scandal questioning bit
I love Binyamin. I don't care what his own views are but the guy's an internet star in the making with a face and voice like that.
I'm really happy to see that Norman Bates has transitioned so well after getting out of the mad house. And now is a leading candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination. Mother would be proud of him no doubt.
This made my fucking day.
OMG! He DOES sound EXACTLY like the droid from Alien!
I want to here him say "You've been a bad boy Peter. I shall have to.. discipline you"
Even when he curses he has to construct a long-winded sentence structure before he gets to the point.
No authenticity or credibility when he tries to respond to the claims he considers are inaccurate. Trump would just straight up deny true things. Pete tries to raise technical points. That’s why he’ll lose.
Great great analysis
Hell yes I got a Prager U commercial before this video
Here at Prager U, we excel in the most contrived, lazy, surface-level justifications for your inherited position in humanity's bullshit dominance hierarchy.
Also:

Slightly curious as to what a Prager U ad looks like though...
Poor Dennis still can't get his wife to sleep with him
@@Bisquick as someone who has gotten them before, it's just one of their videos as a skippable ad.
@@kyletowers9662 Wow, they can't even be bothered to create a unique ad. Guess it appeals to that demo of status quo warriors. God I hate this shit.
I like these 5 minutes uploads.
YES!! Thank you, Chris Wade!!!
Didn't he actually name Loblaws as a specific place he was working for? And around the time of the scandal he said he was working on supermarket prices or something like that
Yes. Also, the not being aware of it until the night before was a very strange remark. Plenty of people were talking about it way before then, so it's unimaginable that a proper campaign wouldn't have brought it to his attention earlier.
@@HotTakeYeller It's strange because he was lying lol. "I couldn't have known about this thing, I just found out about right now! And boy, I am as pissed as you!" Total rat energy.
Same thing goes for Blue Cross blue shield of Michigan that he swore he only made spreadsheets for during the time they raised premiums and terminated employees. Funny how he is always around, yet never seem to have any responsibility as to what happened. Interestingly enough, the same thing happened in South Bend, where he always seem to be unaware of terrible things going on right in his own city even when agencys reach out to him....examples are the police department who stay in the news, questionable cover-ups of murders, the south bend school system that Pete stated he was unaware for 8-years that the school system had not only a diversity problem but also a budget problem 8-years, big city and real estate contracts given only to his donors and pushing away local and small businesses from these contracts! This man is absolute garbage.
@@BigBigOnions and the ridiculous part is...he is going around the U.S. campaigning with this same tactic and straight up lying as to his progress, his values and his overall experience. And big media refuse to fact check him so people remain under the impression that he is geniune.
This is fucking hilarious.
Can’t Connect : 😂
But Matt, robot on robot violence sometimes leads to robot on robot makeup sex.
All is full of love
Tbh that’s the only reason I’m currently playing Atomic Heart
Pete looks and acts *exactly* like The Smiler in transmetropolitan
Bladerunner at the end. Hilarious
Pete isn't that cool, he only gets to be David from Prometheus II, they just are being coy, this is their version of the terrible flute scene.
I'll do the fingering
I actually liked the David stuff in that movie. It was wierd as hell which was fun
The David stuff was the only good part of that movie
lmao bob balaban
Not sure how Mayo Pete recovers from this and the Chapo High Hopes memes.
I dont understand from Pete POV whats the difference between what is being acuse of and what he is saying it was his job?
The difference is, he doesn't like what that implies about him to the Young Voters, so he has to deny it.
Khashon Haselrig Yea on one hand people like Pete want props for working for these top-tier firms. But on the other hand they don’t want to bear any responsibility for whatever wrongdoing these firms engage in while they’re working for them.
Yeah a genuine question im trying to understand what he thinks is his big defence
@@blackcat1642 if you research the company, his entry position is akin to "slide monkey". Contrary to popular belief, he likely had little influence on company decisions. If the partner was engaging in a price fixing scam, it's possible an analyst knew what was happening, but also possible they didn't know what was being done with the slides they were making. Depends on the exact scenario. Here's a look at what what the roles look like and the hierarchy [note for Business Analyst, it says: Little decision making power]: igotanoffer.com/blogs/mckinsey-case-interview-blog/mckinsey-careers

