@@davemonday5381 Ducati only made it from 2007-2008, only 1500 worldwide. Most owners probably never or rarely rode theirs. I've seen only one and it was at a shop for service. Whether it was ever raced would depend on the owners. Most probably didn't want to risk crashing them, that was if the bike met homologation rules. And spares would be an issue. And if it raced and lost to "regular" superbikes it wouldn't look good for Ducati, even being de-tuned, it was mostly a GP bike.
@@brentbartley6838 one year I went to the TT I took my 999SP. And on the ferry there was Desmosedici straight in front of me it sounded fantastic. Later on in the week I was at the creg and the same bike turned up with two others. 3 together. You don’t see that often.
You said the Honda MotoGP bike is the RC212V. It is in fact the RC213V. The motorcycle this video is about is called the RC 213VS. The S stands for Street. It’s a detuned version of the MotoGP bike with lights and blinkers. I’m sure there’s other changes but that’s the main idea. Buying Hondas MotoGP bike, but made street legal. They’re available in the US at Iconic MotorSports in Malibu CA.
And after all that testing. The RC213V-S couldn’t live with the fireblade superbike. Don’t get me wrong I’d own one if I could I’d have a RCV in a heartbeat. But the best road racer is a road bike. Any Irish or TT team will tell you that.
Also besides being like almost 200k didn't it only have like 150 horsepower and you had to pay like another 50 grand or something to unlock the full 200? .. that's ridiculous I mean you go get the all Ducati superleggera for less than that
Misleading title this was not a fail at all. Price for performance not that great … I saw one run with race kit at the ulster gp and with Bruce anstey on it and lap times no better than super bike and not much faster than super stock
@@ducaduke there is of course a few I like, like their Harley-Davidson clone race bike from the 80s, the flat track bike. And the small i4 air cooled bikes from the 70s... But yeah idk why, just doesn't give me that feeling like the other japanese bikes. When I hear Honda I just think really slow, low, and loud Honda civic 🤮
And I know one of these v4 race bikes for the street they made had the rads on the side so they didn't work well and if you dropped the bike they'd break easy. Saw it on a review. Not sure if it was this one though.
@@ducaduke Lol Really though id ride a rune just to troll the HD boys that think less than 700 pounds isn't a real bike..... Because theyre insane. I try really hard getting my bike to weigh less. That rune looks like it weighs as much as a car. But I've never actually seen on irl.
Ducati did it a decade earlier with the Desmosedici at half the price and 200hp without the optional performance exhaust and race tune.
Why didn’t Ducati race it at the TT. I’ve seen a few on the island but never on the track. Just saying

Side by side comparison: I’m still picking the RC 30. Not even a tough choice for me.
Insane price ☝️And what mere mortal, can actually ride it properly ☝️
Great info bro. Your informational vids are top notch.
My dude! Thanks 🙏🏼

Why did it fail bc it’s $183,000
The real failure was my bank balance .
@@P.DuncanMonk 😂 same
and the fact it would mostly come with the 115 or something engine
I was excited when they announced it. I thought it was.gomna be 40k.. totally would have got it...
Then I shit myself at 170k+. Fuck that
Imagine if that bike required a $40,000 engine rebuild every 3000Km 😢
183k and still would have had a bad reg rec.

Wheelbase has been increased over the last 30 yrs to decrease wheelies.
Is this the bike that had really bad radiator placement for the street version but not the GP bike?
Honda never excited me.
Wow that’s crazy!