is just to get that out of the way he worked for a company that was fixing bread prices know I work for a consulting company that had a client that may have been involved oh yeah yeah it was apparently in a scandal I was not aware of the Canadian bread pricing scandal until last night
beautiful
Nah he looks like that guy from Tim and Eric who’s working with Tim and Steven Spielberg on the Spaghett movie
SPAGHETT
high chapo
HAL vs Skynet
Jesus i love this interviewer, does he do other stuff?
You mean Binyamin Appelbaum? He wrote a great book called "The Economists Hour" where he recounts the takeover of government policy by economists starting with Richard Nixon.
THE PRICES WERE TOO HIGH F F F F F F
As of February 9: We need Hal.
“Mayo Pete”. Yeah that works fasholly
Peter “Mayo Pete” Buttigieg
I love it that everything humans fear are made into euphemisms, multiple words, some of which are still considered swears, too harsh for our precious brains, yet shit is still one ☝🏾 of them!
[ and I love it more that Genuis Pete couldn’t figure out how to say ‘utter crap’, which has been allowed since oh, the sixties...? ]

(Edward Albee play written in fire by director Mike Nichols.) his early work is excellent …and listen to him discuss his ☝🏾 first film.)
“Ergo visa vis.” Who was that journalist and can someone tell me who Bob Balidan is and what the joke about seeing someone in the desert is? I love that android man, he really grilled Mayo Pete and it was gorgeous.
"You’re in a desert walking along in the sand when all of the sudden you look down, and you see a tortoise, it’s crawling toward you. You reach down, you flip the tortoise over on its back. The tortoise lays on its back, its belly baking in the hot sun, beating its legs trying to turn itself over, but it can’t, not without your help. But you’re not helping. Why is that?"
Its from Blade Runner.
His name is Binyamin Appelbaum. Yes, that's his real name.
BucketCapacity: Wait, is that Anne Applebaum’s husband??
Bob Balaban, actor who often plays very strict, fussy, annoying, bureaucratic characters. ua-cam.com/video/kXvfBvua7GY/v-deo.html
The joke about seeing the tortoise in the desert is a reference to Blade Runner--it's the test that gets used to troll an android into exposing himself. In the movie, the android flips out and kills the guy proctoring the test. XD
I love mayo pete
Where’s the clip gone? 🤔

Yesss!
no
No. Vaush is a total piece of trash and shouldn’t be validated by any actual leftist media.
agogobell28 why?
@@agogobell28 What did Vaush do?
Sargon with a fresh piece on Bernie Sanders today to match even his haircut!
What is Sargons verdict on Bernie?
@@julymagnus493 : Called him a wimp for backing down from every potential fight, from protestors taking over his rally, to not having the stones to refuse to apologize to Joe Biden. I do think there's a point there, especially about Biden.
@@itsallfunandgames723 For me, the Biden point appeared to be an attempt to draw Biden out to a point he was vulnerable and then attack him even worse (as we seen now).
I think the reality is it was a hedge. He cannot openly call Biden corrupt then endorsement in the not unreasonable chance Biden takes the nomination. It is a shitty circumstance and perhaps a weakness in Bernie's character makeup. But it is what it is and that's why it isn't about just him, but everyone. :\
Tbh if you have any idea what a McKinsey 1st year associate actually does (and know what the Canadian bread price scandal consists of), it’s pretty obviously bs to call him “on the front lines of corporate price fixing”
I'd like to give him a pass for the mistakes of youth (like working for that god-forsaken consulting firm), but he not only has not disavowed the work of McKinsey but has commented it was (and presumably is) a good place to work.
No offence but do you? Its actually the 1st year associate who do all the work. Given his rapid promotion, McKinset must have happy with him.
Don’t talk over each other

Mista Gang it’s annoying. It’s criticism. I don’t know why you can’t handle it and have to defend them 😂 go back to what you where doing
